'The following queued surgeries have been completed:
[Phase 1 Osteoforge Protocol]: Bone density is increased by injecting gene-edited stem cells into the skeleton, causing cells to rapidly grow new bone tissue, that are reinforced by sound waves to make the structure denser and stronger.
[Phase 2 MyoCore Induction]: Muscle growth inhibitors are switched off, allowing the body to build muscle at extreme rates. Gene-edited cells are introduced to resist the production of acidic byproducts during anaerobic respiration.
[Phase 3 Genostruct Reinforcement]: Tendons, ligaments, and connective tissue are replaced with genetically enhanced versions made from tougher, more elastic proteins. Fast-twitch muscle function is boosted, making the subject faster, more agile, and far more resilient to physical stress
[Phase 4 Aegis Weave Graft]: Dermal seed grafts are implanted beneath the skin, creating a regenerative lattice composed of a bio-adaptive diamond-carbon composite. The lattice weaves into the skin's cellular structure, creating a flexible, nearly invisible mesh that mimics and accelerates the natural healing process while dramatically boosting durability.
Post-Operative Treatment: Due to the treatment's high success, the recovery period has been greatly diminished, and full recovery is expected within 48 hours with sufficient care, including high-nutrient-rich foods, rest, and light physical activity.
Disclaimer: Due to the increased strength of the patient, it is strongly suggested that they have limited to zero contact with fragile objects, including unaugmented organisms, as there is a high possibility of causing unintentional harm.'
Standing next to the Cradle as it summarized MJ's operations, Harry used the command center to push several stimulants into MJ's IV along with a weak painkiller that would help her shake off the slight discomfort she would feel. Though considering that the surgery had lasted nearly 36 hours and turned MJ into a superhuman, Harry called it a massive success and was sure she could deal with some minor fatigue and soreness.
After a second, MJ groaned, and Harry watched as her eyelids fluttered open, letting her look around.
'Notice: The patient is now conscious and responding to stimuli, her condition is stable.'
"Ugh, shut up," MJ groaned as the Cradle's announcement echoed around inside the enclosed machine, "Five more minutes and then I'll get up."
"I'll let you sleep, but I can't let you do it here." Harry countered as he opened up the Cradle, much to MJ's protest, "I don't think I can willingly leave this thing, it's so comfortable."
Harry snorted and shook his head, "Cradle, please transfer patient to gurney for transport."
'Order received: Transferring patient.'
MJ jolted with a start as the padding underneath her deflated, turning into a sling-like hammock that lifted her into the air and out of the cradle before lowering her down onto a rolling gurney. The sling then slid out from underneath her before returning to its original position and inflating once more.
"Really?" MJ asked blandly as she stared at Harry, who moved over next to her and pulled up the sheets covering MJ in her hospital gown, which had been put on her by the Cradle once she was sewn back up.
"Please, like you haven't dreamed about me dressed up in a labcoat giving you a physical," Harry muttered making MJ's eyes go wide while her cheeks flushed a bright red, "I have not you chauvinistic asshole!"
"Easy, now you need to rest, save the energy for when you start your training." Harry chided, ignoring MJ's piercing glare, "Cradle transport patient, Mary Jane Wattson, to her registered quarters for recovery."
'Order received: Transporting Patient Mary Jane Wattson to dorm Alpha-1.'
With a faint hum, MJ's gurney came to life and began to move at a steady pace, moving in straight lines as it left the operating room and turned down the hallway, where she continued to glare at Harry until she was out of sight.
'Didn't think I could enjoy teasing her so much,' Harry thought to himself as he was about to go attend to his other duties, only for his work phone to ring. Knowing there was only one person with that particular number who would be calling him, Harry didn't hesitate to answer, "Madison, is everything alright?"
"It's not a crisis, but it is something that needs your attention, as soon as possible and within the hour," Madison replied, her voice somehow even more serious than usual.
Harry was already moving towards the elevator before she could finish talking, "I just finished seeing MJ out of surgery, where should I go?"
"Your office it's on the 94th floor," Madison replied, which made Harry pause, "Since when do I have an office?"
"As of ten minutes ago, when Silvija Sablinova, owner and founder of Silver Sabel International, a mercenary company,y showed up unannounced in our lobby and demanded to meet with you," Madison replied before the sound of her typing echoed through the phone, "I tried to turn her away, but other than marching her out of here in cuffs I don't think she's leaving. I just sent you her file so you have the elevator ride up to familiarize yourself with her business."
Harry saw the notification and clicked on it. "Thanks, but I'm pretty sure I know why she's here, on my way up now."
---
Opening the door to his office, Harry had two sets of eyes fall on him, one pair held a silent warning while the other scanned him up and down, assessing him like a predator deciding whether or not it should take a bite.
Harry shot Madison an assuring look before focusing on the second pair of eyes, which were a stark and chilling ice blue. "You must be Ms. Sablinova."
"And you must be Harry Osborn," Silvija replied with a dangerous smile, her voice tinted with the vaguest of accents that sounded Slavic in nature, "You're taller than I expected."
"Mr. Osborn," Harry corrected as he walked around Silvija and took a seat at his desk with Madison standing behind him and to his right, "Please take a seat. Clearly, you have some things you wish to discuss."
Silvija looked at the chair across from Harry's desk before lifting her gaze to meet his eyes once more. "Thank you for the offer, but I'll remain standing."
Despite the thinly veiled insult, Harry smiled, "Ms. Sablinova, you have shown up unannounced and demanded a meeting. The fact that I'm talking to you at all is a great courtesy, but don't take it as a sign of weakness. If you spit in my face again, do not think I lack the spine to make you see the consequence of your rudeness."
For a moment, Silvija stared at Harry, letting his words linger in the air before her smile broadened and she took a seat, "So the pup does have teeth, good to know."
Harry shook his head ruefully. "While I am normally one to appreciate a good game of mental chess, Ms. Sablinova, you have caught me in the middle of a very delicate and time-hungry endeavor, so I would appreciate it if we keep our negotiation brief and concise."
Silvija seemed to mull over Harry's words for a moment before nodding her head once, "Very well, Mr. Osborn, I want to see if Project: Ascend can do what you claim it can. I have 150 soldiers ready and willing to undergo your treatment. In return, I'll offer you my services at a discounted rate. How does that sound, Mr. Osborn? That is, if you're even authorized to make such a deal, or do you need to run it by Father Dearest first?"
Madison stirred behind Harry, clearly ready to come to his defense, only for him to raise a hand with an audible sigh, "I thought we agreed to leave the mental gymnastics to the side, but clearly you haven't heeded my words, so let me make this clear. I am the Head and Founder of Ascend Agency, meaning I have the final say on every decision. And if you think you can go over my head or use me as a piece to negotiate with my father, then you are sorely mistaken."
"Very well," Silvija replied simply as if Harry's words were still of no consequence, "We'll negotiate, just the two of us. Do you need time to think about my offer?"
"No, I don't," Harry replied firmly, as he stared Silvija directly in the eyes, "Why would I ever give a potential adversary at worst and competitor at best, access to my proprietary technology?"
"Do not be so short-sighted, an alliance could be very lucrative, once people begin to catch onto what Ascend has to offer, they will seek you out, and not all of them will be polite as I have. But with your augmentations and my soldiers' discipline and training, no one would even try to touch your Agency."
Harry stared at Silvija for a long moment before shaking his head. "No, I'm afraid that's still unacceptable, and since you seem intent on continuing this conversation, I'll put my non-negotiable condition on the table. The only way this could possibly work is if Silver Sable Industries becomes a part of the Ascend Agency."
