Vani was shocked to see Jai in front of her.
She just kept staring at him in disbelief.
Her breath caught in her throat. At first, she thought a thief had broken in — but as soon as the face became clear, her eyes widened.
"Jai?" — That name wasn't even in her imagination.
Her body seemed to regain consciousness. She panicked and started struggling to free herself from his grip.
But Jai placed his hand over her lips and whispered near her ear,
"My son is sleeping. If you make a sound, he'll wake up. Come outside. I need to talk to you. And don't try to scream."
Vani shivered from his closeness. Her heartbeat was racing, but she composed herself and glared at Jai angrily.
Jai slowly let her go. Vani took a deep breath, as if she'd escaped a storm.
Jai grabbed her hand and led her toward the hall. The moment they reached it, Vani jerked her hand away and pushed him hard, creating distance.
A wave of anger swept through Jai's eyes. He grabbed her shoulders tightly, pulled her close, and said,
"What happened? You didn't like me touching you? But you didn't mind Daksh touching you, did you? You were clinging to him!"
Vani's face twisted in pain; his grip was strong. But she didn't want to appear weak.
She replied in the same firm tone,
"Mister, who the hell are you to question who I touch or who I sleep with?"
Jai clenched his teeth.
"Maybe you've forgotten that I'm your husband. Or do I need to remind you?"
He moved even closer, whispering in her ear,
"I have many ways to remind you who I am."
That was it — Vani exploded in rage. She pushed Jai with full force and slapped him hard across the face.
"Husband?" — her voice trembled,
"Do you even know what that word means? A husband is someone who protects his wife from every sorrow, who supports her. You? You brought only ruin into my life. You tore me away from my family, my city, my dreams, my loved ones — every pain I have is because of you. On the morning after our wedding, you used me and abandoned me. What right do you have now to call yourself my husband?"
Her words had become a volcano — the lava had been building up in her chest for years.
Jai stood silent. Her words shook him more than the slap. His eyes welled up. A strange ache swelled in his chest.
"I know," he said quietly.
"I made terrible mistakes. I was blinded by revenge. But I've changed now. Just once — give me one chance to make things right. For you, for our son. I'll do whatever you say. Please, Vani..."
Vani laughed bitterly.
"Oh, now Jai Singh Rathore has stooped so low that he's begging forgiveness from a 'gold digger' like me? Now you remember you have a son? Where were you when he was born?"
She cried in anguish,
"Your words, your tears can't erase my pain. Because of you, I lost my father, my marriage was destroyed, you dragged my career through the mud. The day you made me sign the divorce papers, I died that day. You strangled our relationship with your own hands."
With that, Vani collapsed to the floor, sobbing uncontrollably.
Jai slowly sat beside her. Regret darkened his face.
"If only I hadn't done all that..." he whispered from deep inside.
"Now I want to fulfill the vows I made to you during our wedding. Just one chance — if not for me, then for our son. Let's forget everything and start over."
Vani raised her tear-soaked eyes.
"Forget? Did you forget what you did to me? You forced me into marriage, threatened my father's reputation. My baba nearly died because of you. What do you know about what I've lost?"
"Now leave me and my son's life. That's what's right."
Vani (filled with anger and pain):
"Maybe life would've been easier without you… maybe Baba wouldn't have suffered so much… he wouldn't have had to worry about me. Do you even know? Baba almost died… and still, despite everyone warning me, I chose you. I came with you. But what did you do, Jai?"
"Answer me! Do you have any answer?"
"Where were you when the doctors kept asking, 'Where is your husband?' Where were you when I was screaming in labor? Where were you when our child burned with fever at night?"
"Where were you, Jai, when our son asked me, 'Mumma, when will Dad come?' When he looked sadly at other kids playing with their fathers in the park… when there was a quiet hope in his eyes to meet his dad just once!"
"Where were you then? Enjoying your luxurious life? I… I bore everything… alone! With no support, no complaints."
"Why are you back now, Jai? What made you think everything will go back to normal?"
"No… there's no need for you in our lives anymore. I raised my son alone, and I'll continue to. I'll never let him feel the absence of a father… and I'll never let your shadow fall on him."
"Leave, Jai! Before I lose control… If you stay one more second, I swear I'll call the police!"
(She starts looking for her phone)
---
(Jai, filled with guilt and anxiety, is broken by her words. He remains silent, but his eyes swirl with a storm of regret.)
(Vani, unable to find her mobile, rushes to the landline. At that moment…)
(Jai suddenly leaps forward, grabs the phone, and smashes it on the floor.)
---
Vani (shocked and furious):
"What the hell was that, Jai? How dare you…!"
---
(Jai grabs her hand and pulls her close. There's no anger in his eyes — just determination and a shattered heart.)
Jai (in a serious, emotional tone):
"Enough, Vani. I've been trying to make you understand for so long… Not anymore. Now you'll only listen to me."
"Even if you don't forgive me… I'll wait. But I can't stay away from you and our son anymore."
"You both are coming with me… and that's my decision."
"And you know me… once I make up my mind, I never back down. You have endless complaints — we'll spend a lifetime arguing if that's what it takes. But I will not lose you or my son again."
"Even if I have to force you… I will get you both back. Take this as a request… or my stubbornness."
(Jai looks at Vani with fierce intensity.)
Jai:
"And one more thing… stay away from Daksh. I won't tolerate anyone else getting close to you. Not even my best friend. You belong to Jai Singh Rathore… and until my last breath, you'll remain mine. If you truly care about Daksh, stay away from him."
---
(Vani glares at him, her face red with rage)
Vani (loudly):
"Who the hell are you to threaten me? I'll talk to whomever I want, whenever I want, however I want… It's none of your business, Mr. Jai Singh Rathore!"
---
(Jai's face burns with anger. In a flash, he moves close to her — and without warning, presses his lips against hers. It's a forceful kiss, filled with rage and passion. Vani struggles, breath quickening. Only when she panics and tries to break free, does Jai let go.)
---
(Vani stumbles back, lips trembling, breath uneven)
Vani (frightened, furious, in shock):
"W-What… what the hell was that, Jai? You…!"
---
(Jai moves even closer, whispers near her ear…)
Jai (softly but intensely):
(Vani trembles with anger and humiliation, trying to free herself from his grip. Jai, now calm, steps back.)
(Vani is about to say something when suddenly…)
---
(A sweet, sleepy voice breaks the silence)
"Mama… what are you doing here?"
