Aria's POV.
I stood frozen, my heart pounding so hard I thought it would burst. Seraphina's words echoed in my head, sharp and mean.
"Kael is mine," she'd said, her green eyes glinting with a nasty grin, like she was daring me to fight back.
My stomach twisted, a mix of shock and anger burning in my chest. She stepped closer, her boots clicking on the wooden floor of the Fang Pack's guest room, her blonde hair catching the morning light.
"Don't you think you should act like everyone else and leave?" she snarled, her voice low, dripping with venom.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. My hands clenched, my nails biting into my palms. "What?" I said, my voice shaking.
"You're claiming your own brother?" The words felt wrong, heavy, like they didn't belong in my mouth. Seraphina laughed, a loud, cruel sound that made my skin crawl.
She tossed her head, her grin widening, her eyes cold.
