Tu Gou's devastating assault unleashed a ferocity that left all onlookers—except Xiao Feng and his companions—utterly stunned.
The mercenary captain who barely escaped turned to watch the armored vehicles engulfed in thick smoke billowing across the wasteland, his eyes wide with disbelief. "How is this possible? How could this be?"
Several mercenaries beside him wore the same incredulous expression.
Pandora and the Giant, witnessing Tu Gou's attack, charged toward the Ali tribe warriors. Under the Giant's overwhelming visual intimidation, the Ali warriors instantly lost all will to fight; they dropped their weapons, crouched, and raised their hands in surrender.
A few stubborn fighters attempted to resist, but Pandora swiftly subdued them with decisive blows—each kick sending a man flying over ten meters, each punch rendering another unconscious.
It was evident these warriors had never before encountered a woman with such formidable combat prowess. Surely, they would never wish to lay eyes upon this "ugly" European woman again in their lives.
Xiao Feng approached the mercenary captain, removing his sunglasses to meet the man's fearful gaze. "Still feeling cocky now? Forget your little mercenary squad—if all your forces stationed in Africa came charging, they wouldn't stand a chance against us. Do you believe that?"
The captain was about to retort, but the overwhelming display of Xiao Feng's psychic powers silenced him. Without the efficacy of guns and cannons, what skills remained?
Grabbing the captain by the collar, Xiao Feng hoisted him up. "Come. Take me to your mining site."
The captain's face twisted with reluctance. "I'm not going."
He guessed Xiao Feng's intent—to seize the mine. If they succeeded, the captain's career with Hilton Corporation would be over.
"I won't take you," he insisted.
Xiao Feng smirked, tapping the captain's cheek. "And why not?"
"If I lead you there, won't I be branded a traitor?"
"Ha. If you'd rather not be a traitor and choose to be a hero instead, I'll help you achieve that." With that, Xiao Feng drew the captain's pistol from his waist—a standard Alliance-issued handgun—and pressed it to the man's forehead. "If you want to be a hero, I'll grant you that. And you'll become an even greater unsung hero." His finger hovered over the trigger.
The captain closed his eyes tightly, bracing for the searing pain of the bullet piercing his skull.
Suddenly, a mercenary beside him pleaded, "Don't kill our captain! I'll take you there!"
The captain shuddered violently, shooting a fierce glance at his comrade. He didn't know whether to be grateful for survival or furious at the betrayal.
Xiao Feng regarded the pleading mercenary. "Fine, you can lead me," then turned to the captain: "You ought to thank your soldier."
Rising, Xiao Feng addressed Chief Monda not far off. "This time, you needn't come. Just the few of us."
Monda, fully convinced by now that Xiao Feng and company were gods of war, reluctantly agreed and led his warriors back to the tribe.
Xiao Feng then spoke to Ali. "From now on, your tribe belongs to the Amon tribe. Any objections?"
Ali shook his head, terrified. "None. None at all…"
"Good. If I find out you're not obedient, I'll wipe your tribe off this African plain. Do you believe me?"
Ali and his warriors trembled. "We believe you. And we'd never dare defy."
"Enough. You may leave."
Ali cast a wary glance at Xiao Feng, who ignored him. Hastily, Ali fled with his people.
Xiao Feng faced the remaining mercenaries. "Let's go."
The mercenaries looked troubled. "The mine's far. If we walk, the sun might roast us before we arrive."
Hearing this, Xiao Feng asked Tu Gou, "Why didn't you save us a vehicle?"
Tu Gou sulkily replied, "You told me to destroy all the armored vehicles, so I blew them all up."
"Excuses... Now what do we do?"
A trembling mercenary spoke up, "We can call for transport from the mine."
Xiao Feng laughed heartily. "Smart kid. Do that—quickly, arrange the vehicles."
Two hours later, a jeep and a truck raised dust as they arrived.
Xiao Feng and Pandora each took one, then drove toward the Hilton Corporation's mining site.
After a two-hour journey, they neared the mine by nearly four in the afternoon. When Xiao Feng steered the jeep onto the site, he was dumbfounded.
The mine's vastness surpassed even Black Whale City. Towering excavators—monstrous machines Xiao Feng had never before beheld—loomed like ten-story giants, each spanning dozens of meters. Dozens of these mechanical behemoths gnawed relentlessly at the earth.
Tu Gou stood beside Xiao Feng, awestruck. "Damn, this place is enormous."
"No wonder Hilton is so wealthy," Xiao Feng marveled. "One single mine this huge—and how many such sites do they have worldwide?" Then he turned to the mercenaries. "What minerals are extracted here?"
"Iron ore."
Xiao Feng frowned, consulting his wrist communicator before connecting to Hebrew, the second largest shareholder of Sam Corporation and Kerry's father.
Hebrew answered cheerfully, glancing at Xiao Feng's image with surprise. "Oh, it's you, Xiao Feng…"
"Uncle Hebrew, I want to show you something. Try not to be too shocked…" Xiao Feng directed the video probe toward the colossal mining site.
