The world in which the characters evolve is divided into four main planes:
Elkaïn: The World of Mortals
- A world rife with racial conflicts and civilizations.
- Viewed as the "chessboard" of higher beings.
- Forged by the Ancestral Spirits, primordial entities now extinct, whose breath is said to have fertilized the land and given birth to mana.
- For millennia, Elkaïn has been the battleground of an eternal war between angels and demons. The Hundred-Year War, which ended 356 years ago, devastated continents and left lasting scars.
Hell: The Demon Realm
- Described as a shadowy domain filled with unspeakable horrors—though in reality, it is not so different from Elkaïn, with a more medieval civilization.
Heaven: The City of Angels
- A golden city floating among the clouds, exclusive to angels.
The Other World: Realm of Spirits
- A dreamlike, volatile kingdom inhabited by entities such as sylphs, fairies, nymphs, naiads, and Manes—ancient guardian spirits of the world.

Races and Civilizations of Elkaïn
Amid Elkaïn's chaos, mortals evolved, resisting and transcending through the rise of 15 legendary heroes spread across the three major races:
Humans
- Dominate the continent of Arcadia.
- Their power is centralized under Emperor Rê IV (Lancaster von Arcadia), the strongest swordsman (8-star).
- The Rê Empire is a supreme military theocracy, its strength rooted in ancient angelic pacts passed down through bloodlines and the lineage of Heroes.
- Demonic pacts are considered abominable heresy, and practitioners are ruthlessly hunted.
- The Empire is structured around Four Great Noble Houses (Bentham, Indivar, River, Moonshade), which rival each other. Their influence rivals the Imperial Family's, and their mystical roots trace back to the original Heroes.
Elves
- Reside in Elfim, a secluded, refined, and verdant kingdom.
- Deeply connected to the spirits of the Other World, easily forming contracts with nature entities.
- Their innate mana sensitivity makes them exceptional mages and druids.
- Their wealth stems from alchemical knowledge (potions, elixirs).
- Elven witches, who practice forbidden sorcery and bind themselves to ghosts (Dark Elves), are exiled from Elfim and seek refuge elsewhere. Sahara Isis Wolberg is a half-elf enchantress and disciple of the Hyls Sisters.
Alfumans
- Inhabit the vast wildlands and were long oppressed and enslaved.
- Hybrid beings—part human, part beast—including:
- Drake Tribe (Wyvern descendants)
- Sekh Tribe (Nemean Lions)
- Neko Tribe (Nekomata)
- Lycan Tribe
- Allied with humans and elves during the Hundred-Year War to repel the demonic invasion.

Key Organizations & Institutions
The Holy Cathedral
- The Archangels' representative in Elkaïn. Led by His Holiness, Saints, and Paladins.
- Arthur Aurora, the "Child of Prophecy," belongs to the Paladins—a warrior order under the Saint's guidance.
Luciel Academy of Light
- A sacred stronghold founded by the Holy Cathedral to train the next generation (nobles and gifted commoners).
- Located in Cairo, an artificial city at the crossroads of continents.
- Divisions: Mages, Martial Artists, Druids, Blacksmiths, Paladins, Scryers.
- Merit-based (over social status). Operates on a ranking/merit point (MP) system. Top students earn luxury mansions; the lowest live in squalor.
Factions (Core of Academy Life)
Control resources, dungeons, expeditions—and even arrange "accidental assassinations." Only five major factions exist:
1. Arrow (Liam Dawnflare, elven, pure magic/intellectual elitism).
2. Dominus (Leonard von Arcadia, imperial, swordsmen/strategists).
3. Lumina (Arthur Aurora, paladins, allied with Dominus, enforces order).
4. Moonwatch (Setsuna Hizashi, Lycan Alfuman).
5. Crimson (Jaedan River & Isra Moonshade).
6. Scepter (Kara Geb Bentham, Daemon Leen Indivar).
Merchant Guild / Adventurers' Tower
- North of Arcadia's capital river. Sells artifacts, magical beast blood, rations.
- Led by Milania Moonshade (7-star mage).
- Adventurers explore ruins and dungeons (e.g., the Misty Continent) for relics.
- Dungeons: Magical rifts (ranked D to S) yielding crystals, rare materials, and relics. The Misty Continent is an anomaly with evolving dungeons.
The Hyls Sisters (The Triad)
- Feared, legendary witches—sworn enemies of the elven royalty.
- Develop and sell advanced tech (communication orbs, enchanted weapons, mana engines) on the black market.
- Best known for divination spells.
