Alex Ray stopped his attack, then canceled his transformation, and his body gradually returned to normal.
He slowly walked up to Wanda, showing a look of surprise and affection.
"You finally decided to come back, Wanda," Alex said softly.
"Are you okay? Alex, are you injured?" Wanda stepped forward, checking him carefully.
"It's okay, it's okay. Look, I'm fine," Alex replied with a happy smile.
Wanda circled around him, carefully observing every part of his body to make sure there were no injuries.
Finally, she felt relieved.
Her eyes then shifted to Magneto lying on the ground, her expression complicated.
In truth, when Wanda saw Alex preparing to deal with Magneto, a fleeting thought crossed her mind—that she wanted Alex to get rid of Magneto, this unfaithful man.
After all, Wanda hadn't seen her so-called father in more than twenty years; there were no warm feelings left.
Finding your biological father is one thing; choosing to acknowledge him is another.
But until the last moment, Wanda chose to save Magneto first. After all, her brother hadn't yet met their biological father.
They should still give Pietro a chance to choose. He had the right to know who his father was.
Magneto, standing aside, felt his heart break—he was the one nearly killed.
Pyro and Nightcrawler hurried forward to support Magneto.
Tony Stark also arrived, teasing Alex, "Hey, Alex, that's your little lover? Not bad." His tone carried playful teasing.
Alex didn't respond to Tony's words; his eyes never left Wanda's. Their gazes met in the air, silently conveying unspoken emotion.
"Ahem, hey, hey, hey, be careful. There are others here!" Tony on the side finally couldn't stand the young couple's silent exchange.
Alex turned his head awkwardly, his eyes darting as if searching for something.
"How about we go inside the restaurant and sit down?" he suggested.
Alex knew Wanda had been searching for her biological father and had found Magneto.
That also explained why Magneto, who had no connection with him, had come here—and why Alex had sensed no murderous intent during their battle.
Wanda, standing nearby, walked into the restaurant first, followed shamelessly by Magneto and his two subordinates.
Alex looked at Tony, who shook his head. "Forget it. I still have a lot to deal with. Now that it's safe here, I'll leave first."
He put on his armored helmet and prepared to fly back.
Before leaving, Alex quickly said to Tony, "Wait! Thanks!"
Tony glanced at him and took off immediately.
Alex could see system prompts:
"Ding."
"Congratulations, host. Tony Stark's favorability has increased to three stars."
"Congratulations, host. You have obtained an item: a new element blueprint."
"Congratulations, host. You have earned 20 friendship points."
Alex was a little surprised by the reward—it wasn't attributes but a blueprint.
He gave the blueprint to Tony to study on his own.
Though Alex felt the reward was a bit underwhelming—he knew the latest elements came from the video Tony's father had given him—he focused on the present task.
With that thought, Alex entered the restaurant.
. . . . . . . .
In Midtown Hell's Kitchen, inside the Vongola family headquarters.
Vongola I, the powerful leader, rivaled all the gangs in Midtown.
His goal was clear: to completely wipe out every gang in Midtown so none could ever regain a foothold.
This time, the Vongola family had mobilized its entire army.
Except for Vongola I, stationed at base, the other seven family guardians were assigned to various frontlines across the city.
Each led a team, ready for a life-or-death battle with rival gangs.
Vongola I sat on a luxurious sofa, his eyes sharp and steady as if piercing through all fog to see the truth beneath.
Calmness and confidence marked his face—a temperament shaped by time and experience.
His fingers tapped lightly on the sofa's armrest, silently conveying determination and perseverance.
"This time, I will fulfill my promise to Alex," he thought.
When Vongola I and Alex were young, they made a naive pact—to clean out every gang in Hell's Kitchen and bring peace to the chaotic streets.
For Vongola I, that promise was not mere words, but a belief and pursuit.
Alex, his best friend, had cleared all gang forces in the East District within a year, bringing long-lost peace to Hell's Kitchen.
However, Vongola I had failed to meet their shared goal. Though his family made progress in Midtown, they had not completely eradicated the gangs.
This weighed heavily on him, making it hard to breathe.
He knew Alex bore no blame.
But Vongola I felt ashamed to face Alex, and despite knowing Alex had returned to Hell's Kitchen, he dared not see him.
If not for the gang gathering a few days ago, he would have stayed hidden in shame.
"But after today, everything will be fine," Vongola I said firmly, eyes shining with determination and hope as if already seeing victory.
Flames of war and smoke rose from every corner of the city.
Vongola family members were brave and fearless; weapons flashed coldly in the firelight.
The rival gangs, though numerous, lacked coordination and were swiftly torn apart by Vongola's warriors.
On another rooftop, Arnold, the Cloud Guardian, stood alone.
A loner who took no backup, he'd single-handedly cleaned out his assigned rival gang.
Into his phone, he muttered lowly, "Next time, if it's a trash mission like this, don't call me back."
His voice carried impatience and disdain—this task was beneath him.
Meanwhile, on another battlefield, the Vongola family defeated gangs without guardian power support.
Their captain, the Thunder Guardian Lambo, lay on the ground asleep, oblivious to the battle.
Finally, the Mist Guardian D. Spedo and other guardians completed their missions and returned to base.
Sitting casually, he told , "Central city isn't enough. Why don't we annex other territories too?" His eyes sparked ambition, as if the whole world lay at his feet.
At this moment, the Vongola family was the largest underground force in Midtown.
Before Alex could read the system prompt, it appeared:
"Congratulations, host. Vongola I's favorability has increased to full stars."
"Congratulations, host. Vongola I has become your family."
"Congratulations, host. You have gained family points."
"Congratulations, host. You now have 6/10 family members."
