The Black Dragon’s Operation

After returning to Black Whale City, Xiao Feng first sought out the engineering technicians from Victoria Corporation and the staff of Brumm Company, all of whom were diligently engaged in retrofitting dozens of the city's fighter jets.

Upon finding them, Xiao Feng handed over two Black Angel rifles from behind to their supervisor. The supervisor regarded him with curiosity: "Where did you acquire these two Black Angels?"

"Heh, that's not important. I simply want you to modify these two Black Angels for me as well."

"Their power is already formidable. What sort of modifications do you require?"

"Convert them into automatic sniper rifles, and alter their ammunition feed to use belt-fed magazines instead."

The supervisor was taken aback by Xiao Feng's request: "If I understand correctly, you wish to transform these sniper rifles into larger-caliber heavy machine guns, is that right?"

"Heh, yes and no. Heavy machine guns can never match the precision of the Black Angels."

"No, if the Black Angel fires continuously, the recoil is tremendous. For an ordinary person, firing ten consecutive shots would shatter their arm. You must be cautious—I advise you..."

"I am aware of that. Thank you for your concern. Do I look like an ordinary man to you? Heh, just go ahead with the modifications. I assure you, I can handle them."

"Very well, if you insist, we will give it our all. If at any point you find them unwieldy, we can always revert the changes."

"Good. You may proceed. I have more pressing matters to attend to."

Having said this, Xiao Feng went to confer with Rice and the others about dealing with the Seven Gods.

Just as he approached Rice's office, Alice burst out excitedly, rushing toward Xiao Feng: "Brother Xiao Feng, it's been so long! I've missed you terribly!" She then threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly.

Xiao Feng patted her slender shoulders gently. "Heh, have you not been eating well lately? You seem even thinner."

"I miss you so much! It's been such a long time. Have you missed me?"

"Of course I have. How could I not?" Xiao Feng embraced her as they walked toward Rice's office.

"You're lying! Be honest—have you been seeing Kelly? Because I'm really not happy about that," the little girl pouted, suddenly jealous.

"Heh, why would I be unhappy? Isn't Sister Kelly nice?"

"No matter what, I don't want you with her. Even if it's Ivy, that's fine. But you mustn't be with Kelly."

"Alright, alright, I get it. Stop fussing—I have serious matters to discuss with Rice and the others."

Rice, Old White, Turner, Bradda, Xiao Feng, Rush, Tu Gou, Ivy, and Alice gathered around the small conference table in Rice's office. Rice meticulously recounted the sequence of events and showed Xiao Feng the video footage.

Xiao Feng furrowed his brow, listening intently. "Boss Rice, what is your take on this?"

Rice's expression grew grave. "Poseidon didn't engage us directly this time. Clearly, he's wary of our current strength. He hurried to complete his task and left. But they won't let this slide. Next time, all Seven Gods will come together. They won't allow us to continue growing."

"You're right. If all seven come, we definitely won't stand a chance. But I have a hunch—such proud beings wouldn't stoop to attacking us all at once; that would be humiliating for them."

"So, you think they won't all come this time either?" Rice inquired.

"It's just a guess. Still, we must prepare as if all seven will arrive," Xiao Feng replied, sighing after a moment. "I have no choice but to resort to my last method..."

Everyone gazed at Xiao Feng like he was their beacon of hope. "What plan do you have left?"

"I must elevate my own supernatural ability. If I can reach level eight or beyond, we'll have a chance."

Rice and the others stared in astonishment. "How can you possibly attain level eight abilities?"

Xiao Feng glanced at Rush and smiled wryly. "I do have my ways. But this is something I'd rather keep from everyone. The more who know, the more rumors spread. If the Seven Gods come prepared, it won't work. Rush, come with me—I have something to tell you."

The two then left the conference room.

The others remained unaware of Xiao Feng's intentions but pledged their full support, for they all understood that resolving this crisis rested solely on his shoulders.

...

Of course, events did not unfold as Rice and the others had envisioned. That day, Xiao Feng received the Black Angels, now upgraded by Victoria Corporation. The overall length of the rifles remained unchanged, but the body had been reinforced and thickened. The ammunition feed had been replaced by a belt-fed box magazine beneath the barrel, each box holding one hundred rounds, rendering the rifles extremely heavy. For an ordinary person, wielding these automatic sniper rifles—even lifting them—would be a monumental challenge.

Yet Xiao Feng effortlessly lifted one Black Angel with a single hand, admiring it fondly. "Not bad. Truly impressive. I am very pleased."

"Xiao Feng, we must warn you again—the recoil of these rifles is incredibly difficult to manage."

"I understand. Thank you all. You've done excellent work."

At that moment, Xiao Feng's communicator screen lit up. Mark appeared, his expression anxious: "Xiao Feng, look at this footage."

Xiao Feng's screen displayed a shocking sight: a massive tide of beasts thundering across the wasteland, a vast black cloud moving rapidly—an astounding number.

"Where did this beast tide come from?"

"We don't need to know its origin. What matters is its destination."

"You don't mean to tell me... it's heading for Black Whale City?"

Mark zoomed out on the satellite image, showing a small black mass marking the beast tide. He drew a red line from it, ending at Black Whale City. "Your guess is correct. This beast tide's target is undoubtedly our city."

"How long before they reach Black Whale City?"

"They're not moving quickly—approximately three hours. And they're not harassing any of the protected zones along the way. I'm convinced this is another scheme by the Evil Dragon Cult. They're behind this for sure."

"Damn those Evil Dragon Cult bastards—they never cease. Notify Rice; prepare to annihilate the beast tide. After this, I'm going after the cult leader myself. If I don't, we'll never have peace."

Before Mark could reply, a team member interrupted: "Professor Mark, look here..."

Mark adjusted his glasses and stared at the screen, then exclaimed in shock: "Good heavens..."

Xiao Feng frowned. "What is it now?"

"You should see for yourself." Mark turned the video to the command center's large screen, where several black clouds slowly approached from all directions, clearly intent on surrounding Black Whale City. These dark clouds grew steadily larger as they advanced.

"What does this mean? How many beast tides are there?"

"Nine. Nine have been confirmed so far."

"Damn it! The Evil Dragon Cult has truly lost their minds—bringing so many monstrous beasts. What do they intend?"

Mark trembled slightly as he adjusted his glasses. "I suspect they plan to utterly destroy Black Whale City, leveling it to the ground."

"Hmph. Such grand ambitions. Damn it, I will never let them succeed. Prepare for battle—this will be a brutal fight." Xiao Feng turned to the Victoria Corporation engineers beside him. "How many retrofitted fighters are ready for combat now?"

"Thirty-five have been completed."

"Put them all on combat alert."

Shouldering the two Black Angels, Xiao Feng strode out, contacting Bradda: "Big guy, you've got work to do. Rally your artillery—there's a tough nut to crack."

Bradda sounded puzzled. "What's happening?"

"Multiple beast tides are advancing on Black Whale City. If we don't stop them, the city will be reduced to ruins in three hours."

"What?" Bradda barked orders to a nearby aide: "Mobilize the troops—emergency assembly." Then he turned to Xiao Feng. "Explain the situation in detail."

Xiao Feng frowned. "I don't have time. If you want to know, ask Professor Mark—he knows better than I do. I have urgent matters to attend to."

Exiting the hangar, Xiao Feng jumped into Lin's modified sports car and sped toward the Alliance Supernatural Management Bureau in Black Whale City.

The car roared as it burst from the airport under Xiao Feng's urgent command. Behind him, the airport sprang to life; one fighter jet after another was towed out of the hangars, readying for battle.
