CHAPTER 8
-NEXT DAY-
Kaito got up from his sleep . He checked his hand which he felt like completely healed but still he didn't unbandage them . He freshed up as he wore his school uniform . He took his id card and headed towards the Class .
Today was definitely different , all the students greeted him like their own . He started to feel more home-like now . Kaito knew today was their mission date so he headed towards the training hall . He entered as he saw that the students of Class A and B present there . All of them haven't reached yet . Kaito entered and everyone's gaze shifted towards him . The eyes of people full of admiration and friendship . Many students approached Kaito as he was surrounded . He was attacked with a load of questions . Suddenly a hand pulled him from the center . It was Kendo
Kendo crossed his arms over Kaito's shoulders as he said
"Come on guys . Let the man breathe atleast"
Everyone understood their mistakes and apologized . Kaito managed to calm everyone down . Kendo said
"You okay man ?"
"Huh !? Oh yeah . Just a bit of pain in my left arm"
"Why ?"
"It was broken yesterday"
"Makes sense . Anyway , I didn't expect you to go against him toe-to-toe"
"Well , my physique makes it more easier to cover for the level gap"

Kendo entered the capsule as it closed . Kendo had his eyes closed , a suit started to assemble on his body . After the suit was assembled , a number was seen on his door of the capsule . The system announced
"COMBAT SUIT EQUIPPED . USER : KENDO ICHINOSE . COMBAT POWER RELEASED : 52% . RANK : A DETERMINED"
This announcement suddenly filled the room with claps and cheers . Kaito also noticed those numbers on many announcement . Kendo's was 52% which was greater than everyone in the room . The average was about 15 % for each student . Kendo came out of the capsule . He stood in front of Kaito .
"So , how does it look ?"
"Amazing"
"Did you realised what those numbers are ?"
"No"
"These are military combat suits which are used by every one from Class B and above of each year . These suits provide protection and also has an amplification effect . The number on the screen is the amount of combat power released from this suit . The greater the number , the greater the amplification and more the power . The rank is also important . It shows the rank of power you have after amplification. I have received Rank A , i.e. even if my stats are at B-Rank , I have the power equivalent to a Peak A-Rank with the combat suit on. I have the highest among this year students . A combat power release of 52 %"
"I see"
"This isn't too much , the combat power release of Class S students already reached 60 %" said Akane
"Really ?"
"Yes , let me be next"
Akane entered the capsule as she also was equipped with the suit . The screen on her capsule also glowed which showed a number . The system announcement was heard again .
"COMBAT SUIT EQUIPPED . USER : AKANE KARUISAWA . COMBAT POWER RELEASED : 49 % . RANK A DETERMINED "
Another wave of cheers followed through . Akane was the second strongest after Kendo . The combat power released by Akane also surprised Kaito . She came out of the capsule
"I am the next combat power releaser after Kendo . I also have the power of a Peak A-Rank after amplification. That's why I became the Vice-President"
"Interesting" said Kaito
"Now , Kaito-kun , you enter"
Kaito gulped . Kendo placed a hand on his shoulder as he said
"Don't fret . Even if you release a 20 % combat power its considered good among first years"
"Thanks for that"
Kaito entered the capsule as the door closed . Kaito's body was also equipped with the suit . After he was equipped the number appeared on Kaito's Capsule . The announcement was heard once again .
"COMBAT SUIT EQUIPPED . USER : KAITO SAKURA . COMBAT POWER RELEASED : 68% . RANK : S DETERMINED"
Kaito's assessment shocked everyone . Kaito came out of the capsule as he looked around . He could see the shock on their faces . Suddenly , the students erupted in joy . Kendo tapped Kaito's shoulder as he said
"Good job bro . You have a combat power release of 68% which is difficult even for Class S students to acquire"
"Thanks but actually it wasn't my doing"
"It's the combat power you released . Your power is amplified to S-Rank"
"Interesting"
"I look forward to the competition"
"Me too"
The teacher spoke once again . He said
"Students , the city which we will go today is City Z"
"Students please be ready for the teleportation"
'City Z , huh ?!'

They all headed towards the portal as they passed through and reached the other side . Kaito saw a huge city with many building and infrastructures but it was now destroyed . The teached continued

Everyone stood near the edge of the rooftop they were standing on . Kendo and Akane came towards him .

"Hunting in teams are more convinient . We three can form a team"

Kaito went more forward . One step and he will fall off . Kaito looked towards both of them . He turned back as he let himself fall from the roof . He landed on the ground as a crater formed . Kaito was a little confused with his powers after the suit's amplification . He stood near the building as he punched the wall . The wall broke through . Kaito was surprised to see the increase in power .

Kaito felt a little shaking in the ground . The shaking got stronger as he jumped up , in that moment , a lizard came out from the ground . It was a lizard with a height of 20 m . Kaito landed on the ground . The lizard came towards him as Kaito bent his body . The lizard crossed him and crashed on the ground . Dust particles spread everywhere . Kaito dashed with his sword and sliced the lizard in half . He landed on the ground and wiped off his sweat .

Kaito continued to move towards the city more . His senses have become much sharper after reaching S-Rank . He was trying to get used to the feeling of becoming powerful .

Kaito was in thought as he was travelling so he probably didn't sense the presence near him . A creature jumped from a high place as it landed near Kaito . The crash was strong enough to make Kaito tremble on his feet . The dust cleared as Kaito saw a beast . It was a gaint ape with a two headed axe .

The ape didn't wait as it swinged his gaint axe . Kaito was unable to avoid it as he blocked with his sword . The attack was too strong as Kaito got thrown away as he crashed on a building wall . Kaito got up as he wiped the blood off his mouth . He gathered his mana on his sword as the slash affected the ape . It had a giant wound on his chest but it wasn't enough to kill him . He again slammed his axe but Kaito dodged . He moved to the ape's blind point as he slashed . The ape caught it and pulled Kaito towards him . Kaito received a punch on his abdomen as he crashed on the road .
Kaito was feeling a little pissed but he kept his cool . He knew that A-Rank monsters are difficult creatures to deal with even for S-Ranks but he never thought it was this difficult . Kaito got up as he closed his eyes . He concentrated his mana in a straight path as he infused it to the sword . He opened his eyes .

A bright light released from Kaito's sword as his sword extended in length with mana and he slashed his sword in a downward direction . The sword passed through the beasts defences as it divided it in half . The beast fell down as Kaito sat on the ground . He was breathing heavily .
'A-Rank beasts are difficult than I thought'

Kaito got up as he started running towards the center . After leveling up , his mana and health bar are completely full and his fatigue was also removed .
'I wonder where Kendo and others are hunting'
At that moment , he heard a sound of an explosion . It wasn't a sound which would be made by explosives so he knew the meaning . A fight is going on . He rushed towards the sound of the explosion . He saw from a distance that the people fighting were Kendo's team . He recognised a few of them . It were Kendo , Ryojo and Akane but he didn't recognise the tank . Their team was completely balanced with the unknown student as a tanker , Kendo as a damage dealer , Ryojo as the mage and Akane as the support . Kaito knew that Akane was a mage but he didn't even realise that she has support skills too apart from mage skills . They were fighting against an A-Rank monster . Kaito realised that this beast was stronger than the one Kaito fought .
Kaito was wondering if he should help them but then he saw a worse sight . The shield of the tank broke as the others became venerable . The monster who also used a giant broadsword was about to attack Ryojo and Akane as he seem to have realised that they were the ones who provided the max damage and support . They were about to be killed when Kaito rushed towards them . He raised his hand towards them .
-2-Star (Void Magic) : Void Barrier
They were covered in a barrier which they also didn't know the origin of . The weapon slammed on the barrier . It was a little cracked but it didn't break . Kaito caught up in that moment as he kicked the beast away from them . The beast flew away as it crashed on a building . Everyone seemed to be surprised as Kaito released the barrier .
"Kaito-kun …?" said Akane
"You okay ?"
"Y-Yeah , we will be alright"
"Kaito !!" said Kendo
"Be careful while fighting an A-Rank"
"Sorry but how are you here ?"
"I was just passing by as I heard the sound of a fight and came to look"
"What was that barrier just now ?"
"Do you really have to know about that now ? Can't you see the beast ?"
"Ah , sorry"
"I will take command if it doesn't bother anyone"
"No it doesn't" everyone said
"Alright . Kendo and what was your name ?" he said as he looked towards the tank
"I am Ren Kazuma from Class 1-B"
"Alright . Kendo and Kazuma take your positions in the middle . Ryojo attack it with your spell and Akane buff us . Is that okay ?"
"Okay"
"Good , now take positions . Its coming"
The roar of the beast was heard from the smoke . The beast came running towards them . Kendo and Kazuma rushed towards it and inflicted damage from both sides on its legs as the beast trembled . Akane provided a strength and Agility buff to all of them as Ryojo attacked it with her magic .
-4-Star (Fire Magic) : Meteor Strike
A huge ball of flame rushed towards it . The beast blocked it as he threw it away but he wasn't aware that Kaito was just after it . Kaito rushed towards the beast along with the meteor . As it deflected the meteor , Kaito jumped towards it .

A concentrated wave of mana released from his sword as it sliced the beasts neck from its body as it flew away and landed near Kendo's feet . Kaito got up as he inserted his sword back into his sheath . They all came towards him
"That was amazing , Kaito" said Kendo
"You are really strong , Kaito-kun" said Akane
"It was nothing . If everyone didn't help it would be difficult for me"
"You always put credit on others"
"Nah , its just my habit but I must say if Ryojo didn't shower her attack , I would be caught in that ambush"
"Speaking of which , where is she ?"
Ryojo was at quite a distance from them . She didn't move from the place from where she attacked . She was looking the other way so that others can't see her . Her face was red like a tomato .
'Kyaa !! He is so cool'
'Kaito-kun is so cool'
At that moment , she felt a hand on her shoulder . She turned to see Kaito only a few inches away from him . She was so surprised that she moved a few meters away from him . Kaito seemed a little confused . All the others too except Akane .
"Are you alright ?" asked Kaito

"You sure ? Your face is red"
"I am okay"
"If you say so"
Kaito turned towards Kendo and Ren . Kaito kept a hand on Kendo's shoulder as he said
"Well , bro , be careful while fighting against A-Rank"
"Wait , are you not gonna take the spoils ?"
"Nah , I'll leave them to you . After all , it was your team who found it first"
"But …You killed it"
"Doesn't matter . Keep it "
"alright"
"I am heading out now . Meet you in three days"

"And be careful with monsters , like this one"
As Kaito said that he slashed his sword towards the back of Ryojo . She was surprised as well as the others but they saw that Kaito had killed a C-Rank beast behind Ryojo .
"These are some annoying beasts"
"Is this Dual Bladed Mantis ?"
"They are . They have good stealth skills so they can easily sneak around . The only thing they have less is their intelligence"

Kaito went ahead as he jumped off and reached the height of a building and vanished . His speed was comparable to a top tier S-Rank hunter . Kaito reached a comparatively safe place to stay . He hunted for the whole day and he will hunt at night . He will take some time to release the mental fatigue .
