The Alliance Army’s Counteroffensive

Xiao Feng swiftly harnessed the torrent of water, conjuring a massive iceberg that ensnared Satan with unyielding strength.

All those present were stunned by Xiao Feng's display—not only the members of the X Legion but also the residents drawn by the clash's roar, witnessing a spectacle rarely seen.

In scarcely two minutes, the towering iceberg was forged, its glistening surface radiant under the lights.

Gui Yao's expression darkened as he watched his leader imprisoned. Though Xiao Feng had spared Satan's life, confining him so thoroughly still posed great peril.

Having completed his feat, Xiao Feng addressed the X Legion soldiers behind him: "Arrange to transport him away. Bring several cranes. Guard him closely."

Curious, Pandora asked, "Why keep him alive? Why not just kill him?"

Xiao Feng smiled, unreserved in front of Gui Yao. "He's like bait—I need him to lure the rest of the fish. Only two of the Seven Killers have shown themselves so far. I intend to draw them all out. These latent threats cannot be left unchecked."

Pandora nodded thoughtfully. "You're right. Keeping them around would only jeopardize us in the future."

Leaning closer, Xiao Feng whispered to Pandora, "Keep an eye on Gui Yao. The moment he makes a move, detain him too."

Pandora frowned in doubt. "Isn't that a bit paranoid?"

"If the roles were reversed, would you save Satan?"

Pandora paused, then answered, "Of course I would…"

"That settles it. The rest is up to you. I'm heading back to rest."

Pandora nodded. "It's late. You should go. I'll handle things here."

As Xiao Feng opened his car door, a thought struck him. He called to Pandora, "Remember to reimburse for the two cars."

"I will," she replied.

Xiao Feng drove off, yawning inside the vehicle. "Being a robot's better—no fatigue, no need for sleep or food. Ah…"

The next morning, Xiao Feng rose early to stretch before breakfast. As he jogged around the camp, towering Whitey—a nearly three-meter-tall B-rank magical beast—paced alongside him, exuding formidable presence. Whether it would grow any larger remained unknown, but the thought alone was terrifying.

Whitey's steady trot beside Xiao Feng looked almost affectionate.

After two laps around the camp, Xiao Feng's communicator suddenly buzzed. Opening it, he saw K's message flashing: "Xiao Feng, come to the command center immediately."

"What's the matter? Is it urgent?"

"Yes. Hurry."

Without hesitation, Xiao Feng vaulted onto Whitey's back. Patting its powerful haunches, he commanded, "Let's go—to the command center."

Whitey surged forward, bypassing roads entirely. Leaping onto a building floor, it sprinted and vaulted at breakneck speed toward New City's command center. The route was the shortest—faster even than driving. Residents who glimpsed Whitey soaring across the rooftops were startled.

In no time, Whitey delivered Xiao Feng to the command center, firmly controlled by Kill Organization members. Outsiders were barred entry.

Inside the hall where K awaited, Rice and Old White were also present, all fixated on a massive display screen spanning half a football field.

Xiao Feng asked casually, "What's going on?"

K pointed at the screen's red circles. "This morning, we detected large troop gatherings at several Alliance military bases—infantry, heavy armored units, fighter jets, missile forces—all assembling rapidly. It seems the Alliance is resolute in wiping us out this time."

Frowning, Xiao Feng studied the enlarged images, which revealed swarming armored forces. These bases were not far from New City—just hours' march within its vicinity.

Rice grimaced. Settling into New City was recent, and this was the first time they faced such an urgent crisis from large-scale Alliance maneuvers. "Any ideas?"

Xiao Feng glanced toward Thunder Eye nearby. "Can you extend surveillance? I want to see more distant bases."

Thunder Eye nodded and activated satellite monitoring, expanding their view.

The screen showed farther bases now eerily deserted, utterly empty.

Xiao Feng contemplated. "At this rate, we must strike preemptively. Luckily, you discovered this early. A few hours later, it would have been too late. Look—the nearby bases are vacated. Even if distant bases try to supply them, it'll be difficult. So if we wipe out these assembled forces, we'll gain significant territory."

Rice spoke sharply. "Should we launch long-range missiles to destroy those bases first?"

"No need to destroy. We'll occupy them later—it's more convenient that way. Don't you see why the Alliance hasn't leveled New City? They know rebuilding costs a fortune, so they avoid indiscriminate destruction."

"Hm, good point. But how should we proceed…"

"Simple: water meets earth, troops meet generals. We just need to eliminate their missile, armored, and air units. Without those, their fighting capability collapses."

"I understand that, but how do we effectively eliminate them?" Rice pressed.

Xiao Feng regarded Rice with a frown. "Honestly, I don't know how you became a legion commander… Listen to me."
