The Luminous Shield

...

K grasped Xiao Feng's wrist urgently. "You must flee—truly, that man is far too formidable!"

"Heh," Xiao Feng replied with a solemn glare, "K, this is your first day knowing me, isn't it? They've maimed my brothers like this, and you tell me to run? Do you think that's even possible?"

K hesitated, then nodded in agreement. "Indeed, fleeing isn't your style." His eyes flickered coldly as they landed on a fallen Kill member, lifeless and breathless. "If you won't escape, then do this—avenge my brothers. Slay every last one of them!" With that, he released Xiao Feng's hand.

Xiao Feng rose defiantly. "Is this truly your voice, K? Don't worry. Your brothers are mine as well. I will make those bastards pay with their lives. Just wait."

He turned to Tugu. "Let's go." In an instant, Xiao Feng surged forward, his speed astonishing.

Tugu followed without hesitation, charging after Xiao Feng. Though not quite as swift, his mechanical frame granted him extraordinary velocity.

K propped himself up, watching Xiao Feng, a great rifle slung across his back, vanish swiftly from sight. A pang of guilt stirred deep within him.

Xiao Feng and Tugu raced toward the hidden refuge of Ares—a sanctuary conceived by Xiao Feng himself, who naturally knew its location well. As they neared, silhouettes approached from afar.

It was Zeus and his entourage. Ares had been released from his underground confinement, trailing behind Zeus with a fierce scowl. "I swear I'll personally kill that bastard Xiao Feng," he snarled. "Damn him, locking me up all these days…"

Hades chuckled beside him. "Heh, you'll get your wish soon enough. Look ahead."

Angry Ares and Zeus both lifted their gazes to see Xiao Feng's lean form closing in, clutching an unusual, massive rifle.

Before anyone could react, the weapon's three barrels simultaneously unleashed three elongated bullets, spinning rapidly as they hurtled forward.

Apollo furrowed his brow and threw his hands wide. A radiant shield suddenly blossomed, enveloping his companions in a luminous dome.

Ding! Ding! Ding! The black angel's bullets struck the shield's surface, embedding themselves but failing to penetrate. Apollo's shock was palpable—this was the first time he had ever witnessed projectiles capable of breaching his radiant defense. Had those bullets been even slightly more powerful, they would have pierced through and struck them directly.

Zeus scowled. "What weapon is that?"

"Looks somewhat like Athena's Black Angel, but where does that one have so many barrels?"

"No—three Black Angels fused into one!"

"There are only three Black Angels in the world, aren't there? This kid actually managed to gather all of them…"

The temple members debated in disbelief, while Xiao Feng frowned deeply. Such a radiant shield was unprecedented, and to his astonishment, even his Black Angel bullets failed to penetrate it—testament to the shield's extraordinary resilience.

Cursing under his breath, Xiao Feng spat, "Damn bastard… such a perverse mutant power. Let's see how much force your shield can withstand!"

He reached into a small pack on his back and withdrew a single bullet emblazoned with a nuclear radiation symbol—one of the ten nuclear rounds.

Tugu frowned upon seeing it, fully aware of its devastating potential. "Don't use that here—this is still a residential zone."

"If you can breach that shield, I won't have to," Xiao Feng replied. "If not, then I'll be forced to act…"

Tugu smiled wryly. "If you can't, then no one in this world can."

Suddenly, Tugu's armor expanded at the back, revealing a compact missile launcher mounted on his spine. His weapon control system activated fully, displaying a targeting reticle locked precisely on the spot where Xiao Feng's three bullets had struck.

Clearly, that was the shield's weakest point.

The missile arced forward, trailing fire toward the luminous barrier. Apollo swore in disbelief, "What the hell is this guy? He can fire missiles?"

Zeus and his cohort were equally stunned—none had ever encountered such a being. He gave no outward hint of mechanization, yet somehow bore missile launchers.

Before their eyes, the missile detonated against the shield, but the explosion wrought no serious damage—no cracks appeared.

Its effect paled in comparison to Xiao Feng's Black Angel bullets.

From afar, Xiao Feng remarked, "Your missile's power is pathetic. How can it do nothing?"

"Don't underestimate it. Even drops of water wear away stone. My missiles can't shatter this shield yet, but they're wearing it down."

Xiao Feng smiled, loading three bullets back into the Black Angel rifle. "Fine. If you can break this shield, I'll take down one bastard in a flash."

"Just wait and see…"

Behind Tugu, a salvo of missiles launched in rapid succession, bombarding the shield relentlessly.

Explosions thundered.

Every temple member beneath the shield was utterly shaken—no one expected Tugu to carry such an arsenal, nor that every missile struck within a centimeter of the same point.

After the relentless barrage, a fissure suddenly cracked across the luminous shield.

Apollo cursed, "Damn it… it actually shattered my luminous shield!"
