Whispers of the Past

Chapter 8: Whispers of the Past

Sera woke up.

She was scared.

She had a bad dream.

In her dream, Morwenna called her name.

"Sera… come to me…"

The sun was shining.

But Sera felt cold.

Her heart was beating fast.

She was scared.

Her hands were shaking.

Sera got out of bed.

She put on her clothes.

She went to eat breakfast.

Her friends were there.

Kael looked at her.

"You okay?" he asked.

"I had a bad dream," Sera said.

"Morwenna spoke to me."

Valen looked surprised.

"Again?" he said.

Riven looked worried.

"She wants to get into your mind," he said.

Lira flew in small circles.

"That is bad," she said.

"We must help you."

Sera felt better.

She was glad her friends were there.

After breakfast, Sera went to the library.

Professor Mora was waiting.

"I have something for you," she said.

She gave Sera a big, old book.

"This is about your grandmother," Mora said.

Sera opened the book.

She saw a picture of her grandmother.

Her grandmother looked kind.

She looked brave too.

"She looks like me," Sera said.

"Yes," Mora said with a smile.

"She was strong. You are strong too."

Sera asked, "Why can Morwenna talk to me in dreams?"

Mora said, "Because your grandmother's magic is inside you."

Sera asked, "Can we stop her?"

"Yes," Mora said.

"But you need your friends. You cannot do it alone."

That night, Sera and her friends practiced magic again.

Kael made fire with his hands.

Valen made bright light.

Riven moved shadows.

Lira made little flying lights.

Sera learned to make a magic wall.

After training, they sat in the garden.

The stars shone bright.

The wind was soft.

Valen sat next to Sera.

"You were brave today," he said.

"Thank you," Sera said .

"But I am still scared ."

Valen smiled .

"I am here. You are not alone."

He held her hand.

Sera felt warm.

She smiled .

"I am happy you are with me," she said.

Lira giggled.

"That is cute!"

Kael laughed.

"Finally !"

Sera blushed.

But she was happy.

The next morning , it was foggy.

It was hard to see.

The sky was gray.

Sera touched the small crystal in her pocket.

It glowed softly.

"She is close," Sera said.

"Morwenna?" Kael asked.

"Yes," Sera said.

Professor Mora came quickly.

"Come with me," she said.

She took them to a secret room.

It was under the school.

"This is the Memory Room," Mora said.

"It shows the past."

There was a magic circle on the floor.

Sera stepped into the circle.

The air began to glow.

She saw a vision.

She saw her grandmother.

Her grandmother was young and strong.

Morwenna was with her.

"Stop," her grandmother said.

"You left me," Morwenna said.

"I tried to help you," her grandmother said.

"But you used dark magic."

The vision went away.

Sera stood very still.

She felt cold inside.

"What did you see?" Valen asked.

Sera said, "I saw the last time they met.

Morwenna was angry.

She chose dark magic."

Mora looked at her.

"You must choose too," she said.

"Be brave."

Sera said, "I will protect my friends.

I will protect the school."

Valen held her hand.

"We are with you," he said.

Kael smiled.

"We are ready."

Riven said, "Let her come."

Lira flew around happily.

"We are not scared!"

Outside, the wind was loud.

The sky was dark .

The fog was thick.

But Sera was not afraid.

She had her friends.

She had love.

She had hope.

She was ready.

The next day, Sera woke up early.

She felt stronger.

She was not scared much.

She looked at the crystal.

It glowed very bright.

"Morwenna will come soon," she said.

Her friends came to her.

"We will stay with you," said Kael.

"Yes," said Valen.

"We will fight with you."

Riven nodded.

"We will protect you."

Lira smiled.

"We are friends forever."

Sera smiled back.

She felt happy and safe.

They went to the training room.

They practiced magic together.

Sera made a big magic wall.

Kael made fire that danced.

Valen made light like the sun.

Riven moved shadows to hide them.

Lira made little lights fly around.

After training, they rested outside.

Sera sat next to Valen.

"Thank you for being here," she said.

Valen smiled and held her hand.

"You are brave. I believe in you."

Sera looked at the stars.

She felt hope in her heart.

"Together, we will stop Morwenna," she said.

Her friends smiled.

They were ready for the fight.

Days passed slowly.

The fog stayed around the school.

The wind whispered secrets.

One night, the crystal shone bright.

Sera felt a cold wind.

She knew Morwenna was near.

Sera's friends stood with her.

They held hands and made a circle.

Suddenly, Morwenna appeared.

She looked dark and angry.

"Sera," Morwenna said.

"Come to me."

Sera shook her head.

"No. I will not go."

"We will stop you," Valen said.

"We will protect Sera."

Kael made fire in front of Morwenna.

Riven moved shadows to block her.

Lira made bright lights.

Sera made her magic wall strong.

Morwenna tried to break the wall.

But Sera and her friends stayed strong.

Morwenna looked angry and sad.

She disappeared in the wind.

Sera felt tired but happy.

She won the fight.

Her friends smiled and hugged her.

"We did it," said Kael.

Sera smiled and felt warm.

She was not alone anymore.

She had friends.

She had love.

She had hope.

And she was ready for what comes next.
