Chapter 69: A Powerful Transformation Technique!

The morning sun rose in the east.

The moment Uzumaki Kushina woke up, she instinctively looked around for Hajime's figure—and immediately spotted the man sitting cross-legged with his back to her outside the window. She couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

This person was… different.

Even though the mask he wore looked terrifying, he was completely unlike the other ANBU she'd encountered.

She didn't know much, but she was incredibly sensitive to people's intent.

Even though she wasn't yet a Jinchūriki, the way the ANBU looked at her had already changed.

"Alpha!"

Kushina got out of bed, her hair still a messy tangle, and called out in a cheerful tone.

Hajime turned and smiled. "Everything's ready. Go wash up!"

Kushina's eyes lit up. She spun around and dashed off to freshen up. "Got it!"

Five minutes later, Kushina pushed open the window and stood in front of Hajime.

"Hey, I brought you breakfast!"

Hajime said, "Eat while we talk."

Kushina took the breakfast and began stuffing her face, curiously staring at Hajime's left hand… holding a balloon?

"Mmff—Is this it?"

"You're saying I train… with a balloon?"

Kushina looked completely unconvinced.

Hajime held up the water balloon and smiled. "Don't underestimate this balloon. It's the key to mastering the Rasengan more quickly."

"Watch carefully."

"The first stage of Rasengan training is injecting chakra into this, and using the chakra's rotation to burst the balloon."

As he spoke, Hajime channeled chakra into the water balloon—and with a pop, it exploded, water splashing everywhere.

Kushina blinked. "That looked… easy."

Hajime chuckled. "Try it after breakfast and you'll see."

"Mmhm!"

"I'm gonna be the First Woman Hokage! Something like this won't stop me!"

Fueled with determination, Kushina scarfed down the rest of her breakfast and quickly picked up a water balloon to begin training.

It didn't take long for her to realize it wasn't as easy as it looked.

Still, she wasn't someone who gave up easily.

Seeing Kushina working up a sweat trying to train, Hajime thought for a moment and said, "Come on. I'll take you somewhere that might help."

Kushina looked up. "Where?"

"You'll see. Just follow me."

With that, Hajime leapt away, and Kushina quickly followed.

A few moments later, they arrived at a riverbank.

Hajime formed a hand seal, and wooden vines sprouted from the ground, twisting together into a wooden basin that was sunken in the middle.

Then he slashed it free with a blade, filled it with river water, and brought it back.

"Watch closely!"

He dipped his hand into the basin and stirred. The water inside quickly formed a swirling vortex.

Watching the spinning whirlpool, Kushina suddenly understood. "Alpha, you mean I need to make the chakra inside the water balloon spin like that!"

Hajime nodded. "Think of your chakra as your hand—an extension of your body. Control it to spin and stir the water."

"As the water swirls, it creates tension and friction. Combined with the force of your chakra, that's how you'll burst the water balloon."

Kushina nodded earnestly. "I got it!"

Hajime gave a satisfied nod. "Alright, let's head to school."

On the way, Kushina was completely focused on figuring out how to pop the water balloon—her interest in school had evaporated entirely.

From the shadows, Hajime observed as she continued to train during breaks and lunch, never letting up.

Good. Very promising.

Hajime felt that raising a powerful Jinchūriki might actually be a pretty worthwhile endeavor.

That afternoon, after school, Kushina raced home, leapt up to the windowsill, and beamed with excitement.

"Alpha! I did it! I popped the water balloon!"

Hajime immediately gave her a thumbs up. "Nice job!"

"Show me."

He handed her another water balloon.

Kushina took it with both hands and channeled chakra into it—and in less than three seconds, pop! The balloon burst, water spraying everywhere.

"Alright, time for the second stage!"

Hajime grabbed a bag of rubber balls from behind him, pulled one out, and said, "The second stage is bursting one of these, using the same method."

He demonstrated: with a rapid swirl of chakra, pop! A hole ripped open in the rubber ball in under a second.

Kushina nodded eagerly. "I get it!"

She grabbed a rubber ball from the bag and dove straight into training again.

Meanwhile, at the Hokage's office…

Hiruzen Sarutobi stared at the crystal ball, watching Kushina train, a question mark practically floating above his head.

What kind of training is this?

Looks like she's learning some sort of ninjutsu…?

Something Hajime Hoshita developed himself?

Hiruzen was curious.

After all, Hajime already had a track record of creating powerful genjutsu…

Watching Kushina, exhausted and slumped on the ground after an hour of training, Hajime pulled out two lunchboxes.

"Here, let's have dinner first."

"Thank you!"

Kushina took the box without hesitation and immediately began devouring the food.

Hajime removed his mask and started eating as well.

"I didn't expect you to be so young, Alpha!"

Kushina's voice sounded surprised.

Hajime chuckled. "Of course. I am a genius, after all."

"By the way, Kushina, you've studied sealing techniques, right?"

Kushina nodded. "Yes, Lady Mito taught me."

Hajime smiled warmly. "Then… if I have questions about sealing techniques, can I ask you?"

Kushina's eyes widened slightly, nervous. "Um… can I really?"

Hajime nodded. "Of course."

"The Uzumaki Clan is famous for sealing techniques. You probably have great talent in it. Teaching me won't be a problem."

Kushina nodded hard. "Got it! I'll do my best!"

"I'll definitely… teach you everything properly, Alpha!"

Hajime suddenly extended his hand with a smile. "Nice to meet you. I'm Hajime Hoshita. Glad to know you, Kushina."

"Hajime Hoshita… That's your real name? It's as delicate and refined as your face!"

Kushina reached out to shake hands. "Hello, Hajime! I'm Uzumaki Kushina, the future Hokage!"

Hajime said honestly, "I believe in you."

Nearby, Tsunade, who had just arrived, silently rolled her eyes at their conversation.

If she saw what this guy looks like when he kills, she definitely wouldn't be calling him 'refined.'

Just then, Hajime looked over. "Tsunade, want to eat with us?"

Kushina turned around in surprise, thrilled. "Lady Tsunade!"

Tsunade stepped forward. "You didn't get me one, did you?"

Hajime held up his own lunchbox. "If you don't mind, you can have mine."

Kushina quickly added, "You can have mine too!"

Tsunade waved her hand. "No need. I've already eaten."

She glanced at the rubber balls lying nearby. "What are those for?"

Kushina grinned. "Hajime is teaching me an amazing jutsu. These are for training."

Tsunade raised an eyebrow, and instantly remembered the Rasengan she saw the night before. She nodded. "That really is an incredible jutsu. Keep it up."

Kushina nodded enthusiastically.

After dinner, she grabbed a rubber ball and headed to the living room to continue her training.

Meanwhile, Hajime and Tsunade climbed to the rooftop.

"If you ever need the Senju mucus from the Shikkotsu Forest to help with Sage Mode training, just let me know," Tsunade offered.

Hajime chuckled. "Then I won't hold back."

"Oh right—I've made some insights into cell activation. Interested?"

Tsunade's eyes lit up immediately. "Is it based on my grandfather's cells?"

Hajime nodded. "Yes, it's a deeper development of the First Hokage's cellular abilities."

Tsunade instantly perked up and began asking questions eagerly.

Time flew by.

They spent over two hours discussing on the rooftop before Tsunade departed without delay.

After watching her leave, Hajime returned to the window. Inside, Kushina was still kneeling on the floor, working the rubber ball diligently.

"That's enough for today," Hajime finally said.

Kushina looked up, tired but beaming with energy. "Hajime, I still have plenty of chakra left!"

Hajime shook his head. "Balance is important."

"How about we go over some sealing theory together?"

Kushina's eyes lit up and she eagerly nodded, dropped the rubber ball, and sat by the window to discuss with Hajime.

Though she was young, Kushina had great talent and had been personally taught by Mito Uzumaki. Her foundation in sealing techniques was solid—far better than Hajime, who was largely self-taught.

And this foundational knowledge was exactly what Hajime needed.

Before they knew it, it was 10 PM. Kushina reluctantly went to wash up and get ready for bed under Hajime's insistence.

Once she was asleep, Hajime closed the window and created six Wood Clones that immediately dispersed.

Training never stops!

——

A new day dawned.

In the Forest of Death, just as a Wood Clone was about to disperse after completing its training, it suddenly paused—struck by a strange impulse—and leapt into the Nara Clan's deer fields.

"It's still in horse form?"

Looking at the creature that had once been a deer but now appeared as a horse, the Wood Clone was shocked.

Moreover, it was alone, kept at the edge of the area, clearly ostracized by the other deer.

That probably explained why the Nara Clan hadn't noticed it.

"The transformation is this persistent? It might even be permanent…"

The Wood Clone muttered, then knocked the horse unconscious and carried it back to the Forest of Death.

He slit open the body—

And was stunned to find that the internal anatomy had completely changed.

It was a horse—inside and out.

That meant the deer had been fundamentally, thoroughly transformed into a horse.

And most likely, it was a permanent transformation.

That… was no small matter.

"But… how do I even begin to understand how this works?"

The Wood Clone had a vague feeling that he had stumbled upon something incredible—but at the same time, it seemed useless for now.

He didn't bother thinking too deeply. He cleaned up the remains and turned himself into a large tree.

——

Outside Uzumaki Kushina's house—

Hajime, receiving the final Wood Clone's memory feedback, stood frozen for a moment.

Turning a deer into a horse…

This ability is absolutely insane!

After all, in the shinobi world, transformation techniques only altered appearance.

But unlike ordinary Transformation Jutsu, Calling a Stag a Horse was a complete transformation of a living being.

If he could fully understand the principles behind it, it would be nothing short of revolutionary!

However…

Hajime sighed helplessly. "There's no starting point at all."

"If I had more time, maybe I could ask Orochimaru to help modify a deer into a horse, and then see if the transformation can be stabilized."

"Wait… actually, there is a possible direction to try."

"I could find a deer suitable to be a summoning beast, and then I'll perform the Transformation Jutsu myself."

"Ordinary transformation techniques can be made precise…"

After thinking it through carefully, Hajime felt it was worth a try.

Even if it failed, there'd be no real loss.

The key question was—where could he find a deer suitable to become a summoning beast?

Raising one himself in such a short time was clearly out of the question.

"The Nara Clan…"

Hajime immediately created a Wood Clone and sent it to find Tsunade.

He knew a Nara named Nara Taku, but that guy was clearly useless for this.

There were Nara Clan ninja in Root, but he had no real connections with them either.

Tsunade, given her position, could act as an intermediary.

After breakfast, Hajime followed Uzumaki Kushina to school in secret.

Meanwhile, the Wood Clone arrived at Konoha Hospital and found Tsunade, explaining his request.

"You want to use a deer as a summoning beast?"

Tsunade was completely stunned.

The Wood Clone thought for a moment and explained, "It's not exactly that I want to use a deer as a summoning beast. I need a deer with chakra that can cooperate with me to perform a ninjutsu experiment."

"I was wondering if the Nara Clan had such a deer."

Tsunade raised an eyebrow in suspicion. "A ninjutsu experiment?"

"And it has to be a deer?"

"I'm not sure if they have one like that. I'd have to ask."

The Wood Clone, shameless as ever, replied, "The details of the jutsu are confidential for now. But Tsunade, can you help me ask?"

"Don't worry, no harm will come to the deer."

"I only need to borrow it for four days."

"No, not borrowrent. I'll pay one million ryō!"

Tsunade gave a snort. "You sure have money to burn."

Hajime just smiled.

Kakuzu had contributed significantly to that wealth.

"I'll ask for you. Now get lost."

Tsunade waved him off impatiently.

"Thanks. I'll treat you to drinks next time."

With that, the Wood Clone vanished.

Tsunade stood there for a moment, then left a clone behind and headed to the Nara Clan's main household to pay them a visit.

An hour later—

Tsunade left the Nara compound smiling, with a large elk in tow.

The elk was a summoning beast.

Borrowed.

No payment required.

For the first time, Tsunade realized—making money could be this easy?

Outside the Ninja Academy, Hajime looked at the elk Tsunade brought and couldn't help but give her a thumbs-up.

As expected of Princess Tsunade. That reputation carries weight!

A clean trade—money in hand, elk delivered.

Tsunade took her money and strolled off like a boss.

Hajime and the elk locked eyes.

"I heard you want to conduct a ninjutsu experiment with my help?" the elk suddenly spoke.

Hajime was mildly surprised.

But if they could communicate directly, that was ideal. Hajime nodded. "It's a special transformation jutsu."

"I'll perform the hand signs, and you cooperate by casting the jutsu."

The elk nodded. "No problem."

"But you're responsible for my meals these next few days. Three meals a day. Each meal must include corn, soybeans, barley, carrots, and wheatgrass. As for fruit, buy seasonal varieties—at least three different kinds per meal."

Behind the mask, Hajime's eyelid twitched involuntarily.
