Chapter 17: Old Qian’s Fury

When Qian Daoliu died, it was at the height of Spirit Hall's power and hope. Qian Renxue was on the verge of becoming a god, and he had no idea that someone on the opposing side would also ascend to godhood.

When Golden Crocodile Douluo died, although Spirit Hall's situation was already grim, they still had both the Angel and Rakshasa gods on their side. There was at least some hope—victory hadn't completely slipped away.

Upon returning to the world, the two instinctively assumed that Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue had won the war and resurrected them afterward. Of course, they believed the resurrection must have been Qian Renxue's doing—after all, Bibi Dong had always despised these old-timers.

So, Qian Daoliu brought Golden Crocodile Douluo to the Pope's Hall to verify the truth.

Bibi Dong calmly stated, "You want to know the outcome of that war? Spirit Hall lost."

"We lost?" Qian Daoliu's brow furrowed deeply.

"Yes. Xue'er and I once joined forces to kill Tang San. But then, the shameless gods of the Upper Realm interfered in the affairs of the mortal world and revived him. Not only that—they empowered him even further. He became the fusion of two divine powers, inheriting both the Sea God's and Asura God's thrones."

"Xue'er and I were no match for him. In the end, she sacrificed her godhood to shield me from a fatal blow, and I also perished trying to save her," Bibi Dong explained.

"What… what did you just say?" Qian Daoliu was so furious he almost lost his footing.

He had devoted his entire life to restoring the glory of the Angel God, hoping its divine light would shine across every corner of the Douluo Continent. He gave everything for that dream—even his life. And all he got in return was a fleeting bloom of the Angel Clan's rise?

Qian Renxue did ascend to godhood—but was soon cast down by Tang San!

Was his whole life just a colossal joke?

"Wait a minute—Bibi Dong, did you say Tang San inherited two god positions? Sea God and Asura God? That's impossible!" Qian Daoliu exclaimed. "How can one person inherit two divine thrones? Are you mocking me?"

Bibi Dong responded, "It was all thanks to Tang Chen. He transferred all the Asura divine power he'd cultivated to Tang San. That damn rabbit became the scabbard for the Asura Sword, allowing Tang San to achieve Dual God Fusion—he could switch freely between Sea God and Asura God. His Blue Silver Emperor inherited the Sea God, and his Clear Sky Hammer inherited the Asura God."

Qian Daoliu was speechless.

Bibi Dong looked at Qian Daoliu's dumbfounded face and sneered, "And to think you served the Angel God your whole life, only to end up this short-sighted. Laughable."

Golden Crocodile Douluo broke the silence, "So… what exactly has happened to us now?"

"You've probably noticed—we've all been reborn. Returned to the past," Bibi Dong said plainly.

Qian Daoliu gradually collected himself and said bitterly, "I honored my promise to Tang Chen and spared the Clear Sky Sect from annihilation. Who would have thought this would be the result? A fine sect, a fine Tang Chen, a fine Tang Hao, and an even finer Tang San…"

Hearing that, Bibi Dong couldn't help but sneer. "Your mercy toward the Clear Sky Sect? Your promise to Tang Chen? Don't be naive. Those rats never appreciated your kindness. To them, Tang Chen was a towering hero, and you—a coward. A single word from Tang Chen kept you and every Pope after you too afraid to touch the Clear Sky Sect. Pathetic!"

"Your tolerance only made them bolder. And when they gained the upper hand, they never showed mercy like you did."

"If you had listened to me and launched a soul hunt years ago, would things have ended this way? Your Qian Clan dreamed for generations of producing an Angel God, and in the end, it was all for nothing!"

Bibi Dong's mockery was merciless.

"Enough, Bibi Dong," Qian Daoliu growled, "Don't think I don't see through your schemes. You used Spirit Hall as a tool to provoke a war that united the entire continent against us."

He walked to the center of the grand hall and glared at her. "Yes, my son wronged you. But you already killed him. Wasn't that enough? Must you drag Spirit Hall and Qian Renxue to ruin as well?"

"No matter what… Xue'er is still your daughter!"

"Why shouldn't I do it?" Bibi Dong shouted. "He ruined my entire life!"

"But Spirit Hall made you who you are," Qian Daoliu countered. "It was Spirit Hall that gave you everything—your status as a Holy Maiden, the best resources, the finest training. Without Spirit Hall, you'd never have sat on the Pope's throne. And yet, Bibi Dong…"

"…you betrayed Spirit Hall for the sake of one useless man. Was it really worth it?"

"I admit it. I betrayed Spirit Hall. I let down Xue'er." Bibi Dong's expression darkened, flickering with conflict. "But Xiao Gang is not useless. I won't let you insult him!"

Qian Daoliu laughed coldly. "I'm just stating facts. A man who could never break through Rank 29 in his entire life—what else would you call him? He even had the nerve to write that ridiculous phrase, 'There are no trash Martial Souls, only trash Soul Masters,' as if admitting he was one of them."

His voice rose in fury: "My tolerance for the Clear Sky Sect led to Spirit Hall's destruction. That dog Tang Hao strutted around like a king. My tolerance of Tang San allowed him to dismantle everything we built. And my tolerance of you, Bibi Dong, brought Spirit Hall to the edge of the abyss!"

"Turns out, my greatest flaw was being too lenient!"

"I lived my life by a code, and now they call me a coward. The Angel God has fallen. Spirit Hall is no more. My life… has become a farce! And that promise to Tang Chen? What did it amount to?"

"They say I wouldn't dare. Well now—I do dare!" Qian Daoliu roared. "Golden Crocodile! Summon all titled elders and enshrined worshippers of Spirit Hall. I'll lead a force to the Clear Sky Sect myself. This time, I'll erase them from existence!"

"Golden Crocodile, you take another force to Saint Soul Village, near Nuoding City. Bring me the heads of Tang Hao, Tang San, and—"

He paused, glancing coldly at Bibi Dong, "…Yu Xiaogang!"

Until that last name, Bibi Dong hadn't reacted much. Destroying the Clear Sky Sect had been her goal too. They had hidden, gathered strength, and then struck Spirit Hall at its weakest—she would never let them survive again. Tang Hao and Tang San had destroyed both her and her daughter's lives in their past life—she couldn't possibly spare them.

But the moment she heard Yu Xiaogang's name—her expression changed drastically.

Gripping her Pope's scepter, she stood up and furiously shouted:

"You dare?!"
