Chapter 28 – Rise of a New Order

"Please, I beg you, let me go. I'll do anything you want… please."His voice trembled as he spoke, and I could hear him sniffle.

"Man, you've even started to cry now."I crouched down and looked at him. He met my gaze with pleading eyes."Tell me, what's your name?"

"Sir, my name is Leon Drager," he said in a trembling voice.

"Leon, I have a simple task for you. You don't need to do much—just connect with the person from the Greenwold noble family who controls the entire underground of this city. Tell him or her that I, Gray Soliski, am the new king of the underground. I will be in charge of the city's underground operations. If they have any issues with that, they can meet me outside the city eight days from now. I will provide the exact location of our meeting place soon. Do you understand?"

"Yes, sir, I will tell them," he replied, still trembling.

"Now go, run along, and don't try anything funny. I can track you without any devices," I said as I looked at the triangular device in his hand.

I could now understand how they found me… Nil and Fil had told me they had methods to find the killer of the gang leader. And seeing this triangular device, I'm pretty sure this is their way of tracking their targets.

I spoke in a very dominant voice, my eyes glowing red and gold. When the gang leader saw my eyes, he passed out with a thud, falling unconscious.

"Man, he is really weak for a gang leader," I said 

I expected more of a challenge, but these guys were just too weak for me. I glanced at Bella, Nil, and Fil, and they all nodded, as if they instinctively understood that I was stronger than any of them. Well, that was true.

I had told the gang leader he could meet me in eight days. That night, there would be a full moon, and even though the Greenwold noble family might have people stronger than me, on that night I would be the strongest.

"Nil and Fil, I have a very important task for you. Go to the city slums and find everyone who feels like their life is miserable and wants something more. It doesn't matter if they are men or women, old or sick—I want you to collect them over the next two days in this same basement. Tell them they will be meeting a person who will change their lives forever. They will no longer be weak; they are going to become powerful, and their levels will increase if they join me."

Hearing this, Nil and Fil's eyes lit up. They seemed to understand what I was trying to convey.

What had happened to them could also happen to others. They had gone from level 13 to directly reaching level 23—a significant increase of 10 levels that had previously been unimaginable. However, after meeting me, they realized this world contained many things beyond their comprehension.

Upon hearing my voice, they nodded and dashed out of the basement.

Once they left, only Bella and I remained. Bella started to blush for some reason as she noticed me looking at her.

Hearing me say this, she blushed even more.If this were an anime, steam would probably be coming out of her head.

I don't know why, but I could sense her feelings today. She was reacting to my words with a certain appreciation for me. Hearing his hopeful voice, they believed him. They put me in the care of a relative and went with that person to help with whatever task they were given...

But after they went with him, I never saw them again. It's been 14 years now, and I've never seen my mom and dad again. Sniff

Seeing this, I just shook my head and said,"You are now my family. The moment I bit you, you became part of my pack. And in a wolf pack, there's one rule—we leave no one behind..."

Saying that, even I became emotional, as I remembered my dad and my pack… as a wolf.

And so, I hugged Bella even more tightly...We were now hugging each other like kids.

Then, I noticed that Bella had fallen asleep, so I gently laid her head on my lap and also dozed off.
