Chapter 13
Special Tournament 1
The school training ground was full of chatter, hundreds of different students ready to fight held weapons or started scratching. In the training ground, the floor opened right in front of them.
Multiple brown-colored boards shot from the opened holes, silver lining at the top on each of them saying "Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, Group 4, Group 5."
A wave of students shot to the different boards, their eyes scanning for their name. Shiro was also looking for his name, being pushed around he eventually spotted his; he was in Group 3.
Once everyone found their names, the students quickly formed a line assigned to their group. Shiro scanned the other groups seeing which group his friends were in. Aurelia was in group 1, Kaela was in group 2, Aeris was in group 4, and Luis was in group 5. Standing in line, a familiar figure appeared from the board, it was Myrrh; his basic appearance made him look like a commoner, which he is.
Shiro looked at his wrist which Myrrh said was a curse, staring back at Myrrh. He had a smile on his face, spreading open his arms he shouted, "Welcome Students! As you know, the tournament is starting soon for each of you, let me give you some information. First, you'll fight with the members of your groups; each win will raise you higher on the leaderboard, which will let you receive better benefits. When the last two people are standing in your group, you will go against the other groups as a pair. This tournament will test how you fight with each other and as a team. Next is to show your best capabilities, everyone will be watching. I'll assign you a ball with a number; the number will show your time when to start. And that will be it, good luck to all of you!"
Myrrh opened his palm, a metal sphere the size of a baseball popped out of his hand with the number 1 highlighted in the middle. After some time, Myrrh walked up toward Shiro, summoning another ball he dropped it into his hands. Shiro was surprised to feel how heavy it was.
Shiro got the number 9, still a little disappointed how high his number was. Myrrh clapped his hands; the shockwave that came from it blew everyone's hair back. He spoke once again, "Before we arrive just remember the arena isn't normal, I can't say what will happen but never let your guard down!"
Myrrh snapped his fingers. Shiro's heart dropped as the world around him changed.
His eyes widened, he was falling in a dark void that seemed endless. The people that were near him vanished. Shiro kept on falling, his hair blowing in the wind; it felt endless. Then sweat that ran down his face suddenly jumped up.
He stopped. Shiro couldn't feel the ground, yelling like he just stopped in midair. "HELLO!" Looking around, still no response. While waiting in utter darkness, he felt a buzzing—it was his sphere. Taking it out, the buzzing stopped. The sphere flew out of Shiro's hand, flying around him. Shiro didn't take his gaze off the strange sphere. The sphere was just facing Shiro. Making a fist, Shiro tried to attack the strange sphere but missed every time; it was too fast.
Out of nowhere, the sphere stopped. The strange sphere started to shake, startling Shiro, then it opened into multiple parts still connecting to the number 9. The number itself started to shake, then it flipped into a camera. Suddenly the camera shot rays into Shiro's left eye. Caught off guard, Shiro flinched but quickly held still once again. It didn't hurt at all, but it felt like it did. It felt way too familiar, like it had happened before but any memory of this didn't appear. "What the hell."
After the scanning was done, the sphere turned to the side and projected a glowing screen. In bold letters it displayed:
Name: ShiroSex: MaleRace: HumanLegacy: ???Foreseeing past: acceptedStage one: InputBorn: The fragmented Oblivion
Shiro's eyes widened. "The fragmented Oblivion?" Before he could ask a question, new text appeared on the screen cutting Shiro off.
"Welcome commoner!""Alright man," Shiro was disappointed in the sphere. "Since you're not in a legacy we have to revoke your seat; you'll be sitting with the other commoners." Shiro's mouth dropped by the disrespect. So he can't sit front row.
The screen continued, "You'll be seated to your spot in 2 minutes; please be patient!"
Having time to still think about the place it said, rubbing his temples, Shiro had no clue. I was born on Earth; what is this sphere talking about?
Shiro was waiting thinking about how his sister would react if he lost the first round. Blinking, the world around him changed again. All around were people shouting and cheering, rows of commoners. Shiro's heart sank by being teleported so suddenly. Sitting on a wooden chair, in front of him was a table, many people behind him and on the side.
The wall was changing color, as it went from golden to gray. In this arena, he was on the 5th floor. Looking at the 4th floor where more rows of people were, looking down even further made Shiro tremble a little…
After the 3rd floor, it wasn't just humans. Many different races from different worlds came to watch the tournament. These people had dog ears, fox tails, and many other unique looks. The different races didn't have the presence of a possessor's; no, they were bearers and harbingers. This was Shiro's first time seeing the other races, remembering that in history class something Myrrh didn't mention is that other races come to Earth but are assigned to stay at South America for war reasons.
Shiro was looking down even further; his blood boiled to his realization. All the way down to the first floor were his friends. Shiro was turning red, gripping the desk so hard it left a mark. Shiro couldn't believe how far the commoners were from the legacies.
The lights in the area soon went dark. The light soon faded back. In the middle of the area stood a dark sphere. "What is this place with spheres?" Shiro shouted. "Shh, the show is going to start!" Shiro looked to his side; it was a lady. She had dark blue eyes, with light blue hair; she was fit. Shiro was surprised. On the sphere, a screen wrapping around it displayed in bold text:
"Are you READY!!" The crowd shouted louder. More text showed: "For the first round of group 1 will be!"
"Aurelia Solenne Verses Seth Damon."
