The ship descended through Hell's crimson atmosphere, its sleek hull gleaming against the blood-red sky.
As it approached the devastated landscape where Bane stood triumphant, the engines shifted to vertical thrust, kicking up clouds of ash and debris from the recent battle.
Freeza watched through the viewport, her violet eyes fixed on the towering figure below. Even from this distance, she couldn't sense the Ki itself, but could literally feel the pressure radiating from the fusion of Toji and Broly.
She could only compare this feeling to one other being she's met before-
Beerus. The 'God' Of Destruction.
"Is that really him?" Goku asked, pressing his face against the glass like an excited child. "I've never felt anything like it!"
"It's both of them and neither," Piccolo replied gravely. "Potara fusion creates an entirely new being with its own soul- Satan explained it only five minutes ago, keep up, Goku."
The ship touched down fifty yards from where Bane stood, the landing gear compressing with a hydraulic hiss.
As the exit ramp extended, Freeza was the first to step forward, her tail swishing behind her with barely contained agitation.
"Empress," Vegeta cautioned- deciding though it tasted like ash in his mouth, to be formal with her so that she at least tries to listen, "perhaps we should-"
"I will see him," she interrupted, her tone leaving no room for argument.
'Tch, much of waste of breath that was.' Vegeta thought to himself annoyed.
The group descended the ramp in tense silence - Freeza in the lead, followed by Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, and finally Paragus, who kept casting wary glances at the colossal figure that contained his son.
Satan and Lady Amaranth materialized beside them as they approached Bane, having teleported from the ship rather than walking.
Satan's obsidian skin gleamed in the hellish light, golden chains clinking softly at his wrists and neck.
Lady Amaranth's blood-red hair flowed upward as if underwater, her alabaster skin practically glowing against the desolate backdrop.
"Magnificent!" Lady Amaranth exclaimed, her voice shifting jarringly between aristocratic formality and crude enthusiasm. "The Amaranth is fucking delighted by your transformation, glorious destroyer! Two flaws merged into divine perfection!"
Satan's lips curled into a knowing smile. "Indeed. The Boundary-Breaker continues to exceed expectations. One might almost suspect divine intervention in your... evolution."
Bane regarded them all.
"What do we call you?" Goku asked, breaking the tense silence with his characteristic directness. "Are you still Toji? Or Broly? Or something else?"
The fusion's lips curved into a slight smile. "You may call me Bane."
His voice was deep and resonant with a subtle echo effect, as if two voices were speaking in perfect unison. Despite his intimidating presence, his expression remained calm, almost serene.
Piccolo stepped forward, his cape billowing in the hot winds of Hell. "What will you do now?" he asked, his tone carefully neutral.
Though he didn't voice it, a question burned in his mind:
'How long will this fusion last?' Satan had mentioned that Potara fusions for mortals typically lasted only an hour, but he didn't want to alarm Bane if the fusion didn't know this.
Bane's eyes fixed on Piccolo, a knowing smile spreading across his face. "You're wondering how long I have before the fusion ends, aren't you, Namekian?"
Piccolo's eyes widened slightly. "How did you-"
"I can see your thoughts as clearly as if you'd spoken them," Bane replied with a casual shrug of his massive shoulders.
"And yes, I'm aware of my time limit. The Potara fusion for mortals typically lasts one hour, though given the power I'm currently channeling, it may be even less."
He gazed upward at Hell's crimson sky, seemingly unbothered by his impending dissolution. "But that doesn't mean my existence ends. Not really."
"What do you mean?" Goku asked, his curiosity piqued.
Bane turned his mismatched eyes toward Goku. "When two souls merge through Potara fusion, they create something new - a third soul, unique and distinct. When the fusion ends, this soul doesn't simply vanish. It continues to exist somewhere within Creation, dormant but intact. I don't know how I know- but I just do."
'Well, it's not that I just do. I can literally sense a string connecting my soul to somewhere- me being more aware of it, thanks to being made from Toji.'
He gestured casually with one massive hand. "Should Toji and Broly ever fuse again, they wouldn't create a new soul from scratch. They would summon me back - the same consciousness, the same being."
"Fascinating," Satan murmured, golden chains clinking as he stepped closer. "A soul born of fusion, existing in a state of perpetual potential. One wonders where such souls reside when not manifested."
As the others discussed this, Bane's mind turned inward, contemplating something only he could know right now.
'Now what to do with the current problem at hand. Let's check the facts.'
'The Potara doesn't just merge bodies, but merges pieces of the souls.
I can feel two strings of soul energy connected to Toji and Broly, ones born from their own soul energies, connecting them to my soul.
When the defusion happens, these pieces will be absorbed by Broly and Toji respectively- this is how they gain each other's and my memories, as is a side-effect of the Potara fusion.'
Normally this shouldn't really matter- well, a worthy price to the warriors who do the Potara to gain victory against their enemy.
Vegeta and Goku didn't mind it. Neither did Vegito.
But for Bane though, it did.
Bane- a warrior born from the Potara, is born with the instinctive need to bring victory to his originators, and protect their lives and those they love.
Toji's soul piece though, the one containing his memories of his first life - of being Samael, of knowing this world as fiction before his arrival would be compeletely incompatible with Broly, since other laws of an entirely other reality make up that soul piece too.
Broly's soul could potentially be caused to fracture- if not even explode were he to absorb it.
'I need to prevent this,' Bane decided. 'I can't stop the soul energy transfer completely, but I can filter it - erase the otherworldly aspects from the portion that will go to Broly, the aspects that are purely Samael.'
While he was at it, Bane realized he should also remove the more... intimate memories between Toji and Freeza from what Broly would receive.
Having another man's memories of being with the Empress would be awkward enough, but knowing Toji as he did - being partially composed of him - Bane understood just how possessive his "father" could be.
Bane snorted with amusement as he imagined what would happen. 'Toji would probably Hakai Broly at the first opportunity if he thought another man had memories of being with Freeza,'
'Even if that man only had those memories because of fusion with Toji himself. Dad's possessiveness makes Yandere-chans look well-adjusted.'
The thought made Bane chuckle internally.
Toji's jealousy was legendary - the man who would tear apart the barriers between realms, challenge gods, and rewrite the laws of existence for his family would absolutely lose his mind over something so trivial.
It was like a cosmic horror with abandonment issues and a security blanket.
'While I'm at it, I should probably erase my own memories of Toji and Freeza together,' Bane decided, as he crossed his arms and nodded to himself several times.
'Not that I'll likely be summoned again soon, but if I am... well, I'd rather not have "Dad" trying to erase parts of my memory. He's definitely the type who'd find a way to track down a disembodied fusion soul just to make sure no one else has memories of his wife.'
(How Bane imagines it:
Toji ripping apart the barrier of whatever world he is in after having trained for years for this single moment, the mechanical breathing being the first thing he hears as from the hellish tear.
Toji floating through, finding his soul below him, descending, and looming down upon him, then grabbing his soul..
"Sorry son, I know this will be painful." A mock voice of sorrow appearing from the Helmet, with a soft shake of the head. "This will hurt me more than it will hurt you, but it has to happen."
'Like hell it does you shitty old man!' Bane thinks with terror.
"Hakai."
Cue- Bane's soul screaming as his memories are forcibly erased.
Afterwards, Toji softly petting Bane's soul- like nothing fucking happened.
Like Bane didn't feel like he was about to get erased because of his dad's crazy yandereness.)
Bane shuddered. 'Yeah, no fucking way. I'm burning these memories away, and am never gonna face crazy yandere dad.'
"The Amaranth demands her fucking reward," she suddenly announced, breaking Bane out of his thoughts, her blood-red hair writhing like living flame.
"After the fusion ends and Toji returns, he will provide the kiss he promised."
Piccolo frowned. "You didn't actually help us. Bane defeated Cumber before we even left the ship."
"You wasted my precious time!" Lady Amaranth countered, her tone shifting from aristocratic to crude in an instant. "I was promised payment, and the Amaranth always collects what she is owed!"
"It is a deal I and my husband never agreed to," Freeza interjected, her tail lashing dangerously behind her. Her voice was ice-cold, but her eyes burned with barely contained fury. "If you think I will allow some creature to claim what is mine-"
"Yours?" Lady Amaranth's laughter echoed across Hell's desolate landscape. "The Amaranth finds your possessiveness fucking adorable, little lizard. What claim do you have on him? You abandoned him and your child! I offered him godhood while you offered him nothing but your cold fucking back!"
Freeza's aura flared violently, purple energy crackling around her slender form. "You dare-"
"Ladies," Bane interrupted, his dual-toned voice cutting through the tension. "Perhaps I can offer a solution."
Both women turned to him, momentarily united in their surprise.
"Lady Amaranth," Bane continued, "would you be satisfied with a kiss from me instead?"
The fallen Kai blinked in confusion. "From you?"
"I am not Toji," Bane explained calmly. "I am a different entity, a different soul. I am Bane." He glanced at Freeza. "Therefore, I am not your husband, Empress. My actions would not constitute betrayal."
Lady Amaranth considered this, her head tilting like a curious bird. "The fusion instead of the component... interesting. You do possess his essence, his power... perhaps even more magnificently concentrated."
"Are you sure about this?" Goku asked, looking uncomfortable with the whole situation.
Bane shrugged his massive shoulders. "I have less than an hour of existence. Might as well make the most of it." His lips curved in a smile that was both Toji's confidence and Broly's wildness. "Besides, I imagine it would be quite enjoyable."
Lady Amaranth's expression shifted from consideration to hunger in an instant. She glided forward, her feet leaving the ground as she floated up to reach Bane's impressive height.
Her hands came to rest on his broad shoulders as she positioned herself at eye level.
"The Amaranth accepts your fucking generous offer," she purred, her voice dropping to a seductive whisper. "You may not be him exactly, but you're close enough."
She wrapped her arms around his neck, her blood-red hair swirling around them both like a living curtain. Bane placed one massive hand at the small of her back, drawing her closer with surprising gentleness.
Their lips met in a kiss that was anything but chaste.
Lady Amaranth pressed herself against him with desperate hunger, millennia of isolation and desire pouring forth in a single moment.
Bane matched her intensity, one hand tangling in her hair while the other kept her firmly against him.
The kiss deepened, Lady Amaranth moaned against his mouth, the sound carrying across the silent battlefield. Even Goku and Vegeta found themselves blushing at the display, while Piccolo looked away in embarrassment.
When they finally broke apart, a thin strand of saliva still connected their lips for a moment before breaking.
Lady Amaranth's eyes were half-lidded, her breathing ragged, her skin flushing with redness.
"The Amaranth will find you," she whispered breathlessly, her hands still clutching at his armor. "Whatever Potara realm you inhabit between manifestations you speak of, I will discover it. I will create a body for you, magnificent one. You will be my husband in that realm between realms."
Bane smiled, genuinely amused and perhaps a little intrigued by her declaration. "I like the sound of that," he replied, voice carrying a hint of warmth. "But before then, I have something important to do."
He gently disengaged from her embrace and turned to address the others. "I need you all to step back. What comes next requires space."
As the group retreated to a safer distance, Bane extended his senses throughout Hell.
He could feel the damage Cumber's rampage had caused - not just physical destruction, but tears in the very fabric of reality that separated the realms.
The barriers between Hell and the living world, between Hell and Heaven, had been weakened. The Axis Mundi itself - the cosmic tree connecting the realms - had been damaged.
If left unrepaired, these breaches could allow the essence of Hell to leak into other realms, corrupting them. The universe itself would be in danger.
Bane knew what needed to be done, though he wasn't certain he could accomplish it. His nature was primarily destructive - both Toji's God of Destruction energy and Broly's Legendary power were forces of annihilation rather than creation.
But he had to try.
'Here goes nothing,'
Closing his eyes, Bane began to shift his consciousness away from destruction.
He abandoned the mindset that had served him in battle, reaching instead for something new - the concept of Creation.
At first, nothing happened. His aura continued to pulse with its dual layers of destructive energy. Then, slowly, something began to change.
A new energy began to form within him - not the purple-black of destruction, or the emerald green of Legendary power, both slowly vanishing - but a pure, cold white light that seemed to emanate from his very core.
It spread outward, gradually replacing his aura with its pristine radiance.
Satan's eyes widened in genuine shock. "Impossible," he whispered, the word slipping past his usual careful control. "He's becoming an actual, honest to God, Supreme Kai candidate."
Lady Amaranth stared in awe, "Holy fucking shit," she breathed, her voice trembling. "He's channeling Creation Ki!"
The transformation was spectacular. Bane's massive form became enveloped in cold white light that grew in intensity until it was painful to look at directly.
His silhouette within the light began to change, becoming more slender, more elegant, though still powerfully built.
Bane raised both hands toward the crimson sky. The white light shot upward in a massive pillar that pierced Hell's atmosphere, visible across realms.
Wherever it touched, reality itself seemed to heal - cracks in the fabric between dimensions sealed themselves, damaged structures reformed, and the very essence of Hell stabilized.
The light spread outward in waves, washing over the Axis Mundi. The cosmic tree's damaged branches and roots regenerated, its connection to Heaven strengthened once more.
The barriers between realms, weakened by Cumber's rampage, reformed stronger than before.
Satan watched with undisguised fascination, his golden chains clinking as he gestured expansively. "Magnificent!" he exclaimed, his usual mask of servility completely abandoned in his excitement.
"Truly magnificent! The Boundary-Breaker continues to defy all limitations!"
His face became geniunely animated with passion as he continued, "First he tears open the barrier between Hell and the living world - a feat thought impossible! Then he breaches Heaven itself, challenging the very hierarchy of the cosmos! Becomes a Destroyer and now- now he channels the power of Creation, healing what was broken!"
Satan's voice rose to an almost reverential pitch. "This is not merely power - this is transcendence! The very essence of what it means to be a Supreme Being! Not bound by the artificial distinctions between Destroyer and Creator, between mortal and divine!"
He turned to the others, his amber eyes blazing with intensity. "Do you not see? This capability stems not from the Legendary Super Saiyan but from Toji Fushiguro himself - from his will, his potential, his absolute refusal to accept limitations!"
As Satan's tirade continued, Bane felt his time running out. The massive use of power had accelerated his defusion.
He lowered his hands as the pillar of white light began to fade, leaving everything changed - healed in ways it hadn't been since near on forever.
"My time is up," he announced calmly, "But this is not an end. Merely a transition."
He looked at each of them in turn - Freeza, Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Paragus, Satan, and finally Lady Amaranth, whose eyes still held the hunger of their kiss.
"Farewell," Bane said simply. "For now I hope."
With those words, his body began to glow with brilliant white light. It expanded outward, enveloping him completely until his form was no longer visible within the radiance.
Then, with a sound like crystal shattering, the light split into two distinct streams that shot in opposite directions.
Where Bane had stood, two figures now appeared - Toji in his Vader suit, complete and undamaged, and Broly in his standard attire.
Both looked completely healed, though the golden halo floating above Toji's helmet revealed he was still technically dead.
Before anyone could speak, a slow, deliberate clapping sound echoed across the battlefield. Everyone turned toward the source.
Whis stood behind the group, his staff held casually in one hand while the other continued its applause.
His expression was one of genuine appreciation, his eyes twinkling with something that might have been pride.
"Phenomenal," the Angel said, "Simply phenomenal."
