Chapter 56: The Overpowered Egg

This Happiny is not normal!

It's too abnormal, actually!

However, thinking about Ash's Eevee, which could freely switch between Fire, Water, and Electric types later on, this Happiny didn't seem so abnormal anymore.

Ace unfolded the stats sheet and glanced at the attributes. His heart couldn't help but skip a beat.

HP: 13

Physical Attack: 13 (*2)

Physical Defense: 13

Special Attack: 13

Special Defense: 13

Speed: 13

A string of identical attributes—Ace wouldn't have said anything if it were any other Pokémon, but with these stats, plus the Huge Power ability, this Level 1 Happiny's Physical Attack easily broke through 26!

"This is a BUG-level Pokémon! Is Giovanni out of his mind? How could he give up such a powerful Pokémon! And a shiny one at that!"

Ace roared internally, looking at Happiny as if it were a peerless jade.

Happiny turned its head and glanced at Ace. Although it had been abandoned for so many years, Happiny could clearly sense that the boy in front of it had pulled it back from the brink of death recently; otherwise, it would have long become a dead egg.

Happiny smiled at Ace, seemingly acknowledging the boy in front of it as its Trainer.

"I didn't expect your Pokémon egg to be a Happiny. Even when it evolves into a Blissey, it's generally a support Pokémon. In terms of combat power, it might be a bit troublesome."

Cynthia didn't know about Happiny's abnormalities, so she still felt a touch of sympathy for Ace's luck.

Ace rolled his eyes, stroked Happiny's head, and seeing Happiny's comfortable expression and its empty belly pouch, Ace had a flash of inspiration. He spent two thousand gold coins and bought a Lucky Egg.

Ace didn't give the Lucky Egg to Happiny immediately. He raised his arm to check the time, then said to Lapras, "Lapras, there's a small island nearby. Let's go there first to sort out lunch."

Lapras nodded, then subtly used its Surf ability, quickly swimming towards an island under Ace's guidance.

Twenty minutes later, Lapras brought Ace and the others to a small island.

This island was quite remote and wasn't even recorded on the Kanto region map. Ace was lucky the system's map had its location; otherwise, he wouldn't have known such a place existed.

The island was small, with scattered low trees. Every now and then, a few Pokémon could be seen running by. Even upon seeing Ace and his companions, the Pokémon showed no signs of fear or wariness.

From this, it was clear that this island had never been trodden by humans and was still undeveloped.

"It's past one o'clock. Let's have lunch first, then we'll set off again."

Ace put down his backpack, pointed to a two-meter-tall small tree nearby, and said to Happiny, "Can you get me some firewood?"

Happiny nodded at Ace's words and scurried over to the tree.

Then, as Cynthia wondered why Ace wanted Happiny to get firewood, Happiny's small hand gently rested on the small tree.

As Cynthia's eyes almost popped out, Happiny effortlessly uprooted the two-meter-tall tree and then tossed it like a wooden stick. The two-meter-tall tree crashed heavily in front of Ace and Cynthia.

"Is this… a support Pokémon?!"

Cynthia's worldview shattered. She had, after all, witnessed Happiny's birth with her own eyes!

Could you believe a "baby" less than two hours old directly uprooting a tree right in front of you?

If it were anyone else, their expression probably wouldn't be any different from Cynthia's right now.

"Extremely strong in power, suited for physical output, high HP, strong defense, and speed won't be slow either. This six-sided Pokémon has too many potential development paths!"

Ace sighed inwardly. This template was practically the "dragon-among-men" template from novels. Happiny, once trained, would absolutely be Ace's ace, bar none!

"Woo!"

While Cynthia was still questioning reality, Lapras already had a Magikarp in its mouth.

This was the lunch it had prepared for Ace. Although Magikarp had hard bones and not much meat, using it to make soup was excellent.

Ace released his Pokémon, and Cynthia also released hers. The two groups of Pokémon met, and the atmosphere was quite good. The only one still somewhat hostile towards Ace was Budew. Under the persuasion of Gible and Riolu, Budew was no longer hostile towards Ace but still didn't give him a good look.

Ace didn't mind this. After all, it wasn't his Pokémon. Once he raised Cynthia's Trainer level to 10, he could bid her farewell.

Thinking this, Ace took the motionless Magikarp from Lapras's mouth.

Ace skillfully cleaned the Magikarp, then took out a stew pot. The Pokémon had already turned the small tree into firewood. He lit a campfire and began to simmer the Magikarp soup.

While simmering, Ace also prepared lunch for the Pokémon, which was still quite luxurious, far surpassing the lunch Cynthia had prepared.

As for the newly joined Gastly and Happiny, Ace prepared the same treatment for them.

Happiny remained calm, as it had "eaten" too much of these things when it was still an egg.

Gastly, on the other hand, had never seen anything like this. It ate so happily that its Friendship increased by 30 points after the meal, and it was no longer as afraid of Ace.

This was a good thing; not being afraid of Ace meant that Gastly could at least obey Ace's commands and be trained.

After sorting out the Pokémon's lunch, Ace and Cynthia, the two of them, ate some dry rations with a pot of milky white fish soup that looked like milk.

Although the dry rations weren't very nutritious, the pot of fish soup was very nourishing, helping Ace and Cynthia, who were in their growth period, to develop.

"Splash."

But just as Ace and Cynthia were eating with gusto, the sound of a bowl overturning rang out.

When Ace turned around, he saw Happiny chasing and pounding a Cloyster.

Glancing at the overturned food bowl, he immediately understood the cause and effect.

Cloyster was also a bit miserable. It was just sleeping in the sand, stretched, and accidentally knocked over a food bowl.

It wasn't a big deal at first. Glancing at the young Happiny, Cloyster knew it was a little one.

But what it didn't expect was that the "little one" in its eyes, seeing its unfinished meal with teary eyes, instantly went berserk.

Waving its tiny fists, it directly greeted Cloyster with a beating.

Cloyster initially didn't care, but after one punch almost knocked the stuffing out of it, Cloyster felt its worldview collapse…
