Chapter 33: The Pursuer Arrives

At the Indigo Plateau airport, a plane slowly descended. After the cabin door opened, a flood of passengers disembarked, and a blonde girl in black blended into the crowd, walking slowly down the stairs.

"Is this Kanto? It doesn't feel as developed as Sinnoh."

The girl mumbled softly. Wearing a short black windbreaker, she soon spotted the person waiting to pick her up.

However, a sly glint flashed in her eyes when she saw the person holding the sign.

Blended within the crowd, she didn't particularly want to follow the advice of those guys, just like those inexplicably persistent suitors.

Seriously, she barely knew them!

They'd only met once and exchanged greetings, and then a bunch of them swarmed her like simps. She really disliked that.

She happened to learn some interesting things, so she decided to take this opportunity to clear her head in Kanto.

Hiding in the crowd, the girl pulled a hat from her bag and slapped it onto her head.

Then, following the flow of people, she headed out of the airport.

Once everyone had left, the man holding the sign looked a bit bewildered. He quickly contacted his liaison and explained the situation.

After receiving feedback from the liaison, the man hurried onto the plane. After circling it and confirming no one was left, he made another call with a grim expression.

On the other end of the phone, a torrent of curses rained down on him. The man could only apologize profusely, promising to find the girl immediately.

Hanging up, the man cursed under his breath, then resignedly put his phone away. He then chased out of the airport, looked around, and ran towards the outskirts of Indigo Plateau.

After the man had run far off, the girl emerged from a nearby flower bed. She glanced at where the man had run off, a triumphant smile on her face. "So stupid. With that brain, he thinks he can find me?"

With that, the girl hummed a tune and walked in the complete opposite direction from the man.

Although it was late at night, the girl knew she couldn't stay in a hotel for now. Otherwise, with check-in information, she'd likely be found quickly.

"Hehe, now I can play undisturbed for about half a year. I just hope that guy can hold out longer. If I get found right away, I'll probably have to go home early."

As the girl spoke, she opened a Poké Ball. With a flash of light, a Gible landed at her feet.

Gible looked at the girl, nodded, and then quickly followed her away.

The next morning, Ace packed his belongings, checked out of his room, and set off for Pewter City.

Of the three side missions, the one about Zapdos could wait. What Ace was more concerned about now were the people who had tracked him to Kanto, and how to get Brock's guidance.

After thinking for half the night, Ace realized there was no other way but to adapt as he went along.

If they could track him to Kanto, then even if he went to other regions, they would still be able to find him.

But this time, Ace couldn't run.

After all, with the main mission's constraint, if he fled to another region, the main mission would fail, and Ace absolutely could not accept the penalties for failure.

So, he could only adapt to the situation.

As for Brock's guidance, Ace currently had some ideas, and his breakthrough point lay with Aerodactyl.

Aerodactyl was, after all, Rock and Flying type. Being of the same Rock type, there should be some possibility of communication.

While pondering, Ace had already left Viridian City and entered Viridian Forest.

He wanted to use the wild Pokémon in Viridian Forest to confirm where his strength truly stood.

Returning to this forest, Ace felt a bit emotional. He opened a Poké Ball, and Weepinbell landed by his side.

A faint, lingering scent began to spread. Ace took a deep breath, and another Poké Ball appeared in his hand.

"Rustle, rustle..."

The grass rustled, and soon a Pinsir emerged from the bushes. Seeing Weepinbell beside Ace, a hungry expression appeared in Pinsir's eyes, and it charged straight at Weepinbell.

"Zubat!"

Ace flung a Poké Ball with a sudden motion. Zubat shot out like an arrow. Before Pinsir could react, Zubat had already bitten onto Pinsir, injecting a powerful poison into its body.

Pinsir grunted, stumbled, and fell to the ground. Zubat took the opportunity to take flight, delivering a powerful Aerial Ace that slammed into Pinsir, sending it flying.

It rolled several times on the ground and then stopped moving, having been defeated.

"By using the initial velocity from throwing the Pokémon, Zubat's starting speed reaches an extremely high level, which, combined with Poison, can create a surprise effect."

Ace raised his arm, and Zubat landed on it.

"However, this move is only suitable for fast Pokémon. If it were Weepinbell or Lapras, it wouldn't have this effect."

Pinsir's defeat was just the beginning.

Weepinbell's scent was attracting a large number of Bug-type Pokémon towards Ace.

Ace, however, wasn't intimidated. After all, he could escape Viridian Forest not far ahead, and he also wanted to see where his limits were.

"Buzz, buzz, buzz..."

Soon, a swarm of about twenty Beedrill flew over. Ace's eye twitched: A group of Beedrill is the hardest to deal with!

But Ace didn't retreat. He gestured to Weepinbell, who understood immediately. It opened its mouth and sprayed a fragrant Sludge Bomb towards the other side.

The scent of the Sludge Bomb instantly attracted a few Beedrill away, but they would turn back as soon as they realized the scent wasn't edible.

There was a one-minute interval in between!

"One minute is enough!"

Ace flung both hands, and Lapras landed in front of him. Aerodactyl charged out at high speed, opening its large mouth. A chilling aura erupted from within, and it bit fiercely into a Beedrill.

"Lapras, Ice Beam!"

"Zubat, Aerial Ace!"

"Weepinbell, Sludge Bomb!"

The three Pokémon rushed out, immediately striking down three Beedrill. Aerodactyl's astonishing biting force instantly bit a Beedrill in half. With a flap of its wings, it sent several attacking Beedrill flying.

It sharply turned its head, opened its mouth, and bit into another Beedrill. Its incredible jaw muscles exerted force, and with a crisp snap, the Beedrill was bitten into two halves, one of which Aerodactyl swallowed.

The four Pokémon formed a defensive line, blocking the Beedrill's attacks, but two managed to slip through. With a flap of their wings, their twin stingers rapidly jabbed towards Ace.

"Still a bit much."

Ace's physical conditioning had been boosted twice, making him definitely stronger than an average person.

Facing the Beedrill's assault, Ace quickly ducked, dodging the twin stingers. Then, Zubat rushed back, hitting one of them with an Aerial Ace, sending it flying.

But the other seized the opportunity and jabbed its twin stingers.

Zubat sharply flapped one wing, twisting its body to avoid a vital spot, but the sharp stingers still left two bloody marks on Zubat.

Blood dripped.

Zubat was enraged!
