A deafening thunderclap crashed down from the sky.
The thunder was so loud that it woke Nadi up with a start.
Her eyelashes kept fluttering. Large teardrops clung to her long and thick lashes. She lifted her hand to press against her chest which was throbbing painfully as if being torn apart, and then stumbled down the stairs.
Her mother's act of jumping off the building was a shock too great for Nadi to handle.
Her legs went limp and she could barely walk, let alone run. After taking just a few steps, her knees gave way and she collapsed onto the muddy ground.
This happened over and over again. Nadi felt no pain at all, yet her knees were clearly scraped and bleeding.
Adi was also stunned for a long while. Fatimah had jumped off the building, really jumped.
This was completely unexpected!
Seeing Nadi in such excruciating pain that she couldn't even stand, he couldn't help feeling a bit of pity.
