Disembarking

The sun shone through the windows of Alvira's room. The sunlight blanketed her face as she yawned. 'That was probably the nicest night of sleep I've ever had in my life."

For a moment, she didn't have to think about having to heal someone, or be on standby in case of an attack. She could finally just rest in bed. In silence.

She let herself enjoy it for five more seconds. Until all of a sudden…

A muffled thud hit below the deck.

She sat up in a stretch.

Another thud. Followed by a groan.

'Ah. Starrk's teaching that poor soul again.'

She swung her legs over the bed, ran a hand through her hair, and sighed.

'Guess I'm back on standby. Poor guy must've broken a few ribs by now.'

A faint croak echoed from the upper deck.

'And that means Solara is up too. Wonderful.'

She stood, stretched once more, then exited her room.

The ship seemed active today. The rest of the crew was up and about preparing the ship to set sail.

Alvira walked by a fatigued Solara, who lay on the floor.

"Hey there Solara," Alvira smiled and waved, "You feeling okay?"

Solara yawned. "Guess I'm feeling alright."

With that, the door leading to the lower deck flung open. Starrk walked out, steam coming from his fists with a smile on his face. "Young Abraham, that was phenomenal! I think you might have set a new record."

Abraham was seen crawling out behind him. "I… can't feel… my stomach…."

Alvira placed a hand over her mouth, covering a slight smile. Starrk walked up to her. "Don't treat his pain please. That'll defeat the purpose behind his training."

Alvira frowned slightly and then nodded in agreement. Abraham looked devastated. "You monster.."

Baron cut into the conversation. "I think he should be treated. Look at him, he's practically dying."

Starrk turned Baron, and then back to Alvira. "No."

"You do know… that this is MY ship right. And you're talking to MY crew."

Starrk turned over to Baron, his face in a deadpan expression. "And you're trying to ruin the hard work MY student put into his training."

Abraham got a sudden notification from his system.

[Physicality Enhanced — Overall Physical Strength has Increased]

"Huh. Guys guess the training is paying off. I'll pass on the healing."

Starrk let out a smile. "Wise choice, Young Abraham." He looked at Abraham, who had now rolled onto his back. "I think you are now ready for the second part of your training."

Abraham let out a weak smile and put a thumbs up.

Xander lifted the ship's anchor. "I think we're ready to leave, Captain."

Leon resumed his position atop the look out point on top of the mast.

Abraham's chest heaved. 'Who knew training with a resonant hurt this bad…'

Kassi loomed over him. "Hey there, Abe. You feeling alright?" She lay down beside him, arms behind her head.

Abraham turned over to her. "Never felt better."

"Pfft, I know how you feel." She lifted her sleeves up to her shoulder. "See this?"

Abraham stared carefully at her grey skin. "Cool scar. Where'd you get that from?"

"Great thing you asked! Captain Baron over here decided to whip my arm. Well, I suppose it was somewhat deserved."

Abraham turned over to Baron, who was leaning against the railing.

Baron sighed. "She's part shark, y'know. It's part of her attribute. She wasn't quite used to it back then so she went crazy. Whipped in self defense."

Abraham sighed in relief. He wouldn't have known how to feel if he was travelling with abusive pirates.

Kassi rolled her eyes. "I still think you overreacted."

Baron smirked. "Still think you bit Leon's leg off. Poor Alvira had to fix that."

Leon, from the lookout yelled, "I still limp, by the way."

Kassi huffed. "Leg tasted good anyways, was a worthy sacrifice."

Abraham chuckled and smiled. Kassi stood up and offered her hand to Abraham. He grabbed it and Kassi pulled him up.

She smiles at him for a moment and walks off. "I'm hungry" can be heard from inside the cabin.

"Alright guys," Baron yells aloud, "Let's set sail."
