Episode 60: Temple of Mirrors

The winds howled as the towering temple finished rising—impossible, ethereal, stitched from timelines long abandoned. Mirrors coated every inch of its walls, reflecting endless versions of the sky, of Juvia, of Ha-jun… of who they were and who they could have been.

Juvia stepped forward, her fingers trembling as the silver moonlight shimmered against the obsidian glass. "It's alive…"

"No," Sae-rin whispered. "It's remembering."

The moment her foot touched the black stone staircase leading up the temple, a sharp pulse surged through her chest. The thread of fate that always guided her dimmed—then vanished. She gasped.

"I can't… feel time."

Ha-jun's brow furrowed. "Then we walk blind."

They climbed slowly. The stairs seemed endless. Around them, whispers echoed—haunting voices from lost timelines.

"You abandoned us…"

"We were you, too…"

"You let us die…"

Juvia shook her head, eyes tight. "No… I didn't mean to—"

Sae-rin gripped her arm. "Don't listen. This place thrives on guilt."

At the top, two massive doors stood—each carved with her face. One smiling. One crying. One door glowed with silver. The other… bled black mist.

Ha-jun reached for the silver door.

It vanished.

They stood before only the dark one now.

A test.

They stepped inside.

What greeted them was not a chamber—but a thousand mirrors, suspended in a void. Each one flickered with a different reality. In one, Juvia was Queen of a crumbling realm. In another, she was hunted. In one, she never met Ha-jun at all.

She turned—and there it was.

A mirror where she had died as a child.

And behind that mirror… something stirred.

Golden eyes. Pale skin. A face not unfamiliar—but not human.

The being stepped forward—through the mirror, not shattering it, but melting through it like smoke.

Juvia backed away, heart racing.

"Who are you?"

It spoke without lips moving. "I am the Warden. The Keeper of Forgotten Threads. And you… are a thief."

Ha-jun stepped in front of her. "She saved the timeline."

"You stitched it," the Warden replied, "but only after tearing countless others."

Its voice grew louder, layered like a thousand broken clocks.

"For every choice you made, others were erased. I am their guardian."

Juvia's lips parted. "What do you want?"

"To show you what was lost."

The mirrors all exploded into life, a cyclone of visions. Her hands trembled as she saw them all—versions of herself crying, dying, screaming, burning.

And in one mirror…

Ha-jun was the villain.

She fell to her knees.

"Stop…"

"You cannot run from the truths you buried. But there is a way to balance it," the Warden said, stepping closer.

"Take my trial. Face the Mirror of Undoing. Survive it… and the temple will close. Refuse, and all timelines—past, present, and future—will bleed into each other."

Juvia looked at Ha-jun.

His hand found hers. "We'll face it together."

But the Warden raised a finger. "Only she may enter. The undoing is personal."

Silence fell.

Juvia stood up, heart pounding. "Then show me the mirror."

The Warden stepped aside. Behind him appeared a tall, shimmering glass—blacker than night, glowing with deep crimson veins.

"The Mirror of Undoing," he whispered. "Step in… and relive your worst mistake."

Juvia swallowed hard.

Then stepped forward.

One foot.

Then another.

And as her hand touched the glass—

It swallowed her whole.
