He looked back at her, clenching his fist. "I'm sorry."



"Then you could have just left me alone from the start!" she shouted, starting to lose her composure. "But you're still reaching out to me!"



"I know," he said firmly, igniting her anger even more. "But I felt like I can't keep going without you by my side. I'm sorry."
