Whispers and Fireworks Reckless Kisses and Mated Hearts

The bass pounded through the club, vibrating under my feet as I watched Seraphina sway dangerously toward yet another stranger. Her usually perfect hair was disheveled, her eyes unfocused as she giggled at something the man whispered in her ear. I sighed, pushing through the crowd to reach her.

"Ser," I called out, placing myself between her and the persistent guy who'd been hovering around her for the past fifteen minutes. "I think it's time we get some fresh air."

Seraphina pouted but allowed me to guide her away from the dance floor. Her body was warm against mine, her movements unsteady as we navigated through the packed club.

"Julian," she slurred, "have I told you how much I love your face? It's a really good face."

I couldn't help but smile despite my concern. "Yes, several times in the last hour alone."
