Chapter 47: Soul Bones? We Have Tons Back Home

While the crowd was still reeling from the shock—

Feng Xiaotian stared at the glowing soul bone in his hand, his scalp tingling.

He knew what soul bones meant to soul masters. These were legendary treasures—each granting an extra soul skill and vastly amplifying one's power.

To this day, Feng Xiaotian hadn't acquired even a single one. So seeing a genuine soul bone right in his palm? It was nearly surreal.

But when he heard that little boy, Shi Yi, casually say he wanted to give it to him? Feng Xiaotian hesitated.

This kid's just giving it away… because I gave him some water? That can't be right. A soul bone is far too valuable to just hand out like that.

Something didn't sit right, but Feng Xiaotian couldn't bring himself to question Shi Yi directly.

He gently pushed the boy's hand back and whispered, "Kid, this isn't something you should be showing in public. If someone dangerous sees it, you'll be in big trouble."

He added softly, "And besides… this is way too valuable. I really can't accept it. You should put it back."

Around them, the onlookers were practically staring daggers at Feng Xiaotian.

You don't want the soul bone? Then give it to me! I'll take it!

But Shi Yi didn't listen. He stubbornly pushed the soul bone forward again.

These soul bones had all been left behind by the soul beasts who attacked Shi Batian. Naturally, Shi Batian had told his children what soul bones were and how precious they could be. A soul master could only absorb six in a lifetime.

But… their family had discovered something strange. None of them could fuse with a soul bone. Their bodies simply rejected it.

Shi Yi even had a gut feeling—when he reached nine rings, his body might undergo some kind of transformation…

"You little rascal…"

Feng Xiaotian, worried the boy might attract more attention, quickly pulled him onto his carriage.

Just as they were about to talk further, the door slid open—and a tall girl with flowing, dark crimson curls stepped in. Her figure was sleek, well-proportioned, and confident. The moment her eyes fell on Shi Yi, she tilted her head in curiosity.

"Huh? Where'd this adorable little guy come from?" she said, already reaching out to pinch Shi Yi's cheeks.

But as her gaze swept lower, it caught the glowing bone in his hands. Her smile froze.

"Wait… is that a soul bone?! Brother Feng, you've got a soul bone?!"

Feng Xiaotian beamed when he saw her. "That's right. But it's not mine."

"Big sis, are you big bro's good friend?" Shi Yi blinked up at her with a cheeky grin, clearly amused by the lovesick expression on Feng Xiaotian's face.

Feng Xiaotian laughed awkwardly. "She's not just a good friend—she's a very good friend."

The girl, Huo Wu, ignored Feng Xiaotian's teasing tone. Her gaze was still fixed on the soul bone. "Where did you get such a rare item, little one?"

"You mean this glowing bone?" Shi Yi raised the box in his hand and smiled innocently. "We've got more at home. I don't really know where it came from… I think my dad picked it up somewhere."

It was a harmless little lie. The soul bone had to have a plausible origin, and Shi Yi couldn't exactly say it came from soul beasts he and his brothers had hunted themselves.

The two older teens stared at him in stunned silence.

Did… did he just say they have more at home? That his dad picked it up somewhere? Is this kid from a treasure hoarding clan or what?

They exchanged glances, reading the disbelief in each other's eyes. This little boy didn't seem to understand the magnitude of what he had in his hands.

Huo Wu took a deep breath and tried to keep her voice gentle. "Little brother, that soul bone you're holding is incredibly rare. It can give someone immense power. You can't just go around handing it out, okay?"

Shi Yi tilted his head, blinking. "It's really that strong?"

He thought for a moment, then held it out toward her. "If it's that amazing, then you and big bro should take it. We've got plenty at home."

Feng Xiaotian and Huo Wu were once again thrown into stunned silence.

He was actually offering it again.

"I… I can't take that," Huo Wu said quickly, waving her hands. "It's too precious."

Shi Yi frowned in confusion. "But if it's useful for you, why not keep it?"

Feng Xiaotian added, "She's right. We can't accept something so valuable from you. You should really hold onto it."

But Shi Yi simply shoved the soul bone into Feng Xiaotian's hands, looking up at him with unwavering eyes. "No. You gave me water, so I have to repay you. Unless… you don't like my gift?"

Then he started rummaging through his bag again, pulling out more items.

Feng Xiaotian and Huo Wu were dumbfounded.

Thousand-year spirit fruits, aged ginseng, spiritual gourds, rare herbs…

Shi Yi had picked all of these up during his travels with the Black Turtle. Thanks to his dual pupils, he had a terrifying ability to identify rare treasures. For him, finding precious items was no big deal.

The two teens looked at each other, mouths slightly open.

What the hell is going on… Who even is this kid? Some hidden clan's young master? Why does he have so much treasure on him?

They still assumed Shi Yi must've brought it all from home.

"If you really won't take the soul bone, we can trade instead. I'm super hungry. Give me something tasty and I'll give you the bone," Shi Yi offered earnestly.

Feng Xiaotian and Huo Wu both laughed helplessly. This kid… what kind of logic is that?

Huo Wu patted his head gently. "Alright, how about this—if you ever need anything, just come find us, okay?"

She and Feng Xiaotian then brought out all the food they had on them, including a variety of specialty snacks from their hometowns.

In the end, Feng Xiaotian accepted the soul bone—but not to use. He only planned to hold onto it temporarily. If someone from Shi Yi's family came looking for it, he would return it without hesitation. He wasn't the type to take advantage of a kid.

Shi Yi beamed up at them, his bright smile full of joy.

He genuinely liked this big brother and sister. He could feel their kindness.

As for the so-called "Shrek Seven Devils"… Shi Yi had no love for them at all.

They felt fake. Self-righteous on the surface, but petty and small underneath.
