Watching Uchiha Madara, now brimming with vigor, black hair flowing freely in the wind, Nawaki was genuinely moved by the renewed confidence radiating from him.
And then he decided that in the next Reincarnator Mission, he'd toss Madara into an even more dangerous world.
Yes, since Madara was so eager for ressurection, he probably needed more points—Nawaki was just helping him earn them faster!
It definitely wasn't because Madara rejected the "Create Life" option and that left Nawaki salty.
Absolutely not!
"…But come to think of it," Nawaki mused, "that Create Life option really is kind of useless. The beings it creates have no innate potential and can only be improved through point-based upgrades. Plus, since their personality and memory are set entirely by the creator, there are bound to be flaws. Unless someone with a very special ability uses it, no one would actually exchange for this…"
If this option existed in another Lord God System, maybe it'd make sense. After all, reincarnators in those systems often faced extreme pressure, unable to return to the real world, and could only vent their desires through this creation function.
But his setup was different.
His reincarnators were all carefully selected canon characters from the story, very few of whom were lust-driven idiots. And even if they did have some frustrations, they could still return to the real world to blow off steam.
Even those who wished to bring someone back to life wouldn't want a fabricated replica—they'd do what Madara did and pursue true resurrection.
Given all that, the Create Life feature would probably see almost no use.
"I spent 3,000 points adding that option to the exchange list… what a waste." Nawaki sighed.
Three thousand points wasn't a small amount. After setting up the Reincarnation Space, he had fewer than 20,000 points left—and he was so broke it kept him up at night.
Still, he had learned a lesson.
Not all experience from other Lord God Systems could be applied to his. When adding exchange features, he needed to evaluate his own situation carefully.
After that train of thought ended, Nawaki turned back to Madara—only to find that he had already lowered the Demonic Statue, which had been sealed by Chibaku Tensei, leveled the earth, and filled in the crater a bit.
Although the ground still had a large indentation, it looked much better than the gaping pit it was moments ago.
Madara walked a full circle around the Demonic Statue, a flicker of something unreadable in his eyes.
He stepped forward, placed his hand on the statue's surface—
—and then Nawaki heard the system's prompt in his ear.
[Uchiha Madara requests to upload the Ten Tails' husk (Demonic Statue of the Outer Path). Accept and convert into points?]
"…"
If he had a mirror, Nawaki was sure his expression right now would be identical to the dumbfounded look Black Zetsu wore earlier.
What was Madara doing? Didn't he still want to become the Ten Tails' Jinchūriki?
Listening in more closely to Madara's thoughts, Nawaki finally understood.
Madara simply felt deeply humiliated by how long Black Zetsu had fooled him. The Demonic Statue had become a symbol of that humiliation. Rather than keeping it around to irritate himself, he decided to turn it into points and put them toward his resurrection efforts.
Classic Madara—recklessly domineering, as always!
The Ten Tails' husk, the god tree of the shinobi world—he just tossed it like it meant nothing.
Nawaki sighed in awe and converted the Demonic Statue.
As the shell of the Ten Tails and core of the World Tree, the Demonic Statue was steeped in massive fortune and destiny. Once converted, it brought Nawaki a full 50,000 points!
Out of goodwill, Nawaki gave Madara 10,000 points as a reward.
Then, he turned his attention to Black Zetsu.
Currently, Black Zetsu had been fully restored to perfect condition but lay unconscious in the empty Reincarnation Space.
A truly pitiful creature.
His life's work had been dedicated to resurrecting his mother. And yet after colliding with Nawaki's plans, his elaborate schemes collapsed spectacularly. Then, to add insult to injury, he got beaten down by his own nephew.
Still, his desire to bring back Kaguya Otsutsuki made him a potentially useful pawn.
The Reincarnator Mission wouldn't start until the beginning of the next month, so Nawaki decided to let him sleep in the meantime.
"Set Reincarnator penalty: Target — Black Zetsu. Duration — one month unconscious."
[Penalty applied. Cost: 1,000 points.]
Thanks to the system's restoration feature, when Black Zetsu eventually woke up, he wouldn't even realize how long he'd been out.
Nawaki also made an interesting discovery: in the penalty menu, only Erasure was absurdly expensive—everything else was relatively cheap.
For example, erasing a powerful A-rank figure like Black Zetsu would cost 10,000 points. But knocking him unconscious and then killing him afterward only required 1,000.
A bug?
Not necessarily.
If Nawaki truly wanted to eliminate a Reincarnator, he could easily toss them into a highly lethal world or even into the core of a star—he wouldn't need to spend any points at all.
Just as he'd suspected: Erasure was a symbolic feature, meant for shock and awe. Watching a high-tier reincarnator mysteriously drop dead would terrify everyone far more than a simple execution.
Its purpose was deterrence.
With that done, Nawaki yawned and decided to take a nap.
---
Nearly a month passed.
During that time, Nawaki was surprised that Madara hadn't stormed Konoha to snatch the Nine-Tails.
Even the backup plans Nawaki had prepared went unused. Clearly, after everything that had happened, Madara's mindset had shifted beyond the realm of mere mortals.
But just because he hadn't attacked Konoha didn't mean he had been idle.
Quite the opposite.
Madara had acted alone, infiltrated Kumogakure in the Land of Lightning, defeated both the Third Raikage and the Jinchūriki, and made off with a mountain of secret jutsu scrolls—all without causing major casualties.
The shinobi world was shaken to its core.
Everyone remembered that legendary name—the one who once ruled alongside the First Hokage.
Uchiha Madara.
Not only had he survived his battle with Hashirama Senju, he was still in his prime—and had awakened the legendary Rinnegan, making him stronger than ever before!
But what baffled everyone even more—
After just that one show of power, Madara disappeared from the public eye, retreating to the ruins of the Uchiha clan compound and constructing a shrine there.
It was as if his purpose was simply to declare: I am still here.
No one could understand what he was thinking.
No one… except Nawaki.
"…Of course," Nawaki muttered. "When someone gets too strong, the low-level jutsu scrolls they easily collect carry almost no fate value. Even if they're turned in, they barely yield any points. Madara gathered so many scrolls, and he only got a bit over a hundred points in total. What a tragic outcome…"
