Hizashi didn't say anything, but a growing sense of discontent churned inside him.
Hiroki's case—whether it was backed by solid evidence or not—could wait for discussion.
But ever since the Third Hokage appeared, clan members had fallen into baseless suspicions again and again. This made him doubt Hiruzen's true intentions—was he trying to provoke internal conflict within the Hyuga clan?
Amidst all the noise, only a few people led by Hiruzen Sarutobi remained calm.
Once the commotion quieted slightly, Hiruzen finally spoke with calm detachment, "When it comes to understanding this girl, Hinata Hyuga knows her best."
"Lord Third, are you suggesting Hinata should also be investigated by the Interrogation Unit?" Hiroki immediately responded.
Before Hiruzen could answer, Hizashi's nerves were already on edge at those words.
He knew full well what methods the Interrogation Unit used.
Whether Hiashi was present or not, such a thing absolutely could not happen.
He roared in anger, "Lord Third, please don't push too far! It is Konoha that needs the Hyuga, not the other way around!"
As soon as the words left his mouth, Hizashi felt a flicker of regret—when would his older brother finally return?
Hiruzen gave one last deep look at the gathered Hyugas before leaving in silence, accompanied by ANBU and White Zetsu's corpse.
The remaining Hyugas felt uneasy.
Although they found satisfaction in Hizashi's bold declaration, they worried it might have gone too far—who could predict what consequences might follow…
Looking at the silent crowd, Hizashi couldn't find the right words. With an inward sigh, he dismissed everyone.
After most had left, Hinata cautiously asked, "Uncle Hizashi, where exactly did Father go?"
Thinking briefly, Hizashi replied, "I vaguely remember hearing something about him planning to go to the moon."
At this, Hiroki froze.
Not bad, Hiashi—you really do take initiative, huh.
Back at home, Hiruzen's face darkened instantly.
He clenched his fist and slammed it hard into the wall.
The impact exploded through the room. A deep dent appeared, and fractures spread outward like a spiderweb across the wall's surface.
His expression returned to its usual calmness as he spoke toward a shadowed corner, "Is Jiraiya still on Mount Myoboku? Have him bring Naruto back immediately."
"At once, my lord," a faint voice echoed from the darkness.
Around nine in the morning, Hiroki dragged out a rattan chair and half-reclined on it, yawning lazily.
"Wonder what the old man is up to now?"
"…"
"If Jiraiya and his crew think they can kill their way out of this, I've got a better idea—we take control of every person on the planet. He can kill one man, but can he slaughter the entire world? Even heroes can turn into monsters." Hiroki smirked mischievously.
"Don't you ever get tired of plotting? I'm already exhausted."
"Kaguya, if the seal breaks, will you lose control over this power?"
"And you won't be able to borrow my strength anymore," Kaguya added tonelessly.
Chakra gathered at his fingertips, forming a miniature Rasengan the width of a fingertip, spinning rapidly with a light blue glow. Hiroki Hyuga fell silent, increasingly feeling like he was destined to be nothing more than a pawn.
"Wait a second, what do you mean by 'borrowing power'? I only borrowed a bit of chakra. Wasn't it always you who was borrowing my body?" After a long silence, he seemed to suddenly realize something and spoke with a trace of bitterness.
"Alright then, prepare yourself."
Instantly, Hiroki Hyuga felt his mind become clear and his body weightless, as if floating.
As he felt the surging power within him, he couldn't help but feel thrilled.
God... What level of strength is this?
No wonder she's so arrogant—how could anyone not be cocky with such overwhelming power?
It felt as if all living beings were nothing more than ants crawling at his feet, and everyone in Konoha could be crushed effortlessly.
No, not just Konoha—but also the Land of Demons, the Land of Earth, the Land of Iron, the Land of Lightning, the Land of Rain, the Land of Wind, the Land of Fire, the Country of Frost... essentially, the majority of the Ninja World. Wherever his awareness reached, every lifeform within his sensor range—no one could stand against him.
Hmm? I even have such powerful sensory abilities now?
And the endless stream of chakra continuously flowing without end...
She wasn't even in her prime anymore—and yet her chakra reserves were still this vast?
"That's enough."
The moment Kaguya spoke, the sensations vanished instantly.
A wave of emptiness and disappointment washed over him—he was back to normal.
"...That was less than twenty seconds. So it's possible to transfer it like this? Then why did you always insist on doing things yourself before?"
"There's no difference," Kaguya inwardly chuckled, carefully maintaining a calm tone. "Besides, you've never touched power at this level before. You wouldn't be able to control it perfectly, nor can we be sure how long your body could endure it. One slight mistake could lead to your complete physical collapse."
Of course there was a difference.
When it belonged to you, you could distribute it however you liked.
But when someone else went ahead and wasted it, it would inevitably leave an unpleasant feeling inside.
Still, she now felt a little less bothered about it.
Hiroki had no words.
So I could've been unstoppable this whole time...
"Kaguya, don't you think it's beneath you—an existence of supreme power—to personally handle every enemy yourself?"
"I'm done talking. Tsunade and the others are almost here," Kaguya replied flatly.
Hiroki: "..."
Though he had simply summoned himself from the lush forests of Mount Myoboku to the tightly-packed rooftops of Konoha, Jiraiya still felt as if he had entered another world entirely.
Upon his appearance, many expressions flickered across the faces of Konoha's villagers.
Because of the previous assassination attempt on the Hot Water Daimyo, several nations' rulers publicly denounced Jiraiya, which led some citizens to develop negative opinions of him.
Ignoring their glares, Jiraiya walked calmly into the Hokage Building.
No one stopped him. He smoothly reached the office of the Third Hokage.
"Back already?"
Hiruzen Sarutobi casually greeted.
Jiraiya nodded.
"The person you mentioned, Jiraiya, I encountered him too. Exactly as you said, he was impersonating Hiroki Hyuga."
As he spoke, Hiruzen led Jiraiya into a room where White Zetsu's corpse lay on a platform.
"Did you get anything from him?"
"Nothing at all," Hiruzen replied with a troubled shake of his head.
They both sighed and sat down on separate single sofas to talk things over.
"Jiraiya," Hiruzen asked with a complicated expression after briefly recounting what had happened to the Hyuga Clan, "tell me, should we target the Hyuga Clan?"
Jiraiya didn't respond.
He couldn't help but marvel at how Kaguya managed to choose her people so well.
Especially since one of them was the pride and joy of the Hyuga family.
And especially since only Naruto could identify them.
Yet hardly anyone listened to what Naruto had to say.
Thinking about it gave him a bit of a headache.
Suddenly, Hiruzen murmured, "Jiraiya, perhaps you shouldn't have taken Naruto away. If he had stayed in Konoha, with friends and classmates around, there would've been at least a few people willing to believe him."
What's the point in saying that now?
Jiraiya also felt a surge of anger in his heart. He snapped coldly, "Yeah, if Naruto wasn't the [Yao Gu] (a nine-tailed fox spirit), making friends would've been a lot easier for him."
This time it was Hiruzen's turn to fall silent. He knew only too well that letting Naruto endure so much negativity from such a young age was entirely his fault.
