Ch-43 "Prophecies Yet to Unfold"

The scene shifts to five days later.

Kazuki had just returned from school, the lessons of the day still lingering in his mind. Today's lecture had been about one of the oldest and most mysterious allied territories — the Elf Kingdom, a realm inhabited by the elven race.

Kazuki walked through the mansion corridors, recalling the story his teacher had shared about a sacred place within the Elf Kingdom known as the Holy Spirit Room. According to the lecture, this ancient chamber was built centuries ago by a powerful elf who possessed the ability to glimpse into the future. His bloodline had preserved this ability, passing the power of foresight through generations.

"According to that lecture… there's a place in the Elf Kingdom called the Holy Spirit Room," Kazuki thought. "It's where users of holy spirits go to see their destinies, and the elf who created it was once so powerful his foresight was second only to the Elf God himself. Even now, his descendants carry that power. Brother Sazuki and Brother Arthur both visited it before to glimpse their futures…"

As his thoughts drifted, Kazuki's mind wandered to the past — the memory of when he was just five years old, the day of his spirit test. He remembered the chaos that followed when Elsa, the spirit with foresight, had tried to peer into his future in front of the Chaos Spirit.

It was one of the few times even Elsa's power had faltered.

"If Elsa's foresight couldn't reveal my future back then… maybe the foresight of the Elf Kingdom will," Kazuki pondered. "After all, the Elf Kingdom's seers are said to rival the Elf God in power. That foresight might work where Elsa's failed."

Suddenly, Elsa's voice echoed within Kazuki's mind, her tone sharp and cautionary.

"That Chaos Spirit could destroy even Julius. What makes you think the Elf God's foresight would be any different?"

Kazuki's expression didn't change, but a spark of defiance flickered in his gaze as he responded inwardly.

"I'm not going to the Elf Kingdom just for that one reason."

And with that, the conversation between them ended — leaving an ominous silence and an unresolved thought lingering in the air.

The chapter closes here.
