Chapter 58: Gem Vein Resource Card

"Understood, my lord," Li Le replied.

Afterward, Windsor and the others rested on the ship for a while. Once they had mostly recovered, they resumed their operation.

The journey that followed was smooth and uneventful.

Time passed quickly, and soon it was time to surface. Li Le began piloting the tower ship back to the surface of the sea.

When Windsor walked into the core cabin holding Huohuo and Darkmoon, she saw Gu Ning sitting on the sofa with his eyes closed. She knew he must be inside the arena at that moment.

Not wanting to disturb him, Windsor lay down on the bed with Huohuo and Darkmoon, whispering quietly to them.

When Gu Ning opened his eyes and noticed them, he asked, "How did it go this time? Was everything smooth?"

It was just a routine inquiry; he wasn't overly concerned, since nothing unexpected had happened recently.

But this time, something truly unexpected had occurred.

"We ran into a rather powerful sea beast this time, and there was a small incident," Windsor said.

"No one was hurt, right?" Gu Ning asked, a little worried upon hearing this.

"Nothing serious!" Windsor reassured him.

"What exactly happened?" Gu Ning pressed.

Windsor then recounted the situation in detail. When she mentioned how Huohuo had undergone a major transformation after getting hurt protecting her, she glanced fondly at Huohuo in her arms.

Gu Ning was amazed to hear that Huohuo had undergone a special change.

He checked Huohuo's stats and was surprised to see a real change.

Huohuo / Fire Elemental Spirit (Evolving) (Legendary)Level: 6Strength: 43Agility: 42Defense: 40Intelligence: 40 (+3)Mana: 430Class: Hero, Fire Element Master (Fire Martial God Awakening in Progress)Skills: Fireball, Scorching Body (Advancing), Fire Bind, Fire ShieldEquipment: Small Staff (White)Loyalty: 100Affinity: 100

First, Huohuo was shown as Evolving, clearly indicating she had begun to advance to a deeper form of evolution.

Seeing the newly added class "Fire Martial God Awakening in Progress," Gu Ning guessed that Huohuo's evolution might eventually make her a Fire Martial God—not just a simple elemental spirit anymore.

Also, Huohuo's Scorching Body skill was marked as advancing.

Gu Ning figured the major change in Huohuo's body was likely due to this skill. He had once wondered whether that ability served much purpose, as it seemed only useful for recharging him. But now, he saw its vast potential.

Of course, aside from external triggers, Gu Ning suspected this awakening was probably also related to his constant encouragement for Huohuo to use that skill.

He hadn't expected such an unexpected blessing. Now, he was eager to see what Huohuo would become after evolving!

"Huohuo, can you still change your body form right now?" Gu Ning asked curiously.

Huohuo nodded, then shook her head, humming anxiously as she tried to explain but couldn't find the words.

Gu Ning guessed at her meaning. "You're saying you can change, but you can't control it? It depends on chance?"

Huohuo's eyes lit up and she nodded repeatedly—that was exactly it.

Gu Ning nodded thoughtfully.

So, this was part of Huohuo's awakening. She wasn't fully awakened yet; once she was, she'd probably be able to shift forms at will.

But how long would it take for the full awakening?

Gu Ning figured besides training Scorching Body, Huohuo likely needed a large supply of energy. Unfortunately, he didn't have any fire-element items on hand, which frustrated him.

For now, they'd have to let things take their natural course, and have Huohuo keep practicing that skill.

After instructing Huohuo to work hard on Scorching Body, she flew out of Windsor's arms, kissed Gu Ning's cheek, clenched her tiny fists, and put on a determined expression.

"You're saying you'll give it your best, right?" Gu Ning asked with a smile, ruffling her hair.

Huohuo nodded seriously, then fluttered away, planning to practice on the deck.

Gu Ning couldn't help but laugh at how his encouragement had motivated Huohuo so much.

Seeing Windsor roll her eyes at him, Gu Ning spread his hands, silently saying he was innocent in all this.

Leaving Windsor and the others be, Gu Ning, with his mana restored, began making ice again and put it up for sale on the trade channel as soon as the ice blocks were ready.

Once his mana was drained, he took out the items Windsor had collected from hunting and began inspecting them.

Small Gem Mine Resource Card (Green): Use to create a small gem mine in your territory. Gems are a valuable resource—you're lucky to have found this!

Gu Ning was delighted—this would be very useful, especially since he knew how precious gems were for building his Sanctuary.

He wondered how many gems the small mine would yield.

Putting it away, he checked the next item:

Blacksmith Shop Construction Blueprint (Green): Use to build a blacksmith shop in your territory. A blacksmith can forge weapons for your troops!

Requirements: Wood x200, Iron x100, Fire Element Gems x5

Gu Ning was surprised it required fire element gems. A pity the blueprint was only green quality—he wished it were better!

He didn't dare use his Shapeshift Talent on it, since the talent's random nature might ruin the blueprint, and he needed it.

If only he could get another Talent Quality Upgrade Orb to improve the talent's reliability!

Next:

Healing Potion Recipe (Green): Lets an alchemist learn to make healing potions to reduce your troops' casualties.

It was his first time obtaining a potion recipe—he stored it happily.

Finally:

Radiator Blueprint (White): Use to build a radiator to keep warm in cold weather.

Requirements: Iron x5, Copper x5, Electronic Components x5

Gu Ning's face darkened—this thing was basically useless!
