Behind All the Lies, Here's the Real Truth

Nadi felt as if her mind had turned into a vast void.

Warm blood gushed down her hand, and she could only watch helplessly as Aisha took her last breath right before her eyes.

Adi kicked her aside as if she were a worthless rag doll. Nadi's knees and elbows were all scraped and bleeding, yet she couldn't feel a hint of pain.

She crawled on her hands and knees to Adi. "Adi, please believe me just this once. It wasn't me. Aisha grabbed my hand and forced the knife into her own chest. She set me up."

Adi clutched Aisha tightly in his arms, repeatedly crying out her name. Despite his usual aversion to dirt and blood, he didn't care at all about the bloodstains and filth on Aisha.

Just as Nadi thought Adi would ignore her, he narrowed his eyes, his gaze sharp and menacing. "Repeat that."

Nadi's mind was in chaos now. She never imagined that Aisha would resort to such a scheme, so she failed to notice the terrifying look in Adi's eyes.

Believing that Adi was willing to listen to her explanation, she hurriedly said, "It was Aisha who set me up…"

"Slap!" Adi struck Nadi hard across the face.

Nadi's head jerked to one side, and the unfinished words died in her throat.

This slap from Adi was so powerful that Nadi's mouth filled with the metallic taste of blood, and her ears started to ring. For a moment, she couldn't hear anything.

"Nadi, do you really take me for a fool?" Adi ground out each word through clenched teeth. "Aisha framed you? With her own precious life?"

"She's dead, Aisha is dead, she's gone!" Adi wrapped the barely breathing Aisha in his suit jacket. Then, like a ferocious beast, he suddenly lunged in front of Nadi and cruelly clutched her neck with his hand. "You venomous woman, I'll make you pay for her blood with your own!"

"Cough, um…" Nadi's face gradually turned pale, then blue, then purple.

She thought, she was going to die soon.

Regarded as an enemy by the man she adored, a tear slowly rolled down Nadi's cheek.

She mustered all her strength to lift her eyes. Adi's ruthless and icy gaze was like a sharp sword, ready to cut her to shreds.

Nadi had no intention of fighting for survival at all.

But she couldn't die.

She couldn't die with false accusations and slander on her!

"It wasn't me! It wasn't me!" Like a dying person experiencing a brief burst of energy, Nadi shouted desperately, "Adi, check the surveillance footage, it wasn't me who killed Aisha!"

"Mr. Rahman," At this moment, Adi's assistant rushed over quickly, drenched in sweat and panting heavily, "The surveillance footage has been retrieved!"

Adi showed no mercy and flung Nadi aside with one hand.

The assistant immediately handed him his phone.

The surveillance footage of this area started playing at once.

When Adi lowered his head to watch the video, Nadi struggled to get to her feet. Her clear eyes brimmed with tears that threatened to spill over.

She silently gave thanks in her heart. Thankfully, thankfully there was surveillance footage. She could prove her innocence.

She stared at Adi with longing eyes.

Adi's profile, with its strong lines and distinct contours, was perfect in every way, like a god descending from the sky.

However, when he turned his face, his gaze towards Nadi was like a piercing ice - cold blade stabbing into her soul, making him resemble a demon crawling out of hell!

Nadi didn't know why Adi looked at her like this. She felt scared deep in her heart and instinctively backed away.

Why? Didn't he already check the surveillance footage? Shouldn't Adi know by now that she was innocent?
