CHAPTER 13 (Anita’s Failed Plan)

Charles was on the road, no longer understanding anything at all. Questions were flooding his mind, remaining unanswered. Anita was the only person capable of giving him a concrete answer. He thought she was trying to sow doubt in his marriage. For him, Anita hadn’t told the truth. So, she had played him. But what caught Charles's attention the most was the presence of this Tony, whom Anita had told him about and who was still at the hotel. He parked his car and sank into his thoughts. He was determined to get an answer to this matter that was driving him crazy.

Thus, he began talking to himself, as he usually did, because he was completely confused by everything that had just happened. The missed calls from Rose, her decision to go alone to visit her parents without him, even though she never accepted to travel alone, especially on weekends, and finally Anita’s call, which had nearly driven him mad.
