Volume 2, Chapter 4: The Goddess Who Rejected Heaven (and Wants Me Now)
---
Kai had no idea where the Void technically was, but he was sure of one thing: it was colder than a goddess's rejection and darker than the pit of his deepest insecurities.
And he was currently falling into it.
Not walking. Not teleporting. Just… falling.
"This is undignified," he muttered, plummeting through endless shadow.
Nyxa, falling beside him in glitch-fractured fragments, rolled her eyes midair. "You're visiting a goddess who ripped herself out of Heaven. Dignity is irrelevant."
Eirnys descended upside down, casually knitting a scarf made of soul-threads. "We're going to meet Veyra. The goddess of Refusal. She doesn't do doors."
Yui appeared, perfectly upright, floating like a disciplined paladin. "She doesn't do anything the normal way."
Velmaria was on fire. Not metaphorically. Literally. "I like her already."
---
Eventually, the Void decided to stop being a dramatic abyss and became a floor.
Kai hit it face-first.
"Ow."
He groaned and rolled onto his back—only to realize he wasn't on stone or shadow, but glass. Beneath him swirled galaxies of broken dreams, abandoned prayers, and rejected divine mandates. The ground pulsed with power.
Then she appeared.
A lone figure atop a throne made from a shattered halo and thorns of holy light.
She wore no armor, only sheer veils that flickered between stars and silence. Her hair was moonlight dipped in rebellion. Her eyes were ancient defiance made flesh.
And she was smirking.
"Hello, Kaizelon," Veyra said, her voice like a blade humming between dimensions. "I've been watching."
Kai swallowed. "I get that a lot lately."
Veyra stepped forward. "You're the glitch. The one who cracked the divine system wide open. The one who made Seraphina blush."
He blinked. "Wait, she told you that?!"
Veyra's smirk deepened. "She screamed it across the Void after your first kiss."
Behind him, Seraphina's sultry voice whispered into his mind. "I regret nothing."

Kai stood slowly. "So. You rejected Heaven. That's... metal."
Veyra circled him. "They wanted me to obey. To judge mortals based on rules crafted by old gods clinging to broken scripts. I said no."
Nyxa stepped beside Kai. "And then she crashed a divine trial, erased her own destiny, and rewrote herself as unclassifiable."
Kai turned to Veyra. "That sounds... familiar."
She studied him, unreadable. "What do you want, glitch-boy? Power? Purpose? Or are you just seducing your way through the apocalypse?"
Kai smiled weakly. "Why not all three?"
She laughed—a sound like thunder cracking through the bones of forgotten angels. "Bold."
She flicked her fingers.
The Void twisted.

[Trial: The Mirror of Refusal]
Kai stood alone. The others vanished.
A massive mirror rose before him—obsidian, infinite, pulsating with judgment.
Then he stepped out.
Another Kai.
Colder. Sharper. Radiating godlike arrogance.
"You think you're special," the other-Kai sneered. "You're just a broken line of code pretending to matter."
Kai didn't flinch. "Maybe. But I have something you don't."
"Desperation?"
Kai shook his head. "People. Insane, powerful, seductive people who chose to stand with me. I don't need to be perfect. I just need to be wanted."
The mirror cracked.
---
Back in the real (ish) Void, Veyra watched through slitted eyes.
"He passed," she murmured.
Seraphina appeared beside her, arms folded. "Of course he did. He breaks rules for breakfast."
Nyxa popped into place. "And glitches reality for lunch."
Velmaria followed, smirking. "Dinner's usually screaming and fire."
Eirnys was crocheting something disturbingly suggestive. "And dessert is... complicated."
Veyra turned to them. "And you all still follow him?"
Yui landed, sword glowing. "We don't follow. We walk beside him. Even when he's being a perverted disaster."
---
Kai reappeared, panting. "Okay... that was emotionally traumatizing. Again."
Veyra studied him. "You faced your unworthiness. And refused it. That makes you one of us."
Kai blinked. "So... you'll join us?"
Veyra stepped close, closer, until her breath was divine frost against his lips.
"I'll join," she whispered, "if you survive one more thing."
He tensed. "What?"
She kissed him.
Time stopped.
His system exploded with data.

Later, back at their temporary Void-camp...
Kai sat beside a glitchfire, staring into the sparks.
Velmaria handed him spicy demon jerky. "You kissed an ex-goddess of rebellion. How do you feel?"
Kai groaned. "Like I swallowed a black hole and got approval from my mom at the same time."
Nyxa was typing midair. "Her addition to the harem increased our chaos index by 37%."
Seraphina snuggled up beside him. "Mmm. I love it when a plan explodes into erotic anarchy."
Eirnys braided his hair with her soul-chains. "Don't die. We need you."
Yui tossed him a bottle of Voidwine. "Drink. Tomorrow we meet your past."
Kai blinked. "My what?"

Kai sighed.
"Okay. Void. Harem. Future-me trauma. Got it."
He looked around at his chaotic, divine, barely-contained lovers.
He smiled.
"Let's break fate."
