Chapter 65: Snatching Your Opportunity!

Earth 700, New York, Brooklyn Underground.

Peter only vaguely remembered the plot of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, but after transmigrating to this universe, he quickly pinpointed his timeline—Miles hadn't been bitten yet.

This was because New York had just experienced its second earthquake. In other words, this was Wilson Fisk's second activation of the collider in this universe. At this time, in the original plot, Gwen Stacy, Spider-Gwen from Earth-65, had just arrived, and due to the multiverse collider's influence, she had traveled back a week.

This meant that the Peter Parker of this universe should have just finished creating the key to stop the collider and hadn't yet taken action.

Peter had visited several high schools near Brooklyn and successfully found Visions Academy, the high school Miles attended, but he didn't find Gwen, who should have transmigrated and disguised herself as a high school student in the original plot.

"This is good news; it means the multiverse collider won't explode in seven days, and they haven't transmigrated yet—perhaps I've succeeded." Peter, climbing along the top of a subway maintenance tunnel in Brooklyn, finally found his destination.

"And—this looks very familiar."

The inverted Spider-Man followed the subway line to a disused subway control station underground. A spacious tunnel was tightly sealed by an electronic key-card door. Beyond the door was a passage filled with construction waste, with walls covered in various street graffiti. The glass protective cover above had shattered, revealing the metal frame.

Undoubtedly, the Miles of this universe was bitten here, and by the timeline, he shouldn't have been bitten yet.

Luckily, he had brought some money to buy a small box for reptiles. He wondered if the Spider from Earth-42 was here now... Or perhaps it wasn't time yet, so it hadn't arrived?

But it didn't matter. He just had to wait here.

Or perhaps...

Peter looked at the dust-covered glass of the control station. Behind it was the abandoned subway tunnel where Wilson Fisk had built the multiverse collider. Would going there now allow him to directly dismantle the multiverse collider?

"Forget it. Since the Peter Parker of this universe didn't choose to forcibly dismantle it but kept a key, it means this is the best solution. I'll just buy some supplies and wait for Miles and Prowler to show up. I wonder how many days I'll have to wait."

Of course, the worst-case scenario was that the Spider from Earth-42 also didn't transmigrate, but that would just mean he'd have to stay a few more days. Besides, he had already seen that spider in his dreams and through his spider-sense; it definitely had to be here.

"...I hope the Avengers can handle my absence from school for a few days, especially if Aunt May and Uncle Ben come back and find me missing. They'd be scared half to death. Someone needs to tell them I'm interning at the Baxter Building."

Taking off his suit, Peter Parker, a 15-year-old high school student, left the abandoned control room first. He needed to prepare supplies for the next few days.

A few nights later.

"Hey, how do you know this place?"

"I did some engineering work here."

The long-awaited voices echoed through the empty, abandoned subway. Peter, who had been on the ceiling beams for several nights, flipped over, activated the infrared scan on his mask, and began to search the surroundings. He heard footsteps on the protective door, but at the same time, he found what he was looking for.

A large spider with "42" and "Alchemax" on its back, its eight legs glowing, was wandering not far from him.

Instantly, the spider looked at Peter, and Peter looked at the spider. His spider-sense buzzed, and his attention focused on the spider. The Earth-42 spider seemed to notice something and raised one of its legs.

Thwip! Very quickly, a web stuck to the small spider. Peter tiptoed to the webbed spider, picked it up. The spider squirmed restlessly, then opened its sharp mandibles and bit Peter's hand hard.

At this moment, Miles and Aaron Davis had already walked directly below him. Peter endured the pain, then heard Miles shout, "Brooklyn!" He breathed a sigh of relief, took the spider off his hand, and put it into the reptile box.

"Biting me is useless... I'm already Spider-Man. Oh, just don't turn me into a human spider or an octo-spider."

Peter mumbled, hiding to the side and quietly climbing away. Miles, completely unaware that his fate had been altered, began his carefree graffiti work. Only Prowler sensed something and looked up, but saw nothing.

"What's wrong, Uncle Aaron?"

"No, nothing. Let's continue."

Peter, who had quietly climbed out of the subway station, breathed a sigh of relief. The next step was simple: find the Spider-Man of this world, tell him what he knew, then together stop Wilson Fisk from causing a collision crisis by pulling multiple universes together. Finally, send the Earth-42 spider back to bite the Miles of that universe, and everything would be accomplished.

Then, as he swung through Brooklyn, he felt his spider-sense begin to sting. He quickly swung on a web to dodge, but it seemed his movements were predicted, and he was kicked directly onto the roof of a building, rolling once before standing up.

Frightened, Peter quickly checked the box. Thankfully, the Earth-42 spider was very resilient and still jumping around inside.

He hadn't even stood firm when he heard an unfamiliar voice.

"At first, I didn't believe the news that another Spider-Man had appeared in New York, but now I have to. Chameleon? I thought you were staying put in prison."

A Spider-Man taller than him landed in front of Peter with a perfect superhero landing. After standing upright, he pointed at him, "Go back to prison obediently, you fake!"

"What? No, I'm not a fake."

Peter patted his chest, then looked at the Spider-Man, "Why are you pointing at me?"

"I'm not pointing at you; you're pointing at me..."

The argument didn't last long because their spider-senses began to resonate. The adult Spider-Man in front of him said "Oh," then reacted, "You, me? We're the same? Are you a clone or something?"

"I'm Peter Parker, Peter Benjamin Parker." Peter quickly waved his hand, "I'm from another universe. I also know who you are, I know what you're doing, and I'm here to help."

"...So, Fisk succeeded."

The Spider-Man of this universe finally understood everything. He sighed and shrugged, "Alright, let's go home. I mean, my home. Let's go, you know the place, right?"

"Forest Hills Gardens, 20 Ingram Street, right?"

"So you really are me, even our houses are the same."

The two Spider-Men left together, but a moment later, the space on the rooftop where they had been standing warped. Then, another person emerged. He wore a metallic black suit with a large red spider emblem glowing with dangerous red light. He was a Spider-Man from another universe, a Spider-Man from 2099.

He raised his arm, and a virtual assistant in the form of a young woman appeared from his wristband.

"Confirm our current universe number, Lyla."

"Earth-700. We've landed safely. It seems the parallel universes are not at risk of collapsing yet."

"Good." Spider-Man 2099 activated his scanning device, checking everything around him, and found traces of another Spider-Man not belonging to this world. "Where did that kid come from?"

"According to the multiverse resonance signal... he's from Earth-616."

"616? The universe with the strongest reality barrier?" Spider-Man 2099 said as he leaped from the high-rise, chasing after the two Spider-Men who had already left. "No matter what, we have to prevent the Web of Life and Destiny from being disrupted."
