The story follows Yugen, a seasoned Yu-Gi-Oh! player from the modern world who transmigrates into a world where the game is a fundamental part of life. He quickly discovers that powerful cards like Pot of Greed and Graceful Charity still exist and are incredibly overpowered, unlike their forbidden status in his original world.

However, acquiring rare cards in this new world is extremely difficult and expensive, with some even being unobtainable. Leveraging his vast experience, Yugen decides to build a deck based on the concept of "Hand Destruction"—a strategy focused on controlling the opponent's hand to prevent them from playing cards.

In his first duel at a local dojo, Yugen faces Sato Koji, an overconfident Level 3 duelist. Yugen relentlessly uses cards like Delinquent Duo, Drop Off, and Don Zaloog to systematically deplete Koji's hand and deck. Koji, initially smug, spirals into panic and frustration as he finds himself unable to summon any monsters. Ultimately, Koji loses his composure and attempts to physically assault Yugen, leading to his disqualification and defeat.

The narrative highlights Yugen's "mind-game" and "frustration-inducing" tactics, drawing a stark contrast between the "fantasy Yu-Gi-Oh!" depicted in the anime and the brutal "real Yu-Gi-Oh!" where the goal is not just to win, but to ensure the opponent can't even play the game.
