Chapter 69 :Red-Eyed Blue-Pupiled Two-Headed Python

Gu Ning spoke with an air of generosity.

The others were momentarily stunned by his words, then quickly understood the underlying implications.

Everyone smiled faintly. No matter what, now was not the time for internal conflict—avoiding unnecessary disputes was for the best.

Kawanishi Nai also understood Gu Ning's intent. Pretending not to, he smiled slightly. Relying on his own special item, he believed the final outcome was far from certain.

"In that case, let's get ready and resume the battle!" James declared.

"Agreed. We'll continue to fight independently but offer support when needed," Licor echoed.

"But when we engage the Demon Domain forces, we mustn't backstab each other," Kawanishi Nai quickly added, clearly wary of Gu Ning pulling a dirty trick.

Everyone understood what he was implying and instinctively turned their gazes toward Gu Ning.

Gu Ning nodded and replied, "Of course. Anyone who takes the opportunity to attack an ally will become the enemy of us all."

He agreed without hesitation. He never intended to attack anyone mid-battle—that would ruin his image.

Besides, Kawanishi Nai was overestimating himself. With his current strength, Gu Ning didn't really consider him a threat.

"Alright then, let's fight!" said Bai Xue.

Everyone responded in unison, then activated their wooden ships and began advancing toward the Demon Domain.

At the same time, the Demon Domain forces also began moving, clearly with the same idea: eliminate the other side.

As they drew closer, James launched the first strike, hurling a javelin that killed an enemy instantly.

The battle reignited. Chaotic attacks rained down from both sides. The enemy Demon Lord at the front commanded swarms of flying insects to launch suicidal attacks on Gu Ning's group.

Several of the flying insects targeted Gu Ning as well. They resembled bees but were as large as a human palm. Before they could get close, however, they were incinerated by Huo Huo's fireball spells.

Seeing that he couldn't effectively target Gu Ning's group, the Demon Lord shifted to attacking the weaker participants nearby.

After all, the rules of the competition stated that the match would end when the number of participants dropped below a certain threshold—it wasn't necessary to kill the opposing leaders.

Gu Ning didn't intervene. He wasn't going to protect strangers. Anyone who entered this competition should have been prepared to die.

Although killing this Demon Lord could yield substantial rewards, it wasn't necessarily worth the effort. It was more efficient to take down a few regular lords instead—each one dropped a ship core and a territory core, and sometimes unexpected bonuses.

Some lords had already killed Spirit Domain leaders themselves, meaning more loot—Gu Ning wouldn't mind collecting as many as possible.

Kawanishi Nai was also fighting ferociously. Among all the lords present, his strength was indeed formidable.

Gu Ning paid him no mind. He had already instructed Little Blue to keep an eye on him from the shadows, so there was no need to worry about him escaping.

As time passed, more and more lords joined the battle from the periphery. The battlefield became increasingly crowded instead of thinning out.

However, as all participants entered the fray, the number of survivors gradually began to shrink—many had already fallen.

According to Gu Ning's estimate, the fight would likely end within the next hour.

But just then, Gu Ning suddenly received a warning from Little Blue, who signaled imminent danger.

"Watch out! Be careful of the sea!" Gu Ning shouted.

Windsor and the others immediately went on high alert. Even Licor and Bai Xue, who were nearby, became visibly more cautious.

Just as Gu Ning finished speaking, the sea suddenly surged violently, and countless water arrows burst into the air, shooting in all directions.

Each arrow was as thick as three fingers. Many were killed instantly, and several ships were pierced clean through.

Gu Ning's tower ship was also hit. A single arrow punched through the side, leaving a gaping hole. Luckily, it wasn't below the waterline—or else it would've started sinking.

The sudden turn of events caused the surrounding battle to halt abruptly. Everyone turned to look at the sea.

From the churning waves, a towering figure slowly emerged. It stood three meters tall, wielding a trident adorned with golden-blue patterns. Its body was humanoid, but with a serpent's tail. It had two snake heads—one red-eyed with crimson markings on the forehead, the other blue-eyed with black spots, both flicking their tongues and radiating malice.

The moment they saw the creature, everyone instinctively activated their spiritual sight to read its info. As they saw the results, gasps filled the air.

"Holy crap!"

"We're screwed!"

"What the hell do we do now? Who can even fight that?"

Gu Ning also stared at the information in shock—it was beyond anything he could handle.

Crimson-Eyed, Blue-Eyed Two-Headed Python (Purple Rank)Level: 14Strength: 112Agility: 114Defense: 113Skills: Water Float, Water Arrow, Fire Shield, Fireball, Water Prison, Firestorm Rain

Damn. Its stats were all around 110. The strongest among them, Windsor, only had a bit over 80 strength even with bonuses. The other stats weren't even close.

Even worse, this sea monster had a ridiculous array of skills—control, defense, offense—it had everything. It was clearly a nightmare opponent.

"Guys, if you've got any good gear or skills, now's the time to use them! Don't hold back or you won't get the chance later!" Gu Ning shouted.

This was a time for unity. If they didn't work together, no one was getting out alive.

Gu Ning had assumed this was a specially isolated arena for Spirit and Demon Domain to battle, but now a sea monster had barged in—and such a terrifying one at that. It was absurd.

The others understood too. Most quickly gathered their composure after the initial panic and began attacking. A few, however, tried to flee.

But before they could get far, more sea beasts appeared from other directions, immediately launching vicious assaults on nearby ships.

Everyone now realized—this wasn't a coincidence. It was clearly orchestrated by the Sky Mother.

There was nowhere to run or hide. Everyone had to focus on the sea monsters in front of them.

But easier said than done. Many attacks barely scratched the two-headed python.

Whenever it sensed danger, it would immediately cast Fire Shield. Then it would trap enemies with Water Prison and follow up with Water Arrows or Fireballs.

It whipped its massive tail, charging through the battlefield with brutal force. Almost no one could stand against it.

Just then, one of the lords suddenly threw out a red net. The moment it left his hand, it expanded rapidly, enveloping the python.

The beast thrashed furiously but couldn't break free.

The lord shouted with joy, "Everyone, hit it now! This item only lasts five minutes—don't waste the chance!"
