Chapter 29

The following week was peaceful, he would go out to hunt them train with Thea. Her archery skills were improving rapidly. She can already shoot a moving target from 200 metres away.

They were standing in an empty part of Town, he threw a rock, with his strength, it flew like a bullet. She pulled her bow and aimed at it.

The bow string made from the tendons of an earth grade beast was truly impressive. Although she complained that it was not as stretchable as she would like, it was still strong.

There was a booming sound as she released the arrow. Wind followed behind it and it shattered the rock over 300 metres away from them.

She smiled, this time I won't lose. I hope not, otherwise you would've wasted my time. Can't you be a little bit sensitive boss? What are you talking about? I am sensitive, I'm the most sensitive person in the world.

They went back, Ashborn watched the people walking about minding their business. They looked fuller, healthier and lively.

A small barely perceptible smile surfaced his face before disappearing. The moonlight shined on his face through the window, he was sitting in a large bed back in his room.

Status, he whispered, it been a while since he checked it.

Name: Ashborn

Rank: 1( bloodline intergration realm- high stage)

Bloodlines:

- Knight Fang of Ash bloodline ( sky grade)

- Tree hide Boar bloodline (earth grade)

- Dark Raven bloodline ( earth grade)

-Sky falcon bloodline (earth grade)

- Shadow Walker bloodline (earth grade/ extremely degraded)

- Corrupted White Tiger Bloodline (mortal grade)

Bloodpoints: 57

After his fight with Tiger he also took his bloodline, normally he would turn mortal grade bloodlines into bloodpoints but for some reason he chose to keep this one.

Maybe it was out of respect for Tiger, he was a shitty man that is true but he was a very skilled figher who held his own against two being with higher grade bloodlines than his and that deserves respect.

He didn't have enough bloodpoints to grant another person an earth grade bloodline but he bet he would by the time he would have to initiate his plans, he decided he wouldn't give anybody a mortal grade bloodline, atleast not those he wanted In his inner circle.

Now that he thought about, he was glad he took his anger out on the boars after his fight with Tiger or he would not have had enough bloodpoints to give a bloodline to Thea.

He went to sleep and the night passed like a breeze. Are you ready, he asked looking at Thea who held a bow and a quiver hanging from her back.

She nodded, then let go. It was time she had her revenge, If he was being honest, he did not know if she would meet the same jackal but it did not matter.

She would have to kill them regardless but he could it in her eyes, she wanted that one,not another. They headed straight for their territory.

It wasn't exactly theirs as this part of the forest was ruled by a large creature with many spikes on it back. It looked intimidating, so much so that even he did not want to provoke it.

Fortunately it was not very violent but he had seen it shoot one of those spikes like a javelin, killing a huge creature with tusks and a long..well he assumed it was it nose and very large ears.

They searched for a while and still did not find it, frustration was building up inside her he could see it, to vent her anger she pulled one of the arrows from the quiver.

Most of the arrow shaft were made from wood but very few were made from metal, she had tied the arrow heads to the metal poles they found.

She nocked one of the wooden made arrows to her bow and pulled the string. Closing one eye she concentrated. Over 200 metres away from them was a large deer happily grazing the grass.

She was about to release the arrow when they both saw it. A hundred metres away from the deer was jackal with a scar on it face.

He saw her smile, they found it, the same exact jackal, what were the chances. She changed her target and aimed her arrow at it. The jackal was slowly sneaking towards the deer.

It started running which alerted it prey but it was too late, a hundred metres was nothing to it, it covered the distance in a second and jumped towards the deer.

However it was so focused on it prey it did not notice an arrow splitting the air towards it. Before it could sink it fangs Into the panicked deer the arrow tasted it flesh first.

It missed it target as it yelped in pain and rolled on the ground. Thea frowned, Ashborn had noticed the issue as well. Although the arrows heads made of the boars tusk were powerful enough to pieces it hide like a blade through soft flesh the same couldn't be said about the shaft.

To be more specific, the force of the collision shattered most of the shaft even though the arrow head had opened a wound wide enough for it to go through smoothly.

Although that did limit the amount of demage done to the target it would also make it harder for the target to remove the arrow so it was not all bad.

The jackal stood up and looked at them, it seemed it recognise her and it growled in anger, it savage teeth reflecting the warm light of the sun. He moved away from her as to not intimidate it.

She nocked another arrow and the jackal started running. He watched as she tried to aim at it but it was hard with it speed, unlike a thrown rock, predicting the movements of the jackal was harder.

Not to mention it was using the trees as cover as it ran between them. The forest was really dense making it a nightmare for an archer like her.

She released the arrow and it flew like a bullet but ofcourse she missed. To be exact she hit a tree the jackal was hidden behind. He noticed it running pattern was not random.

It seems to be aware it should use the trees as cover as it avoided any open spaces like a plague and although it looked like it was running in circles it was slowly closing the distance between them.

He thought about warning her but chose not to. I wonder if you'll be outsmarted by a beast Thea, he thought.
