Chapter 66: Reverse Summoning

"Oil Bullet."

"Heavenly Spin."

"..."

"Why has Jiraiya gone soft?" Obito sighed. "It's just a chunin — is he really that nervous?"

He didn't get it.

Zetsu: "..."

The two Mist Anbu watching the battle, however, lit up with realization.

At first, they hadn't recognized Jiraiya's identity.

But when Hiroki revealed bulging veins and used Heavenly Spin to release his chakra, they understood who he was — a member of the Hyuga Clan.

Now they recognized him — a Hyuga.

There was someone with the Byakugan in their own village too — Jonin Ao.

He not only possessed exceptional strength but also impressive battle achievements.

If they had the Byakugan too, would they be able to rise in power and status like him?

Now they wanted to know whether this Hyuga was from the Branch House or Main House.

Their eyes focused on the forehead protector covering Hiroki's head.

"Let me do it," Kaguya spoke.

"There are so many people watching."

"Can't I protect you? Besides, Zetsu is here too."

Kaguya's calm voice had barely faded when Hiroki suddenly felt his body slip out of his control.

[God Vacuum Strike].

Whether it was to conserve chakra or intentionally holding back, Kaguya only used God Vacuum Strike instead of the full Eighty Gods Vacuum Attack.

Everyone watched as an enormous fist made of solidified chakra appeared out of nowhere.

Obito felt shock in his heart.

"It looks sturdier than Susanoo... Could this be his ultimate move?"

"Could this be a stronger version of the earlier God Vacuum Strike?"

Though Obito wasn't the strongest ninja around, under Madara Uchiha's teachings, his knowledge ranked among the best. He immediately noticed the connection between these techniques.

Black Zetsu stayed silent, already planning his excuse.

The Mist Anbu shifted their focus from how to obtain Hiroki's eyes to questioning his purpose.

"What is such a powerful person doing coming to Kirigakure?"

Facing this attack directly, Jiraiya could even more keenly feel its terrifying power.

"He's completely incomparable to Yugao Uzuki in terms of strength. Why is that?"

While his mind raced trying to figure things out, Jiraiya slammed both hands onto the ground, activating his defensive technique.

[Summoning Technique - Toad Mouth Bind].

Those observing could only see a massive, slimy, irregular pink mass suddenly appear where Jiraiya and Hiroki stood, enveloping them inside.

On the outside of the pink mass, strange fluids dripped down every now and then.

They had no idea what was going on inside.

Crack...

It sounded like ripping paper and crumbling walls combined.

Obito and others witnessed a large hole ripped through the pink mass as Jiraiya flew out, crashing to the ground with a boom, landing in a deep crater.

At the hole in the pink mass, blue chakra currents drifted outward.

What Jiraiya had summoned was part of the stomach lining from Gamashima of Mount Myōboku, often used for defense purposes.

After suffering such a heavy blow, the pink stomach wall kept convulsing, seemingly contracting, then eventually dissipated into smoke and vanished entirely.

Jiraiya lay on the ground, his internal organs seemingly displaced, pain preventing him from breathing properly as he coughed violently, blood continuously flowing out.

His body was already soaked in blood.

From the corner of his eye, Jiraiya saw the Hyuga boy approaching. The boy's expression was cold, his eyes filled with mockery and amusement.

Stopping in his tracks, he stretched out his hand once more.

[God Vacuum Strike]

A powerful impact surged forth again.

Two Mist Anbu were too shocked to speak.

Obito paused before asking, "Is Jiraiya dead?"

White Zetsu responded, "His presence suddenly vanished. He probably escaped using a space ninjutsu-like technique."

"What a shame. As for that Hiroki Hyuga…" Obito mused.

"Hiroki spoke up, asking, "Did you intentionally let him go, Kaguya?"

He had seen it clearly—just as the second [God Vacuum Strike] was about to hit Jiraiya, a burst of smoke appeared, and then Jiraiya's body vanished.

It was obvious someone had rescued him using Reverse Summoning.

But given Kaguya's abilities, if she truly wanted Jiraiya dead, there would've been no chance for him to survive.

Without even mentioning that, with just one All-Killing Ash Bones, even if Jiraiya was taken away, his body would have disintegrated.

"It doesn't matter. I've marked him. His survival only helps me locate Mount Myoboku's location. Besides, even if we killed him, the Frogs would just support someone else. At least with this person, we know exactly what we're dealing with."

Hiroki wondered how long it would take for Jiraiya to recover.

Months? Definitely not years.

If he recovers, he wouldn't go back to Konoha, would he?

Obito, what are you still doing hiding in Kiri? Why haven't you started advancing the plot yet?

Hiroki always felt that these backstage figures of Akatsuki all suffered from procrastination.

Madara Uchiha refused to bother fighting anyone he looked down upon, so he handed over his eyes and plans for others to execute while he waited for resurrection to simply seize the results for himself.

Obito Uchiha possessed enough strength to challenge the entire Ninja World but kept delaying everything, compounded by his attempts to escape Madara's control—something Hiroki could somewhat understand.

However, Nagato Uzumaki confused him.

Nagato spoke of awakening the world through pain, yet he never sent anyone to spread his teachings—he just repeated lofty, abstract ideas.

Everything takes time, but at this rate, who could possibly understand?

Hiroki grumbled internally until Kaguya finally left his body.

Though he didn't feel the agonizing pain he'd imagined, an overwhelming emptiness swept through him, making his steps shaky and his limbs weak, almost like he was drained.

He guessed it must still have been within his physical limits, hence no serious side effects.

"I can learn this technique too, right?"

"You don't have enough chakra. Don't even think about it," Kaguya replied bluntly.

"Obito, he seems to have lost his fighting capability. That technique must've come at quite a cost," Black Zetsu remarked.

"Hmm?" Obito focused his gaze and saw Hiroki leaning against a large tree, eyes slightly closed, muscles relaxed, apparently meditating right on the spot.

"Obito, why don't we recruit him into Akatsuki?" Black Zetsu suddenly suggested.

He thought he knew Obito well enough to make that suggestion.

After Madara Uchiha shattered Obito's ideals and sent him spiraling into darkness, the Moon Eye Plan (Tsukuyomi's ultimate vision) had become his lifelong goal.

Obito, masquerading as Madara, was steadily turning into the man he once despised.

How could an adult stoop to getting angry with someone beneath him? Anyone or anything useful could be treated as a pawn.

This was true for Madara Uchiha, and just as much for Obito Uchiha, who had long since buried his emotions.

Anyone who posed no threat wasn't worth his attention.

Only someone who could break through Kamui would earn his intent to kill.

Hiroki Hyuga hadn't demonstrated such an ability.
