Nathaniel’s fury

The next morning…

Nathaniel was already deep into a video call, his voice calm but firm as he addressed the displeased overseas client. The cancelled business trip from a few days back had left the client sour, and Nathaniel had been working overtime to smooth things over.

Even though it was Sunday, he hadn't spared himself. This meeting was crucial. After a lengthy back-and-forth, filled with explanations and reassurances, the client finally relented.

"I accept your invitation," Nathaniel said with a polite smile. "I'll reschedule the visit. And this time, there won't be any cancellations. It's a promise."

The meeting ended with that. He closed his laptop and leaned back, exhaling deeply. The tension eased from his shoulders. Conflict resolved. A victorious smile appeared on his face.

Knock-knock.

He sat up straight. "Come in."

Mrs. Jules stepped in, holding a plain envelope. "A parcel just arrived," she said, setting it on the table.
