Chapter 25

"Son, what are you spacing out for? Speak up."

Seeing Xu Bin daydreaming, Shen Ruyu frowned and asked.

Xu Bin snapped back to reality, not quite understanding the side quest, but he decisively said, "Mom, I'll handle the resignation myself. I worked there for almost ten days, so I should at least get my wages."

"Husband, are you still going to work there?"

Yao Nan's face was filled with reluctance, "You said your computers are worth at least tens of thousands, right?"

"Every little bit helps!"

Xu Bin seriously said, "Four thousand is still money, Mom, Nan Nan, every drop of it is sweat and blood. How we spend it is our family's business, but we have to earn it back."

"Son-in-law is right!"

Shen Ruyu laughed flirtatiously, approving, "Seeing you so sensible makes Mom so happy, Nan Nan didn't choose wrong."

Previously, she had said Yao Nan had bad taste and a stupid brain, and that Xu Bin was poor and a burden to her daughter...

Thinking of his mother-in-law's past harsh words, Xu Bin felt a surge of anger. Her love for money was her true nature, and some things couldn't be covered up by this moment of harmony.

After dinner, Shen Ruyu volunteered to do the dishes, so Xu Bin took his wife's hand, and they went for a walk.

That night, she went back to play mahjong, and the couple smiled at each other before going upstairs to take a shower together.

"Husband, Mom asked us when we plan to have kids."

"She said if there's anything wrong, we should get checked early. Something big happened with Big Sister."

Married life was never without a bit of gossip, but it also came with intimacy. After a passionate session, Yao Nan passed out, breathless and satisfied.

Xu Bin hadn't finished yet. With just one point added to his stamina, he was already incredibly durable. He could hold back if he wanted to.

Life started to feel normal and boring again. At least this son-in-law wasn't looked down upon anymore—money had that kind of magic.

Strangely, Yao Xin had been calling Shen Ruyu frequently, but it was unclear what they were talking about. It seemed like they were arguing and ending their calls on a sour note.

Yao Nan tried to ask but got scolded, so Xu Bin didn't bother either.

The weekend arrived, and the first military training session of the summer holidays ended. Before going to work, Yao Nan reminded him, "Husband, pick up Le'er after school."

Although the family was materialistic and controlling, they knew the ways of the world.

Yao Le'er was a school beauty, and suitors were bound to chase after her. Even Zhang XinDa was interested. Imagine how attractive she was.

At the school gate, Yao Le'er skipped over, and Xu Bin's eyes lit up, "Le'er, you can rest well at home now."

"Sister's husband, I knew it would be you. Mom definitely wouldn't come."

Yao Le'er giggled and handed her small school bag to Xu Bin, teasing, "Sister's husband, did you fix my phone?"

"Fixed it!"

City No.1 Senior High School's gate was chaos, with cars parked everywhere, blocking the road. A motorcycle could maybe squeeze through, but a car? Forget it.

"Yao Le'er, why aren't you replying to my messages!"

A pretty girl asked, glaring at Xu Bin with hostility.

Xu Bin was confused, and Yao Le'er's face turned red, "My phone was broken, none of your business!"

"You bitch, who's this guy?"

The pretty girl snapped.

"None of your business!"

Yao Le'er snapped back, pulling Xu Bin's hand and quickly hailing a taxi to go home.

"Sister's husband, where's my phone?"

The first thing Yao Le'er did when she got home was to anxiously ask.

"Fixed it, I left it in your room and locked the door. The key is in the usual place."

Yao Le'er rushed to her room, locking the door behind her. Teenage girls were indeed troublesome.

Xu Bin was still in his room, wondering how to trigger this quest line, when the door suddenly burst open—kicked open would be more accurate.

"Sister's husband, did you sneak a peek at my messages?"

"No, I didn't. Fixing a phone doesn't mean I snooped."

"This phone has a bad memory card, and it saves browsing history."

Yao Le'er's eyes welled up with tears, biting her lip and not knowing what to say, she ran back to her room and locked the door again.

But as she sat on her bed, pouting, the lock clicked open. Xu Bin closed the door behind him, saying, "I just put the key back. Using it for a moment isn't too much, right!"

"It is! You're a pervert, looking at my phone like that!"

Yao Le'er was furious, pushing Xu Bin away.

Xu Bin didn't mind, closing the door with a sharp click. Suddenly, it was just the two of them. Yao Le'er looked nervous, biting her lip, "Sister's husband, don't do anything weird. I trusted you to help, don't think you can threaten me."

Xu Bin chuckled, sitting by the door, thinking for a moment before lighting a cigarette.

The smell of smoke was the most hated in this house, but Yao Nan let Xu Bin smoke in their room. In the living room? No way.

Xu Bin blew a smoke ring, smiling, "Le'er is mad, huh? You searched the room, but not well enough. If you were worried I took your underwear, you should have searched more carefully."

"Sister's husband, I didn't mean that..."

Not caring what she thought, Xu Bin went back to his room and lay down, his mind racing with thoughts of his cute, big-breasted sister-in-law. He was confused about how to trigger this quest line.

"Ding... Quest line not yet activated."

"Ding... Side quest generating."

Xu Bin was frustrated, and suddenly, the door creaked open. Yao Le'er peeked in, nervously asking, "Sister's husband, can I come in?"

"No problem!"

Xu Bin was extremely irritated, mainly because he realized something.

The quest wasn't something he could control. His mother-in-law had triggered a quest with a pair of underwear, but his sister-in-law, with all her naughtiness, hadn't. What the hell!

Yao Le'er closed the door, standing awkwardly, "Sister's husband, what exactly did you see?"

"I saw everything!"

Xu Bin looked at her pitiful expression, his mind filling with evil thoughts.

"You saw what? Tell me!"

Yao Le'er was desperate, her face red and tears welling up.

"You know what I'm talking about, your big sister's husband. I don't believe he did it by accident."

The room was small, so Xu Bin sat up and lit another cigarette, smirking, "Your big sister and you, the height difference, he'd have to be blind to mistake one for the other. Your butts aren't even at the same level."

Yao Le'er's face turned bright red, angry, "I thought so too, he was just taking advantage of me."

Xu Bin smoked silently, and Yao Le'er urgently asked, "Sister's husband, what else did you see?"

"I told you, I saw it all!"

Xu Bin looked at her meaningfully, "Le'er, to be old-fashioned about it, I should be the one telling you off, but I know I don't have the right."

"I, I didn't agree to it with Ah-Jiao!"

Yao Le'er panicked, admitting everything, but then looked down, ashamed.

But she thought about it and got even angrier, tears welling up, "Sister's husband, how could you do this? I trusted you to help, and you invaded my privacy."

This phrase was quite high-brow, and Xu Bin looked at her childish face and laughed, "Le'er, I admit I was wrong, I won't explain, but I have a suggestion for you."

Yao Le'er pouted, wiping away her tears, "What suggestion?"

Xu Bin grinned, "Everyone has their secrets, and we can share a secret. I promise I won't tell anyone what I saw. It'll be our little secret."

"You, you can't tell anyone, especially not Mom..."

Yao Le'er rolled her eyes, but she didn't know what to do, feeling ashamed to bring it up.

Xu Bin could see she was really mad, so he smiled, teasing, "Our Le'er is so pretty, even when she's mad, she looks good."

"Who asked for your compliment, pervert, creep, peeping Tom."

Yao Le'er snatched the room key and stormed back to her room, slamming the door shut. The sound was loud, but luckily, no one was home to ask about it.

Back in her room, Yao Le'er cried on her bed, punching her pillow, sobbing, "Big sister's husband is a pervert, second sister's husband looks nice but is a creep, big creep, stinky creep..."

"Why did he look at my phone..."

Crying like a little flower, she suddenly heard a text message notification. Yao Le'er wiped her tears and checked her phone, surprised.

"Le'er, I'm actually more of a pervert than you think. Guess what I put in your room?"

"Stinky creep, could it be..."

Remembering stories of men with fetishes, she quickly opened her closet and pulled out the small drawer where she kept her underwear. Inside was a piece of paper.

It was a receipt from a shopping mall, dated that morning, for a top-of-the-line iPhone 14 with the highest configuration, costing over ten thousand.

Yao Le'er stared at the receipt, not knowing what Xu Bin meant by this.

Another message came in, "Pervert sister's husband stole your underwear, oh Le'er, are you even more mad?"

"Stinky creep!"

Yao Le'er stopped crying but didn't reply.

The little girl sat on her bed, staring at the receipt. She knew about this new iPhone; everyone at school had one, mostly hand-me-downs from their parents.

A few thousand yuan for an iPhone was already impressive, but this one cost over ten thousand. She hadn't heard of anyone at school having one.

"Little baby... Stinky creep wants another secret with little baby!"

Another message came in, and Yao Le'er hesitated, biting her lip, her face red.

She knew her sister's husband had seen Ah-Jiao's messages and that she had replied. This was embarrassing enough, but in her sister's husband's eyes, she must seem like a little slut.

No, more like a call girl. Her good girl image was probably ruined.

What did her sister's husband mean? Was he offering a deal?

Thinking this, Yao Le'er gritted her teeth, feeling a mix of anger and confusion. Her young heart was in turmoil.

Compared to her confusion, Xu Bin was calmer. When she didn't reply, he tossed the phone aside.

Yao Le'er was at the age where she craved attention and was easily influenced by her peers. School was a place of competition, and she was no exception.

Xu Bin didn't believe she could resist the temptation of that receipt.

At dinner, Yao Le'er acted as if nothing had happened, pretending everything was normal.

During the meal, Xu Bin casually mentioned, "Mom, a friend of mine is giving me a phone. I thought I'd give it to Le'er since hers is so old."

"What phone? Is it expensive?"

Shen Ruyu asked instinctively.

"Not expensive, just right for a kid. It's not suitable for you, Mom, you're more mature and stable."

"Oh, alright then."

Shen Ruyu looked at Yao Le'er, who was quietly eating, and frowned, "You ungrateful girl, your sister's husband is giving you something, and you can't even say thank you."

"Exactly, how rude."

Yao Nan joined in, scolding her.

Yao Le'er thought of the receipt and her heart raced. She looked up at Xu Bin, meeting his meaningful smile, and her heart pounded even faster.

At that moment, Xu Bin was like a devil tempting her, waiting for her to decide whether to sell her soul—or her body.
