Chapter 68: Elite class enrollment

Jin Minhe tapped Fan Yumei, making her jump as she woke from her trance.

"Huh?"

She looked up, confused, and glanced at the others who were staring at her.

"Did I miss something?" she asked, genuinely confused.

"Hahah, I told you she didn't hear you, man," Zhou Qian laughed, slapping Jin Minhe's shoulder.

"On what did he ask?" Fan Yumei turned to him, raised an eyebrow, and crossed her arms.

The others giggled and shared looks.

"I asked if we're all going to team up, and if so, can we have grilled wolf meat hotpot again and the beef stewed in a pot?"

Jin Minhe stepped closer, lowering his voice as Principal Renshu looked in their direction, hearing them talk while he was explaining things.

They all ducked their heads, avoiding his talking glances.

Fan Yumei smiled a bit at the kid who only knew how to fuss about food.

"Sure. I was already going to make sure we team up to take care of each other."

She looked at each of them and nodded.

The others nodded back, smiling at their now-confirmed team.

Then they heard a voice behind them.

It was Liang Chenwu. They hadn't even noticed him standing there.

"Uh… can I join your guys' team? If you don't mind, that is," he asked, clenching his fists at his sides in nervousness.

They all shared looks before looking at Fan Yumei—as if for her to decide, which it didn't matter to her. This meant more training and sparring partners.

Liang Chenwu and the others all felt a chill from nowhere.

"Brrr… Why did it get cold suddenly?" Zhou Qian hugged his body to himself for warmth.

His question was ignored by everyone while Jin Minhe was giving Fan Yumei a suspicious look after feeling a chill and sensing she was plotting something and up to no good.

"Why not? The more the merrier," Fan Yumei said.

"But just know—I don't take kindly to slackers. Get in where you fit in. I need everyone to contribute—whether it's cleaning, scouting, hunting, gathering, collecting water, firewood, etc. All of it matters," she listed off seriously.

"And we will be training every morning before school starts. No ifs, no buts. Alright?" She whispered it out, strictness and absolute tone heavy and thick in her voice.

"Alrighty!" they all whisper-shouted, knowing they had to be ready for anything.

Then they turned back to the front where Commander Qian was speaking about when they could leave the realm.

"Every secret realm world is different. Some are still alive—with people fighting to stop their world from falling," Commander Qian said.

Gasp. This surprised many, as they always thought the realm worlds were mostly dead or abandoned worlds and lands—maybe lost worlds.

"Those ones are most dangerous, as they are corrupted by their worlds and fight a losing battle. Grab what you can and leave—or you'll be corrupted as well." He paused, letting the words sink in.

The room was silent as it became tense, with students beginning to understand the weight of the secret realm worlds.

"Either way, we don't get many of those. But still doesn't hurt to know," he continued.

"The other types are dead and abandoned worlds, which pop up often and hold most of the resources and inheritances."

Commander Qian spoke, taking the lead in breaking down the types of realms.

"We have other kinds—yet to be discovered—and have reports of them being able to evolve or merge with other inherited worlds."

"Woah! Really?!" an excited student couldn't help but blurt out as he seemed highly fascinated with the realms.

"Sorry," he bowed, turning red as he lost control in his excitement.

"Haha," a few chuckled at him and let it pass with no mention.

"Be careful not to get lost somewhere you can't return from." Commander Qian cut through the laughter.

"We can't enter, as we're too much for the realm's capacity to handle. Our mixed auras would collapse it. But you all can, which is why we suggested teaming up." Commander Qian looked around the room at the students, then stepped back, having finished his piece.

"That will be all for today. Thank you all for coming, and please, all of you, report to your designated class. They have already been notified of this morning meeting." The students present began moving towards the door to exit as the principal said something.

"Now we're moving into the part for students who received a message from me personally. Please stay. The rest of you may go," Principal Renshu announced.

The students began fanning out, chatting amongst themselves about the upcoming secret realm.

While others were anxious, one student openly said he would rather skip the realm and stay home to study like a good student.

Many mocked him, but Fan Yumei, standing nearby, overheard everything and applauded his honesty.

He didn't want to risk his life recklessly for resources. He wanted to study, work odd jobs, to earn honest money and graduate.

He wasn't wrong. Even as a cultivator, he didn't want to face life and death so young.

After everyone fanned out, only four students remained:

Fan Yumei, Jin Minhe, Liang Chenwu, and another student— Dai Lihua.

The door closed softly.

Click.

The four students looked around at each other, then to Principal Renshu, Commander Qian, and the teachers still present.

Principal Renshu cleared his throat.

"I wanted to speak with you all about your enrollment into the Special Advancement Class and Elite core class.

Jin Minhe and Dai Lihua in the special advancement class.

Then Fan Yumei and Liang Chenwu into the Federation Elite Core Class."

Principal Renshu and the others clapped before continuing:

"You all, from now on, will report to the ELiSA Sector Building, located on South Campus.

"These are the head homeroom teachers for both of your new classes: Instructor Luo and Instructor Pei. And also your training instructors and your mission advisors."

Principal Renshu pointed to the two teachers standing behind him.

He continued,

"Those staying in dorms will move to the dorms linked to that department."

His eyes shifted to Fan Yumei as he spoke more directly to her.

"If you live off-campus, you'll need to arrive earlier from now on. As training begins at sunrise every morning."

They all nodded in unison, understanding what was being asked.

"Good. You will start officially today in your new classes. You will now receive missions from the school and guild—while earning both money, cultivation resources, and school merit points. Which are hard to receive and typically don't come until Professions Academy."

"Congratulations, and keep up the great work. We have high hopes for all your futures. And here is your new student badge with updated ranks and accesses."

Principal Renshu handed over their badges.

They were purple and gold, with their rank and rank name titled and earned. They each took one.

"These are your passes to enter the department and each building—and even the dorm, as the ECiSA department and dorms are very different from others."

"Okay, now that was all. You can all go—except Ms. Fan. Please stay for a moment."

He gestured again for her to take a seat.

They exited the room, and Jin Minhe caught Fan Yumei's attention.

He gave her a look.

"I'm gonna go snack."

He nodded once, then walked off.
