Chapter 7: A Divine-Grade Gift Delivered to My Door

Lying comfortably on his bed, Li Xuan opened up the system store.

[System Store]

[One Meat, Two Veggie Lunchbox x1 – 1 Point]

[Guihe Mineral Water x1 – 1 Point]

[Thirty-Thousand-Year Miracle Chrysanthemum x1 – 50,000 Points]

[Breadgrass Seeds (Special Offer) – 10 Points (Original Price: 200 Points)]

Without hesitation, Li Xuan redeemed a lunchbox and a bottle of water. After all, he was still a growing boy — couldn't let himself starve, now could he?

As for the so-called Miracle Chrysanthemum, Li Xuan didn't even bother looking. At fifty thousand points, it might as well be on another planet. No use daydreaming.

But that last item caught his attention.

"Breadgrass? I've heard of breadfruit trees, but… is this the same kind of thing?" Li Xuan frowned slightly, uncertain if it was worth spending points on a plant with a name that sounded like something out of a children's storybook.

Still, after a moment's hesitation, he decided to buy it. It was on sale, after all — and everyone knows discounted items are always a good deal. Right?

With a flash of white light, a seed resembling a smooth white bean materialized in front of him.

He checked its stats.

[Plant]: Breadgrass

[Grade]: Treasure of Heaven and Earth

[Cultivation Age]: 0 Years

[Description]: A miraculous seed. Grows in ten days and yields one breadfruit. Opening the fruit will give a random type of bread. Low environmental requirements.

[Note]: Exclusive to the system. Contains mysterious effects.

"A system-exclusive plant, and it's Heaven-and-Earth grade too?" Li Xuan's eyes lit up as he held the seed. "That means the bread it produces might have all kinds of hidden benefits!"

After days of eating nothing but pre-packaged lunchboxes, the idea of even mildly magical bread sounded like a five-star meal. He got up from bed, grabbed a flowerpot from the yard under the moonlight, filled it with soil, watered it, and carefully planted the seed.

After a moment's thought, he brought the pot back inside. A Heaven-and-Earth grade plant? Yeah… not taking any chances with thieves.

Back in his room, Li Xuan sat on the bed, happily munching on his lunchbox. After a long day of work, his stomach had been growling for hours. Once he finished eating, he did a bit of stretching, then flopped into bed and was out cold within minutes.

The Next Morning

Li Xuan was up bright and early. After some quick morning stretches, he went straight to check the seedling trays.

A few minutes later, he'd inspected every seed — and the results were impressive. Every single one had sprouted. One hundred percent germination rate, and the seedlings were looking healthy and strong. Today was the perfect day to transfer them into pots.

"Another long day ahead," he said, grinning as he looked over the flourishing seedlings in the courtyard.

He brought over several pots from the corner of the yard, filled them with soil, watered them, and gently transplanted the seedlings one by one. After that, he arranged the pots neatly around the courtyard.

Although the different flowers all had unique requirements for soil, light, and care, Li Xuan had a cheat code — his Little Green Bottle. Just one splash of diluted green spirit liquid, and the plants grew like weeds on steroids.

Suddenly, he sensed someone approaching. His head snapped up.

At the edge of his courtyard stood a scrawny teenager, about seventeen or eighteen years old, dressed in tattered rags that could barely be called clothes. The kid looked like he hadn't seen a bath in a month.

He stood there nervously, eyes full of desperation as he stared at Li Xuan like he was the last food stall before famine.

Li Xuan blinked. A beggar… in the Flower Sea?

"Hello?" he called out, walking toward the wall. "Can I help you?"

The teenager flinched, then stammered out, "Um… I… I have a seed. I can't grow it. I was wondering if you'd be willing to trade me something easier to grow… Please! I'm not asking for free. I can help you weed or water your plants — anything!"

The boy looked like he was going to cry if Li Xuan said no.

His name was Bai Wen. After breakfast the day before, he'd checked all his seed packets and realized he didn't even recognize forty percent of them, let alone know how to plant them. He'd tried trading with others, but most people were just as clueless as he was.

At this rate, Bai Wen figured he'd end up as plant fertilizer long before he grew anything useful.

Then he remembered seeing Li Xuan trading seeds with others during the day. With nothing to lose, he decided to come ask if Li Xuan would accept a trade — offering the best-looking seed he had in the hope of getting something easier to handle.

Li Xuan smiled, sensing the guy's anxiety.

"No need to be so tense," he said kindly. "Of course we can trade. What's your name? And can I take a look at your seed?"

"I—I'm Bai Wen. My martial spirit's a mutated Sleeping Windbird, and I'm at soul power level 8. I'm sixteen. Here's the seed."

He blurted out all his personal stats in a single breath, and anxiously handed over a tiny red seed.

It was barely the size of a grain of rice, golden-red and glossy like a polished gem. If you looked closely, you could even see the embryonic sprout inside.

Li Xuan's eyes narrowed. This was no ordinary seed.

He quickly scanned it with the system.

[Plant]: Heartflame Gold Chrysanthemum

[Grade]: Divine

[Cultivation Age]: 0 Years

[Description]: One of the top divine-grade spirit plants. Naturally imbued with Heartflame Divine Flame, capable of burning souls and searing consciousness. Not suitable for medicine or consumption. Must grow near volcanic regions to absorb flame energy.

"Holy crap… a divine—!"

Li Xuan barely managed to stop himself mid-exclamation.

"What is it? Is it… too hard to grow?" Bai Wen asked nervously, taking a step closer and grabbing Li Xuan's arm.

Li Xuan quickly composed himself and gently pulled his arm free, casually slipping the seed into his pocket. Yeah, something that precious wasn't staying out in the open for even one second.

"Bai Wen, don't be so formal — just call me Br9ther Xuan. And yes, I'll take your seed."

"Thank you, Brother Xuan! Thank you so much!" Bai Wen's eyes went glassy with gratitude. He looked about two seconds away from dropping to his knees.

Li Xuan gave him a sunny smile — though he was doing his best to suppress the grin threatening to stretch off his face.

"So, Brother Bai Wen, what kind of flowers are you planting in your section of the Flower Sea?"

"I mostly grow roses," Bai Wen replied quickly.

"Roses, huh? Then this should be perfect!" Li Xuan dashed back into the courtyard and picked out a pot from a neatly stacked collection. He brought it back and handed it over.

Inside was a budding rose plant, already rooted and thriving — a rare cultivar with rich green leaves and the tiniest pink sprout just beginning to peek through.

Bai Wen stared at it in disbelief.

A live flower seedling?

Seedlings like this were far more valuable than seeds — they saved days of uncertainty and effort. People usually guarded them like treasure, not handed them out for free.

"Wait… this… this is for me?" he stammered, dazed.

Li Xuan grinned. "Of course. A fair trade, right?"

Bai Wen's mouth opened and closed like a fish, but no words came out.
