The Unfathomable Human Heart

Zeus strode ahead, his expression grim and stern. "That damned old man—invited like this, and he still refuses to act? Damn it."

Hades sneered coldly. "Or perhaps we should just finish him off ourselves."

Poseidon raised his hand and slapped Hades on the head. "Could you maybe try using some sense? He's a level ten psychic, and his ability is Purification. Do you know what that means? He can instantly erase your powers, turning you back into an ordinary man. If you become ordinary, what strength do you have left to challenge him?"

Hades hesitated, pondering. "No, wait—I think I'm having a mental block... I don't quite agree with that idea. Let me think—why is that..."

By then, Zeus, Poseidon, and Apollo had already boarded the plane. Poseidon glanced back at the still-pensive Hades and said, "Hurry up and get on. What are you still thinking about?"

Hades, deep in thought, boarded reluctantly. "Don't rush me—I'm having a bit of a short circuit."

"Come on, when isn't your brain short-circuited? Tell me."

Hades bristled in anger. "Brother, could you stop hitting me all the time? I almost remembered something just now, and now I've forgotten it again..."

Zeus spoke to the pilot, "Let's go."

The pilot started the engines and prepared for takeoff.

Suddenly, a figure shot out from the envoy's quarters, sprinting toward the plane at a speed twice that of Xiao Feng's, like a phantom. Within seconds, the figure stood before the massive aircraft.

Xiao Fei's face bore a cold sneer, his eyes brimming with disdainful mockery. He drew a curved long blade—about 120 centimeters in length—gripping it with both hands. With a towering leap that surpassed the plane's height, he launched himself upward.

A silver flash sliced through the air as Xiao Fei fiercely swung his blade at the plane's wing.

No one inside the plane witnessed this. They were all still brooding. Just as the plane rose barely ten centimeters off the ground, it trembled violently and crashed back down.

Outside, Xiao Fei's slash had severed the left wing of the plane with brutal force. The wing snapped off with a sharp crack and fell to the ground. Sparks crackled at the break, smoke curling from the wound.

Inside the trembling cabin, Zeus steadied himself and demanded sternly, "What's happening?"

The pilot panicked. "The plane's left wing has broken off."

"Damn it! Open the door!"

The plane's hatch swung open. Poseidon was the first to rush out—and he immediately saw Xiao Fei standing arrogantly across from the doorway, the severed wing lying beside him.

"It was you—you cut the wing!" Poseidon snarled.

Xiao Fei smiled faintly. "Yes, it was me. The envoy greatly admires the four items you brought, so he wished me to keep you here."

Poseidon leapt from the cabin and landed before Xiao Fei. "Aren't you being a little reckless? Don't think just because the envoy is a level ten psychic you can do whatever you want. Don't forget, we have the entire alliance army behind us. Believe it or not, we could raze your farms to the ground in three minutes."

Xiao Fei kept smiling, clearly unimpressed. "Believe it? I do. But do you believe I could take all four of your heads in just one minute?"

Zeus descended the plane coldly and stood beside Poseidon, fixing his gaze on Xiao Fei. "Who are you? Who gave you such audacity?"

Xiao Fei met Zeus's gaze without flinching. "You may call me the bodyguard. As for my identity, I am the envoy's personal protector."

"Oh? A bodyguard to a level ten psychic envoy, huh? You must be formidable," Zeus mused, glancing at the damaged wing and Xiao Fei's blade, inwardly admiring both the weapon's quality and the wielder's strength.

Hades and Poseidon stepped down as well. Hades, glaring at Xiao Fei, snarled, "Damn it, you bastard! You're begging for a quick death, breaking our plane like this! Can you afford the damages?"

Xiao Fei pointed his long blade at Hades. "Shut your mouth! You disgust me. If you keep yammering, I'll be the first to kill you."

Frowning, Hades retorted, "Bring it on!"

Glancing at Zeus, who wore a solemn expression, Hades heard his quiet command: "Go. Teach him a lesson. Don't let them think the seven gods of our alliance are easy prey."

Upon receiving Zeus's permission, Hades sneered and charged at Xiao Fei.

Calm and collected, Xiao Fei stood his ground, utterly indifferent. When Hades threw a punch, Xiao Fei vanished in a flash, dodging as if disappearing into thin air.

Hades was stunned—then, from the corner of his eye, he saw a cold silver blade slash toward his arm.

Xiao Fei swiftly raised his blade, aiming to sever Hades's arm. Without mercy, he struck a brutal, savage blow.

Hades barely had time to retract his hand before the blade bit into his arm.

Fortunately for Hades, unlike any ordinary psychic, his bones were forged from unique metal far tougher than the plane's fuselage.

Xiao Fei stared in shock; his blade had not severed the arm but was embedded deep within it, impossible to withdraw immediately.

Frowning, Hades delivered a fierce kick to Xiao Fei's abdomen. "You think you're arrogant? Let me show you."

Caught off guard, Xiao Fei was propelled backward by the blow. Even with his reinforced skeletal strength, Hades's force was formidable. Xiao Fei's blade remained lodged in Hades's arm as he fell. Hades grasped the hilt and wrenched the blade free with effort.

He was momentarily stunned; the blade had pierced his arm bone, yet the edge remained unblemished.

Holding the blade, Hades said to Poseidon, "Trap him. He moves too fast. You hold him; I'll finish him off."

Poseidon chuckled. "Isn't it a bit embarrassing for the two of us to fight one?"

"Tch. If I fight him alone, I might not win. What do you suggest?"

Poseidon nodded with a grin.

Xiao Fei, struggling to rise, suddenly felt the air turn damp. Instantly, water engulfed him, swirling around his body. As he tried to break free, the water hardened into ice, forming a massive block that trapped him utterly.

With Poseidon's aid, Hades swiftly gained the upper hand. "You really thought the seven gods of the alliance were so easy to bully, huh? Damn it, today I'll send you to your death."

Raising his blade, Hades aimed a lethal strike at Xiao Fei's head, which was the only part still exposed outside the ice.

Bearing the title of Death God, Hades showed no mercy or compassion toward Xiao Fei. To him, killing this wretched fool was no different than slaughtering a chicken—without a trace of guilt.

Suddenly, a voice rang out sharply: "Wait... hold your hand..."

Hades froze, blade raised. He looked at the approaching envoy with a disdainful smile. "You want me to stop? Fine. I, Death God Hades, have no shame."

The envoy, still puffing his cigar, was flanked by three others dressed like Xiao Fei but without blades.

His expression remained unreadable, crafty as ever. "Here, if you kill my men, I won't let you leave."

Zeus smiled wryly. "Business aside, honor remains, right, envoy? Surely you won't damage our plane deliberately."

The envoy shook his head. "I didn't order Xiao Fei to damage your plane. He simply wished to keep what you carry. The broken wing might have been unintended."

"Well then, with the plane damaged, what do you propose?"

The envoy chuckled. "I'll compensate for the plane. It's just a plane—I'll make it up to you."

Zeus smiled. "Envoy, this plane is quite expensive..."

"First, release my men."

Hades pressed the blade to Xiao Fei's throat. "No—we want the plane first." His reckless nature remained unchanged.

The envoy raised his hand, receiving a communicator from a bodyguard. As he connected, a familiar face appeared on the transparent screen. Zeus recognized it instantly.

The envoy took a long drag on his cigar. "Sam, I have a favor to ask..."
