A Prank, a Project, and a Promise

The Next Day at Work

Yoojin:

Good morning, everyone.

Asilzoda:

Good morning to you too.

Yoojin:

Where's Bahora? Is she sick or something?

Asilzoda:

Hahaha, no, she's working—right over there.

Yoojin:

She seems really quiet today. And what's with that look?

Asilzoda:

That's because she got punished.

Yoojin:

Why? What happened?

Asilzoda:

We returned the car to its owner yesterday, but apparently three traffic tickets had already arrived before us. Her dad got really angry when he saw them. She got scolded by everyone. Now she's banned from driving for at least two months.

Yoojin:

I see...

Manager Kim enters.

Manager Kim:

Good morning, girls. You all seem cheerful today. Did something good happen?

Bahora:

Good morning, Manager Kim.

They're just laughing at me—that's why they're so cheerful.

Manager Kim:

Got it. Well, as you know, our team has a meeting today. Shall we begin?

In the meeting room

Manager Kim:

Girls, times are changing, and new trends are constantly emerging. Our design department needs to come up with innovative ideas. Other teams are working on it too, but we need something modern and original.

Asilzoda:

I have some ideas, but I still need time to develop them.

Manager Kim:

Good, I trust you. The others will assist you.

Asilzoda:

Understood.

Manager Kim:

I'll leave you to it. Ms. Sultonva, explain your idea to the girls.

Asilzoda:

Yes, sir.

After Kim leaves

Asilzoda shares her project idea.

Yoojin:

It sounds difficult, but doable.

Bahora:

True, it'll take a lot of work. But we must do it, no matter what.

Oh right, Yoojin, when are you moving in with us?

Yoojin:

This weekend.

Bahora:

Perfect! We can work together at home too.

Asilzoda:

Alright, enough chatting. Let's get started. If we begin now, we'll finish in two weeks.

Bahora:

Yes ma'am, your wish is our command.

Asilzoda:

Stop being sarcastic.

They begin working on the project.

Bahora:

Why is this work getting so hard? I'm about to die!

Asilzoda:

Die after finishing these documents, please.

Bahora:

You heartless rock! You don't even pity me a little.

Asilzoda:

Nope. Oh, and by the way, I made your favorite food for lunch today.

Bahora:

Seriously? Why didn't you say that earlier? I need to finish all this before lunch! Where are those documents?

Asilzoda:

Here, not too many.

Bahora:

"Not too many"? This is a whole pile! I'll never finish in time.

Asilzoda:

If you do well, I might talk to my uncle and ask him to lift your punishment.

Bahora:

Really?! You're not joking?

Asilzoda:

Promise. Now get to work.

Yoojin:

Bahora, you're like a phoenix today—dying and coming back to life quickly.

Asilzoda:

It's fun to watch, isn't it?

Bahora:

Hahaha. Fine, laugh while you can.

Asilzoda:

Work faster—lunch is in 30 minutes. Yoojin, will you join us? I made plenty.

Yoojin:

Sure.

Lunch time

Bahora:

Finally! I love you, Asilzoda. This meal is amazing.

Yoojin:

It really is delicious.

Asilzoda:

Glad you like it. Eat before it gets cold.

Back to work. The week ends, and Yoojin prepares to move in.

Weekend: Yoojin arrives at the new home.

Bahora:

Welcome to your new home! Come in and put your things down.

Yoojin:

Wow, this house is huge. Where's Asilzoda?

Bahora:

She went to the store. Let's set up your room while we wait.

Asilzoda returns.

Asilzoda:

Yoojin, you're here!

Yoojin:

Yep, just arrived.

Asilzoda:

Need help unpacking?

Bahora:

Nope, we've got it covered. You can go cook—I'm starving.

Asilzoda:

Got it.

They eat together and later celebrate Yoojin's move-in.

Next morning, 7 AM

Yoojin:

They must still be sleeping. I'll go make breakfast.

Asilzoda:

Yoojin, you're up? Right on time! Breakfast is ready.

Yoojin:

Do you always wake up this early?

Asilzoda:

Always. I go for a run, then cook and wake up Bahora. I even got her a surprise today—check out this cute toy.

Yoojin:

What is that, a hedgehog?

Asilzoda:

Yep! She fears nothing, but she's terrified of hedgehogs. Just watch.

Asilzoda places the toy in Bahora's room.

Moments later, they hear a scream.

Bahora runs out.

Bahora:

Aaaaah! A hedgehog! Help! Wait… it's not moving?

She returns to her room, realizes it's a toy, and gets angry.

Bahora:

ASILZODA!

Asilzoda:

In the kitchen!

Bahora:

What is WRONG with you?!

Asilzoda:

We were just coming to wake you up!

Bahora:

I'm going to kill you!

Yoojin:

Relax, Bahora. She made your favorite breakfast. Try it—it's delicious, right?

Bahora:

Yeah, it's good… but I'm still mad! I'll get you someday!

Asilzoda:

I look forward to it.

(Laughs.)

Yoojin tries to calm her down with food. They go to work together.

At work...

Bahora:

Why are they giving us more and more tasks every day? On top of the new project?!

Asilzoda:

Stop whining and get to work.

Bahora:

You stone-hearted beast.

Asilzoda:

By the way, don't forget we have training tonight.

Bahora:

Ugh, I have no energy.

Yoojin:

What training?

Bahora:

We joined a karate club. We go three times a week. Want to come?

Yoojin:

Me? I'm not sure I can handle it.

Asilzoda:

You'll be fine—we just started too.

Yoojin:

Okay, I'll give it a try.

What did you think about Asilzoda's prank with the toy hedgehog?

Was it too far or just funny? 😆

Would you forgive a friend for something like that? Why or why not?
