Hunter's Guild

Kai, Paul, and George approached the two town guards who were asking people their reason for coming to the Town and if they had identification.

"Reason for visiting and identification, please." The guard asked, holding out his hand.

"We're hunters and we just came back from a hunt. Here's our ID." Paul and George handed the guard a polished wooden slab about the length of the space between the thumb and index finger when they are parallel.

George's ID was completely wooden, but Paul's own had a metal orb that was engraved onto the slab.

"Confirmed. And you?" The guard asked, looking at Kai.

'Oh shit.' He steeled his mind so he wouldn't stutter. "Hi. I'm new to town, and I plan on becoming a hunter. I don't have any identification since I've lived in the mountains my whole life."

'Please let me in. Please let me in. Please let me in.' He begged in his mind.

"No ID, no entry. You'll have to go through the legal process to obtain one. Stay here until nightfall and we'll get everything sorted." The guard didn't even care about Kai's backstory and ignored his claim of wanting to be a hunter.

"Wait, sir. He's with us. He can get his ID at the Hunter's Guild." Paul said, trying to compromise.

But the guard didn't budge and reaffirmed his claim. "If you truly need to enter the town, then go to the nearest village, which is a week's journey from here, going south. There, you can get your hunter's license, which can also act as your ID."

'Fuck this! I'll just take over your fucking mind.' Kai's eyes flashed red, and he saw the aura that radiated around the guard. Luckily, it was pink, but the guard next to him was orange.

'Gotta do this quick and without raising any suspicion.' Kai approached the guard and stopped to his knees.

"Please, sir! I just need to get my hunter's license so I can feed my family. My sister is sick, and my mother can't take care of us both, especially after my father passed. 'Just let me pass and I'll never bother you again.'" Kai internally rubbed his nose, proud of his acting combined with hypnosis.

'Hehe, I'm a genius. Maybe I should have taken up acting back on Earth.'

"Alright, fine. I'll let you pass, but just this once. Go and get your Hunter's License." The guard said, waving his hand.

Kai bowed at a 90-degree angle. "Thank you, sir! I shall now forget this kindness."

And with that, the three of them crossed the gates and entered the town.

The whole place was bustling with people of all races. Humans, Elves, Dwarves, and Beastmen. Children were running around with their friends, adults were shopping, stalls of food had long lines of people waiting, and Kai saw tons of people wearing weapons and armor walking around the Town as if it were normal.

"Woah." He said in awe. While this wasn't impressive compared to the 21st Century, it was an amazing sight to take in, especially since he was in a fantasy world.

"Those are adventures." George pointed with his thumb. "They go and hunt monsters and earn good coin. Dangerous though."

"High risk, high reward," Kai said.

Paul laughed and patted Kai on the back. "Exactly. But hunting isn't so bad either, especially if you don't have mana. Besides, hunting is a good way to hone your skills if you ever plan on becoming an adventurer. Some people awaken their mana, register as an adventure, and then die within the first few months."

After walking for a bit, they arrived at a large wooden building with quite a few people entering and exiting, with even more relaxing inside, sitting at tables and drinking beer while chatting with one another.

"Aye! It's Paul and George! Welcome back!" A man greeted them.

"Had a good hunt today?"

"I see you two are still alive, good."

Paul greeted the people inside while George and Kai headed to the receptionist desk.

"Hello, George." A human woman with brown hair, no older than 20, greeted him, blushing as she did. She then looked at Kai and blushed even harder, probably because of his good looks.

"Hey, Martha. I'm here to turn in these horned rabbits."

"Okay, give me one second. 1...2..." She counted the number of rabbits he had and grabbed some copper coins as his compensation. "10 rabbits, copper per rabbit, so that's 50 copper coins. Since you're a member of this hunter's branch, you won't get any tax cut." She smiled

"Thanks, Martha. Oh, how could I have been so rude? This is my pal Kai. I met him on the way here. He's new and is trying to be a hunter. Can you help him out?" George asked

"Sure. Just let me know when you're ready to take the Hunter's Exam. In the meantime, is there anything I can help you with?"

Kai was about to say no and ask to take the test, but then he remembered the wolves he had in his inventory. 'Maybe I can sell those for some money.'

He extended his arm to the right, and half of it vanished.

"What the-" Everyone who happened to notice was shocked since they had just seen Kai's arm vanish.

"Here we go." Pulling out six wolves, Kai placed them on the table. "Can I get some money for these?"

"Woah. He killed six forest wolves? That guy must be strong." Someone said

"Dude! That guy can use space magic!"

Martha nodded. "S-Sure, let me do some counting."

Each wolf was 50 copper coins, and since he had six of them, that gave Kai a grand total of 300 copper coins, or three silver coins, since 100 copper coins are equal to 1 silver coin.

"Would you like them in all silver or copper?" Martha asked

"One silver and 200 copper, please."

"Here you go. Since you plan on becoming a hunter, you won't be taxed."

"Sweet." Kai grabbed the bag and placed it in his inventory. "Can I take my test now?"

"Sure, follow me."

"You got this, Kai. I believe in you!"

"Thanks, George."

Martha led Kai to a back room where testing was done. No one was there, and it was just the two of them. Martha told him to wait as she prepared the material for his exam.

'Hmm. Should I hypnotize her?' His red eyes appeared, and her aura was pink. 'So she's an easy target. This is good.'

As soon as he was about to do so, another thought crossed his mind.

'I should come up with some hypnosises? Hypnosisesses? Hypnosisi? Whatever. I'll make a universal hypnosis that will make things easier for me, so I don't have to keep hypnotizing the same people all the time.'

Hypnosis 1 - Kai will be the closest friend of whoever he hypnotizes, and they will trust him more than anyone in the world.

Hypnosis 2 - Nothing Kai says or does will cause suspicion, and there are always valid reasons behind his actions.

Hypnosis 3 - It's normal for him to be sexually active with any woman he wants at any time, no matter who the woman is. As long as they are of legal age, of course.

Hypnosis 4 - You don't feel the urge, drive, or need to have sex with your partner and would rather not touch or see them sexually ever again, including kisses. And you'll only be sexually attracted to Kai if you're a woman.

With those hypnoses, he will be able to live comfortably and do literally anything he wants without having to worry about anyone going against him or wanting to kill him, if he wanted that is.

He definitely planned on cucking husbands and watching as they got angry at him for fucking their wives. But for right now, he wanted to merge into society, understand this world, and get strong before he did anything crazy.

After coming up with those hypnosis points, Martha returned and explained the exam. It was a written and practical exam. One to test knowledge and the other to test skill. But before he took them, he hypnotized Martha.
