The Formidable Duo: Xiao Feng and Pandora

Thunder Eye's fingers danced swiftly over the keyboard, ten digits moving with mechanical precision and speed. Lin stood beside him, counting aloud, while Stray Dog and the others gathered around, disbelief etched on their faces that Thunder Eye could overhaul the command vehicle's control system within mere seconds.

"Ten, nine, eight, seven..." the group chanted in unison, their voices rising in a countdown.

When they reached three, Thunder Eye struck the Enter key decisively. A clear chime rang out, and the command vehicle's computer screen flashed, emblazoned with the insignia of the X Legion.

A stunned silence fell over the onlookers. Seven seconds—only seven seconds—and Thunder Eye had transformed the missile command vehicle into the property of the X Legion. The swiftness was staggering.

Thunder Eye turned to Lin. "Let's move on. Don't just stand there—grab the computer."

Like a faithful apprentice, Lin scooped up the device and followed Thunder Eye to the next command vehicle.

Stray Dog and the others trailed behind, circling the scene, watching the spectacle unfold. Together, they resumed counting, delighting in Thunder Eye's effortless mastery as he seized each vehicle in turn.

...

At the final military base awaiting conquest, the armored vehicles had mobilized in full force. News had arrived that the other two bases had already fallen to the X Legion's preemptive strike. Now, the armored division's commander ordered a rapid retreat of all combat vehicles.

The armored base's commander could scarcely believe the near-simultaneous fall of the two other bases. He dared not imagine the ferocity of battle or the formidable power wielded by the X Legion that could so swiftly dismantle two fortified positions.

He sat within a rattling armored vehicle, his body jolting with every bump, pondering the mystery. No battle footage had been transmitted from the other bases. The situation baffled him utterly.

Suddenly, the lead vehicle ground to a halt, and a report crackled through the commander's headset: "Suspicious individual spotted ahead."

"What suspicious individual?"

"Looks like Xiao Feng."

"Which Xiao Feng?"

"X Legion's Xiao Feng."

Hearing this, the commander barked, "Stop the vehicles!" He pushed open the armored hatch and climbed out, lifting his binoculars. When he spotted Xiao Feng, rifle slung over his shoulder, he froze.

Swallowing hard, he then noticed the woman beside Xiao Feng—stunning, with violet hair and a pair of stylish sunglasses that lent her an air of disdain as she surveyed the armored convoy rolling down the road.

"Xiao Feng, aren't we overestimating ourselves? Just the two of us against this entire armored force?"

Xiao Feng chuckled softly. "If it were just me, I wouldn't be so sure. But with you by my side, I think we stand a chance."

"So, what do you want me to do?"

Xiao Feng's gaze fixed on the slowly halting armored vehicles. "Tell me, Pandora, if it were you, how would you bring these vehicles to a halt in the shortest possible time?"

Pandora shook her head. "I can't make them stop outright, but I can render them useless."

"For example...?"

"By disabling their targeting systems."

Xiao Feng smiled. "Exactly... then it's all yours." He gestured politely to Pandora.

From afar, the commander observed the unarmed yet strikingly confident violet-haired woman. According to his intel, this was Pandora—the most advanced automaton crafted by Victoria Corporation. A chill ran down his spine. He quickly ordered his troops, "Take out those two!"

The armored vehicles swung their weapons to bear on Xiao Feng and Pandora. Their side-mounted machine guns, guided by advanced targeting systems, locked onto the pair.

But suddenly, an electromagnetic pulse radiated from Pandora in a widening sphere with a resonant hum.

As the armored vehicles' targeting systems locked onto their prey, the pulse swept over them.

Instantly, all electronic equipment inside the vehicles failed; displays went dark.

This was not limited to a single vehicle—one after another, as the pulse expanded, the entire armored fleet lost targeting assistance. Their communications fell silent as radio systems faltered.

Xiao Feng, standing safely within the pulse's radius, was spared the electronic blackout. Had he been outside, his own electronic devices—his wrist communicator and the third targeting lens of his Black Angel rifle—would have gone dark.

In the commander's headset, a crackling noise sparked.

Stunned, he heard a soldier report, "Sir, our fire control systems have all failed."

"What?" The commander crouched low, peering into the darkened interiors of his vehicles. "How can this be?"

"It must be related to the electromagnetic pulse those two intruders deployed."

"Damn it! Even without targeting aids, we will kill them with manual aim!" Enraged, the commander leapt from his vehicle to survey the scene. Confirming their distance, he climbed back into his armored vehicle, manning a 90mm howitzer. Though smaller in caliber, the gun was nimble, and relying on his calculations, he quickly adjusted the barrel's aim and fired without hesitation.

Hearing the cannon's blast, Xiao Feng immediately scattered a shimmering metallic field around himself and Pandora—a reflex that saved them both. Though they endured the shell's impact, the metallic powers absorbed much of the pain.

The commander clambered out again, eyes wide in disbelief, as he saw the shell's projectile near Xiao Feng gradually cease its rotation...
