Chapter 5

He watched me pack my bags with cold eyes, frowned, and his tone was icy.

"There's an alliance meeting for the pack next week. I need to bring some allies along, and you're coming too."

He's trying to use me as a shield again, but how could I possibly agree?

"You guys go ahead. I've got things to do next week, so I won't be joining."

He glanced at me, then sneered.

"You know I'm taking Ella out, so you're throwing a little tantrum, aren't you?"

I'm so done with this old wolf. Who on earth gave him the delusion that I'd be jealous of him and Ella?

"Isn't it better if I don't go? You and Ella can be more intimate without any inhibitions."

I pretended not to understand his current situation, controlling my expression to look naive as I questioned him back.

He was caught off guard by my counter, and his expression wasn't pleasant.
