Chapter 21

I was about to go to the car when he grabbed my hand. I looked down at him. "Do you and him come back here together?"

My brows furrowed at his question. He had been asking about Jake frequently, and I couldn't shake the feeling that he was getting a bit jealous.

"Ever since we went to different colleges in the city, we haven't come here together. We've both been busy with work, and I come here occasionally to check on our business, help my parents, or just because I miss them," I explained, trying to keep my tone light.

"Good," he mumbled, but I didn't quite catch it.

"What?" I asked again, tilting my head slightly.

"Nothing. Let's go already; I'm getting hungry again," he said, standing up and holding my hand as we walked toward the car. The driver was already waiting for us.

As we arrived at my house, I felt a sense of pride swell within me. The house was located in the center of the plantation and ranch, surrounded by sprawling fields and grazing livestock.

"You own all of this?" Lukas said, gazing at the surroundings in awe.

"Yep," I replied nonchalantly as I got out of the driver's seat.

"I didn't know you were an heiress of such a large estate," he said, looking at me with a mix of admiration and surprise. "Then why are you still working at a company like that?"

"Experience," I said, shrugging slightly. "I also want to live independently without the help of my parents. The people here already know me, and I'm sure they would just spoon-feed me if I ever worked with them here."

"That makes sense," he said, nodding in understanding. "But it's impressive that you want to carve your own path."

I smiled at his compliment, feeling a warmth spread through me. "Thanks. I just want to prove to myself that I can do it on my own."

"Let's go inside," I said, leading them the way to the front door.

Joe, our butler, opened the door with a warm smile. "Welcome home, lady," he greeted me, bowing slightly to Lukas and the driver when he spotted them.

The familiar scent of home enveloped me, and I felt a sense of comfort wash over me. It was good to be back.

I hugged Joe warmly. "Joe! I told you not to call me that, just call me by my name," I said, playfully nudging him. Joe had been our butler for as long as I could remember. Whenever my parents were on business trips, he was the one who would personally take care of me, insisting that the maids didn't need to tend to me.

Joe chuckled warmly, patting my head affectionately. "You know I can't do that, miss."

I pouted at him, then turned to Lukas, holding his hand. "This is Lukas, my boyfriend," I said, a smile spreading across my face.

Immediately, Joe's expression shifted as he raised an eyebrow at Lukas, his demeanor becoming more serious. "So you're the one who managed to steal our lady?"

"Joe!" I exclaimed, feeling embarrassed. "Don't scare him away; Dad already threatened him."

"Well, it's best to repeat it again, right?" Joe replied, a playful smile spreading across his face as he gazed at me.

I chuckled, shaking my head at his antics. "Just prepare the guest rooms for Lukas and—" I turned to the driver. "What's your name?"

"Daniel," he said, offering a polite smile.

"And Daniel," I continued, looking back at Joe, "prepare some clothes for them. We'll just wash up, and then we can have dinner."

"Right this way, sirs," Joe said, quickly switching to professional mode as he guided Lukas and Daniel to their rooms, accompanied by four maids who were ready to assist.

"I'll see you later," I called out to Lukas as I headed upstairs to take a bath and change my clothes.

Once I freshened up,

I headed back downstairs, the scent of dinner wafting through the air. I could hear Joe and the maids bustling around in the kitchen, preparing everything for our meal.

As I entered the dining room, I found Lukas already seated at the table, looking comfortable and at ease. He smiled when he saw me, and I felt my heart flutter.

"Hey, you look great," he said, his eyes lighting up.

"Thanks! You too," I replied, feeling a warmth spread through me. He was dressed in a casual shirt and jeans, looking effortlessly handsome.

Just then, the maids entered, placing dozens of dishes on the table.

Joe appeared, carrying a platter of roast chicken and setting it down in front of us. "Dinner is served," he announced with a flourish as he stood behind me.

"This is too much!" I exclaimed, looking at the table, which resembled a feast fit for a celebration.

"You look so thin now, miss, so you should eat as much as you can," Joe said, his tone both teasing and caring.

"We can't finish all this," I replied, glancing at the maids. "Make sure to give the rest to the maids here later," I instructed, and the maids exchanged excited glances, their faces lighting up with gratitude.

"Yes, miss," Joe replied, a satisfied smile on his face.

As we began to eat, I noticed Lukas watching me. "Why don't we also hire maids at our house?" he asked, his brow slightly furrowed in thought.

"Why's that?" I replied, curious about his reasoning.

"It seems that you have a lot of maids here," he said. "Maybe you're struggling to clean the house alone."

"It's necessary to hire maids here since the house is too big to clean," I explained. "Mom and Dad are busy with work, and there's no need to hire maids at our place. And to be honest, I like being alone with you," I added, feeling my cheeks flush.

He chuckled softly, a playful glint in his eyes. "Same reason."

After we finished eating, I took Lukas by the hand and led him to my room.

"This is your room?" he asked, looking around at the lilac-colored walls adorned with various decorations. "So you like lilac, huh?"

I smiled, surprised that he noticed the specific shade. "Yeah, I do. It's my favorite color. Most people just call it purple, but I think lilac has a softer, more calming vibe."

He nodded, taking in the details of the room. "It suits you," he said, his gaze lingering on the little trinkets and photos scattered around. "It feels cozy and welcoming."

As he stepped further into the room, I noticed him examining the various pictures on my desk—photos of my family, friends, and moments from my childhood.

"Who's this beside you?" he asked, pointing to a picture of me as a little girl, grinning widely while hugging a little boy.

Oh shit, I forgot to hide the pictures of Jake that were displayed on my desk. I sighed, feeling a wave of anxiety wash over me. "That's Jake," I said truthfully, trying to keep my tone light.

I watched as Lukas stiffened, his expression shifting as he placed the picture frame down and sat beside me on the bed. "Did he also come here in your room?" he asked, his voice steady but laced with an undercurrent of tension.

"...Yes," I whispered, feeling a knot form in my stomach.

"Did the two of you...?" he asked although I didn't answer. I was upset. Lukas was my first and he's asking if me and Jake did it here? Jake and I had only kissed here and a bit of foreplay but he never inserted it inside me.

Without warning, he pushed me down onto my bed, capturing my lips ruthlessly as if punishing me for the earlier conversation.

"Mmm... Lukas... Mmm," I tried to speak, but every time I opened my mouth, his tongue would slither inside, playing with mine, leaving me breathless and lost in the moment.

After a while, he pulled back slightly, his eyes dark with intensity. "Where else...?" he suddenly asked, his voice low and serious.

"What?" I managed to reply, still dazed from our kiss.

"Where else did the two of you do it?" he pressed, his expression a mix of curiosity and something more primal.

I could see that he was still feeling the sting of jealousy, and since he hadn't listened to me before, I decided to play along, knowing it would get under his skin. "Well, since the maids sleep in the back house, we almost did it everywhere. In the bathroom, kitchen, stairs, balcony, living—"

I was cut off when I suddenly screamed as he lifted me effortlessly into his arms. "Where are you going?!" I exclaimed in shock.

"Let's do what?" I asked him.

"Let's make love everywhere... starting in the living room," he said, his voice low and filled with seriousness.

I couldn't help but laugh at his boldness, the absurdity of the situation breaking through the tension.
