When Moro arrived at school, someone threw a rock at his head. "Ow." Moro looked up and said, " Uvie. "You were! Not only did you miss my party, but you made me worry sick. I asked your parents and around the city, but no one knew where you were!"
"Sorry, Uvie. I got lost."
"Lost where?!" Suddenly, Calvin came behind Uvie and chopped her on the neck. "Owchie! What was that for?!"
"Sorry about the heels, man. But she's got a point. You just... vanished."
"I'm sorry for missing your party, Uvie. I just... went to the wrong beach."
"Ugh, whatever. But you're gonna make it up to me later with crepes."
"Ok, ok, fair enough. Where's Milk?"
"People started to spread rumors about her. She's too timid to solve them diplomatically, and if she uses force, people will only fear her more than they already do. She's been home, and she won't answer us. I think you should drop by and pay her a visit when you have the chance."
"Ok, I will... So, as for that presentation."
"Oh yeah. It's tomorrow. We actually finished it because SOMEONE wasn't here. So, we just meet up during lunch to rehearse it. Also, your yandere has been out of control since you disappeared."
"Figures. I'll deal with her when I see her. I just wanted to get back to class for now."
Moro headed his first class. He dove down in the classroom, and immediately Willow tried to tackle him with a hug, but he jumped out of her way, making her run face-first into the wall.
"Ouch! Darling, why did you do that?"
"Because you tried to hug me without my consent."
"But dear, it's been so long."
"It's been 60 hours."
"Did you go on vacation again without telling me?"
"Maybe. I'm not in the mood now. Just sit down, alright."
"Whatever you say, husband."
"I'm not your-... whatever."
Moro took his seat next to Uvie. In front of him was Lymth, who looked rather pouty. "Took you a while. I had to do the entire project while you were away."
"S-Sorry, Lymth."
"Whatever."
"No, really. I'm sorry. Something came up and I had no control over it. But I truly am sorry."
"... It's ok. It is what it is. Now that you're back, just help us do the presentation."
"Ok."
"By the way, you have that tournament next week, right?"
"Oh yeah. In Sybil's class. I forgot about that."
"I heard that Valkyrie and the rest of the student council would participate in it as well."
"Of course they would. Is she stupid? No one in this school has the strength to beat her. With the exception of Milk, that is. Entering a tournament with her is a scam."
"Well, regardless, you should be careful."
"Don't worry, I will."
As the day continued, he got to his 3rd period and he arrived early before anyone else. There, he met Sybil, who looked over to him.
"Two sick days, huh?"
"What? I couldn't think of a better excuse."
"Well, whatever. I won't ask you what you were really doing while you were out of school. By the way, my sister's pretty mad at you."
"Well, she sure knows how to hold a grudge."
"You'll only get to use one kudo in the tournament. Who will you use?"
"Well, Eternity is my strongest by far, the best fighter I have is actually Rui, so I'll be using him."
"I see. May I ask you to reconsider?"
"Why?"
"Because my sister plans to fight you in the first round. And when she says something, it happens. Our family does control this school after all. She had 9 red-ranked kudos and is one of the strongest people in the country. I think it would be easier to just use your Anubis and be careful rather than play it risky by using a nekross."
"I see. Thanks for the words of wisdom, but it will be fine. I have faith in my partners. Color rank just determines a kudos strength and deadliness, not their skill or my own leadership. I'm sure I'll be fine."
"Ok, but don't say I didn't warn you."
Moro went over to Milk's house after school. She was in a small house in the middle of the city. He summoned Eternity to his side, who immediately held his hand gently. He looked over to her, and she stared back at him. "Uh, Eternity..."
"What is it, honey?"
"... Uh, you seem a bit different."
"Whatever could you mean?"
"Well, for one, you're holding my hand. And two, you didn't call me master like you usually do."
"Do you not like the pet name 'honey?' I could call you sweetie if it's more to your liking."
"No, that's not... nevermind. Call me whatever you want. I summoned you to ask if you could smell them."
"Who... oh, I get it." Eternity sniffed the air. "There are 40 of them. Same repulsive stench as the agents who entered our humble home."
"That many. And I've got what, 3 watching me at all times? Do they really consider that much of a threat? Our government wouldn't hesitate to nuke this city if they considered Milk a threat."
"Master, focus."
"Right... Um, are you gonna... You know... let go?"
"Why would I? Is it bothering you that your precious wife wants to be so close to you?"
"Well..." Moro blushed. "Ok, fine."
Moro entered the house with Eternity's hands in his. He noticed her tail wagging happily as he did. When he entered the house, he immediately saw a man smack a woman across the face. The woman was on the ground, saying all sorts of obscenities to the man. Meanwhile, the man was just as loud. They noticed him and Eternity and immediately froze up at the sight of an anubis.
"Wait... aren't you Milk's friend?" the man asked.
"Yes, and I assume your her parents. I just wanted to check on her."
"... She's upstairs. Now leave us be."
Moro and Eternity walked right past the arguing couple. On the other side of the house, there was a closed door. Moro knocked on it.
"Hey, Milk. It's me, Moro. Can I please come in?" The door opened moments later. At first, Milk looked at Moro with a surprised face. Then, grab Moro and put him into a headlock in the middle of her room. "Ow! Milk, what the hell!"
"I told you not to come over to my house."
"Ok, ok, just let me go already!"
After Milk calmed down, Moro realized how neat her room was. It was odd because the rest of the house outside was rather messy. Milk sat on her bed, she wore a smile, but her eyes told a different story.
"So, what brings the idiot over?"
"Oujo-sama."
"Ew, never call me that again."
"I kid, I kid. Seriously, though, I just came over because I was noticing some worrisome patterns with you. I know how timid you are. You only ever open up with me, Uvie, and Calvin. Having all the eyes on you at school must have sucked. Was that why you missed school?"
"Well... kind of. You're half right. I... I just stopped that kurega because people were getting hurt. As you know, a master can only tame as many kudos as their storage capacity allows them. The kudos' strength is a big factor in that. But... my yomatas are so powerful, I can only tame it and one other kudo. I feel... so useless. If I could have tamed the kurega, things could possibly be different at school. But now, people fear me even more. I... I didn't ask to possess the yomatas."
"Right, those are tier 0 kudos. We don't know much about this, so unbonding could potentially be dangerous."
"I wish I could be more bold like you."
Suddenly, Eternity came over to Milk and lowered a plate on her lap. It was pepper steak, Eternity's speciality (partially because it was Kudos' favorite food.)
"You must be hungry," said Eternity. "I didn't smell any food from this house in the last 7 hours."
"T-Thank you. I haven't been able to eat because... my parents have been fighting this whole time."
"Hey Milk," spoke out Moro while getting up. "What do you want from your life?"
"Huh?"
"What do you want to do? Your parents are forcing you down to different directions. But have they ever asked you what you want?"
"No. Why does that matter?"
"Because it's your life. You have the power to bring the world to their knees, but you reject that power because that's not the life you want?"
"... Promise you won't laugh at me?"
"I promise."
"I... I wanted to go to culinary school and open my own restaurant. And then... I want to meet a nice man, get married, and have 3 kids... T-Then, I wanted to just... kind of live happily."
"There's nothing wrong with that dream, Milk."
"I... I wanted that man to be Calvin."
"Oh, now things are getting interesting."
"But... I don't think he's interested in girls."
"It's not that he's not interested, he just is very busy with life. Any single man would be a fool to reject you."
"I appreciate that."
"Actually, maybe you're the fool."
"What did you just say to me?! How are you going to insult me in your compliment?!"
Moro giggled. "You're shyness is your problem. Calvin likes tomboys, not soft girls like you. But... I'm rooting for you regardless. Just because you're not his type doesn't mean he's not interested. And something tells me I think he'll like you regardless of his type. And as for your cooking, you're a good cook, and you're really kind hearted and beautiful, so I know you'll make it if you try really hard."
"Honey, we should get back home now." Eternity said while holding onto his shoulder.
Moro looked back at her. "You're right. Take care, Milk." And with the snap of her fingers, Eternity teleported them away.
Now, Milk was all alone in her room. But then, she thought to herself, "Did she just call him honey?"
