"Man, I don't like the way Amara looked at us when we entered the class. It looked like she was about to kill us; and I bet that if looks could kill we would have already been dead," Joe said with a nervous voice.
"Ah, Joe, my boy, don't be scared. She's blowing nothing but hot air, she's like a toothless barking dog," Cassie said with an unbothered look on her face.
"I highly doubt that she wouldn't do anything to us. If I know one thing, it is that Amara Nelson is an egoistic and petty person. She felt like we humiliated her so she's going to retaliate, that I am sure about," Henry said.
"Yeah, you're right, she doesn't even have to do anything. Those dumb fucks who are trying to get her attention would do anything just to please her," Casper said with a serious look.
"They are willing to kiss and lick her butthole if it pleases her," Joe said.
The group's faces quickly turned sour as they came to a realization.
"So, in other words, we are screwed," Joe said with a sigh.
"And we should look at everyone as an enemy. Don't trust anyone, no matter who they are," Cassie said with a stern tone.
"We shouldn't trust anyone?" Joe asked.
"Did I stutter the first time? Don't trust anyone at all no matter who they are," Cassie said.
"What about us? Do you mean we shouldn't trust ourselves?" Joe asked.
Cassie slapped Joe on the back of his head in annoyance.
"You idiot, when I said anyone, I wasn't referring to us, we are not anyone, you dumb fuck," she said.
"Cassie and her crew, you guys should tone it down," Mrs. Delight, who had just entered the class, screamed.
"The four of you are always giving me a headache in this school. I think I will split you guys up!" Mrs. Delight said.
"Sorry, ma'am," they all said.
Mrs. Delight studied them for a while before picking up her marker and writing the topic on the board.
"Grr! Grr! Grr!" The school bell rang, signifying the end of the lecture for the day.
"Finally!" Cassie shouted excitedly as she shot up from her seat.
As they stood up to leave, they didn't notice the dangerous look Amara Nelson threw their way.
"Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!" Casper's phone rang.
Taking it out, he saw that his mom had sent him a message.
"Who's that, Casper?" Joe asked.
"It's my mom, she wants me to get something from the grocery store," Casper said as he scrolled through his mom's text.
"Ooh, let's swing by the grocery store then. Tell her we said hi!" Cassie said as the others nodded in agreement.
Casper nodded before replying to his mom's text.
"Ok, Mom. Cassie and the rest say hi." Casper texted.
"Oh, tell them I say hi too," Mrs. Margaret said.
"Ok, I will," Casper texted.
"Bye, sweetheart, see you at home," she said, adding a smiley and love emoji.
"Bye, Mom. See you at home, then," Casper replied and added a heart emoji.
After replying to his mom's text, Casper put his phone into his pocket as he and the crew made their way to the grocery store.
"Oh, I nearly forgot—Mom said hi too." he said.
The grocery store was not that far from Avaddon Academy. It was only a ten-minute walk from the school.
The crew talked as they made their way to the grocery store.
Getting to the grocery store, they made their way to the aisle to get some groceries.
"So, what are we meant to get?" Cassie asked.
"I will send you guys a list of the groceries to get, we should split up to get the groceries faster," Casper said as he sent a text to them.
The group nodded as they split up to get the groceries.
After about five minutes or so, the group came back.
"Got everything?" Casper asked.
"Yeah," Cassie and the group answered.
Casper nodded as he cross-checked the list. After some time, he saw that all the things on the list checked out.
They went to the checkout counter to pay. The cashier scanned their groceries and told them the amount to pay. Casper quickly transferred the money to the cashier before leaving.
As they walked, Henry couldn't help but notice that they were being followed.
"Hey! You guys shouldn't panic, but I think we are being followed," Henry said.
"What?" Joe shouted as he wanted to look back.
"I said don't panic. Do you want them to know that we are on to them?" Henry asked as he held Joe, preventing him from turning around.
"Sorry," Joe muttered softly.
"Henry, how do you know that they are following us?" Cassie asked.
"Well, I saw the same guys in the grocery store earlier, and they were throwing glances our way while pretending to shop," Henry said.
"Maybe they were just shopping," Joe said.
"Don't be stupid, if they were shopping there would be groceries in their hands," Casper said.
"Henry, why didn't you inform us earlier?" Cassie asked.
"I wasn't sure, I wanted to make sure of my findings before voicing it. I didn't want to accuse innocent people in vain," he responded.
"I thought you were the smart one, you are supposed to tell us when you notice something odd," Cassie said.
"Do... Do you guys think Mr. Dickson sent these people after us?" Joe asked fearfully.
"That bastard," Cassie spoke through gritted teeth.
"I don't think he's the one," Henry said.
"What do you mean?" Casper asked.
"These people are clearly amateurs, if it were Mr. Dickson, I believe he would hire a more capable person. He seems like the kind of person who prefers doing a clean, smooth job." Henry responded.
"Then why are they following us?" Joe asked.
"We look like easy targets, so I bet they want to rob us of our money," Henry responded. "But we are safe for now, since there are lots of people here."
