Chapter 187-2: On the Cultivation of Old Coins (Part 2)

The massive Bone Dragon suddenly spun around and flew toward the middle-aged man in the priest's robes on the ground.

From several dozen blades' distance, the deathly Undead Breath spewed forth.

The breath of an 18th-level Bone Dragon had world-destroying power.

Any building touched by it instantly rotted and collapsed. Half a street was reduced to ashes under the blast.

Yet the Priest standing on the street showed no panic at all. At the critical moment, he blinked, and his figure instantly vanished from the breath's range.

Meanwhile, the Rogue slipped into stealth, and the two Warriors protected the bow-wielding Archer while also looking for opportunities to attack.

It was the first time Li De had seen human high-level professionals in battle.

It was clear these humans were used to fighting together; their coordination was extremely smooth. Each knew exactly what to do and when to do it.

So even when facing an 18th-level Bone Dragon head-on, none of them showed a trace of panic.

The Warriors held the line in front of the Archer and Priest. The Rogue, though invisible, occasionally made noises on the rooftops, showing that he was constantly looking for an opening.

Unfortunately, the Bone Dragon was too sharp and hadn't given him a good chance yet.

The battle entered a stalemate.

The Bone Dragon had the advantage of air superiority, but due to its massive size, its agility in the city was limited, and it couldn't do much to the five professionals.

On the ground, the five had a numerical advantage, but without control of the air, they couldn't reach the Bone Dragon and could only watch helplessly as it flaunted its might overhead.

Li De wasn't surprised by the scene. Both sides were tough opponents. After watching the not-so-intense battle for a moment, he seemed to think of something. He suddenly turned to Emi.

"Emi, can you leave a space mark on the Bone Dragon?"

Emi paused, then nodded decisively after thinking for a moment.

"The Bone Dragon's body is huge. Leaving a space mark won't be a problem. And because the Bone Dragon's intelligence is low, it won't notice.

The only issue is that the Bone Dragon's internal power is too massive, so the space mark will last at most half a sun-hour before disappearing."

Li De nodded, a glimmer of deep intent in his eyes.

"That's enough. That Necromancer won't be able to stay in Green City for long. Once the human Griffins and Pegasi arrive, the Bone Dragon won't have it so easy.

Once you've left the mark, will you be able to track that Necromancer?"

Emi paused briefly after hearing the command, then nodded firmly, his tone confident.

"As long as the space mark remains and it's within my casting range, there's absolutely no problem."

As a Shadow High Priest, his mastery of spatial magic was not weak. In fact, more precisely, it was mastery of shadow-based spatial magic.

Tracking and positioning were simple tasks; this was no trouble for him.

Li De's eyes lit up.

"Go now. Leave a space mark on the Bone Dragon, but don't let the Necromancer notice.

Since the Dark Pact's people didn't show up, we need to collect some other spoils."

With Emi being a Shadow High Priest, Li De had no doubt about his ability to plant the mark. If he couldn't even manage that, there'd be no use in keeping him around.

He had thought today would be a tough battle, but now things had changed dramatically. No plan survives contact with reality.

Although they no longer had to face off directly against Viscount Berna, a near-transcendent figure, Li De wasn't about to leave empty-handed. After so much preparation, if he didn't bring back some loot, wouldn't that be a waste of his entire plan?

At this moment, the Necromancer Witherbone, riding high on his Bone Dragon, naturally became the next target. Li De had a deep impression of this chatterbox.

And hunting down a Necromancer and an 18th-level Bone Dragon… that sounded quite delicious.

Bang!

At that moment, a more violent explosion sounded from the city center.

A terrifying aura surged like an apocalyptic demon had arrived, filled with heart-stopping waves of energy.

A divine aura.

Li De suddenly turned his head, eyes narrowing.

He didn't know exactly what battle was happening in the city center, but it was clear that it was a hundred times fiercer than anything at the Crimson Mage Tower.

Viscount Berna, inside a secret chamber of the City Lord's Mansion, blasted open the central cabinet with magic and pulled out a gray magic scroll, about two palms wide and half a blade long, made of unknown magical material. His face showed a thick smile.

"What a dense evil aura. No wonder that transcendent didn't carry it on him. This is a power only we of the Abyss can control.

Roy, let's go. The Twelve Magic Scrolls is ours."

If Li De had been there, he would have been shocked by Berna's words. So the ultimate goal of this Dark Pact boss was actually the legendary Artifact forged personally by the Creator: the Twelve Magic Scrolls.

Legend had it that the Twelve Magic Scrolls was divided into twelve parts, each sealing immense and mysterious energy.

Most importantly, the Twelve Magic Scrolls could grant the caster unimaginable power.

Thus, it had always been revered as a supreme Artifact among mages. However, no one had ever heard of anyone obtaining it, so most spellcasters regarded it as an ancient myth.

Roy, the Eight-Armed Serpent Demon, appeared inside the chamber, his narrow, jade-green eyes lingering coldly on Viscount Berna.

His gaze remained icy and brutal, his entire body exuding a chilling aura.

"Viscount Berna, don't forget our deal."

Berna smiled faintly. "I got the information about that dragon hatchling last year. I swear on my soul, I haven't deceived you."

Roy nodded with satisfaction. Behind him, eight muscular arms each gripped a long warblade, while his massive serpentine tail, patterned with pale gray markings, slid powerfully across the floor, looking both sturdy and terrifying.

"A pleasure working with you."

The two exchanged smiles, but both had something hidden in their eyes that the other couldn't quite grasp.

This was a deal between Abyssal demons.
