Pechanga Pavilion happened to be a property under the Feynman Group.
The lively birthday party instantly fell silent. In the spacious banquet hall, the only thing visible was the cold expressions on the screen, Andrew and his son, their faces eerily alike. The live broadcast was quickly cut off, but Susan's birthday banquet was already ruined.
She was asked out of Pechanga Pavilion by security.
Her last birthday in this world, in the end, ended in regret.
Since the birthday party, Susan had become the butt of the public's jokes. The internet was flooded with hate against her. They photoshopped funeral pictures of her, spread obscene rumors.
Susan was about to leave this world. She shut off her phone, not caring about any of it anymore. She locked herself away in the president suite on the four seasons.
In truth, her health had been rapidly getting worse. Even though the system had blocked her pain receptors, her body was still weak, and she often coughed up blood. In a daze, she seemed to see Andrew again. He held a bowl of medicine, just like after they got married. He looked at her gently, staying by her side. "You're awake, drink the medicine while it's still warm."
"You're here."
Susan subconsciously reached out her hand.
Knock knock!
Just then, a knock came at the door. The medicine disappeared. Andrew disappeared.
Susan snapped back to reality, gave a self-deprecating smile, and slowly got out of bed to open the door. She thought it was just room service, but when she opened the door. She just saw Andrew's face.
In her confusion, Andrew frowned and spoke a little awkwardly: "I went live to publicly cut ties with you for your own good. Otherwise, your parents would sue you. Honestly, if you just apologize to Rebecca and admit you falsely accused her, I'll."
Susan was very weak, even standing was a struggle, her legs trembling constantly. She really didn't want to hear Andrew defending Rebecca anymore.
She raised her hand to shut the door, but Andrew blocked it with his hand and pulled out a wedding invitation from his pocket. "Rebecca said no matter what happened, you're still her biological sister. Four days from now, she hopes you'll attend our wedding and clear up the misunderstanding."
What a 'misunderstanding'.
Susan suppressed the bitterness rising in her heart and accepted the invitation with a blank expression. "Don't worry. I know how crazy you are about Rebecca. I'll wish you two a lifetime of happiness."
By the day of their wedding, she'd already been gone.
Andrew was stunned, clearly not expecting Susan to be so agreeable. A strange feeling stirred in his chest. He opened his mouth to speak again, but Susan had already slammed the door shut.
Back inside, she immediately coughed up two mouthfuls of blood.
Then the system broadcasted:
[Host will disconnect from the world in: 3 days.]
Susan wiped the blood from her lips and looked out the window, right at the tallest billboard in the city, now displaying a giant wedding photo of Andrew and Rebecca. They looked like a perfect match.
In the last three days, Susan wanted to live with a smile.
That night.
Despite her condition, she put on beautiful makeup that made her look vibrant. She called a companion stripper and even hired dozens of security guards. Then she headed to the most popular club in the city.
She only had three days left. She didn't want anyone disturbing her. Yet just as she arrived at the entrance, she saw Andrew and Sam again.
Both walked toward her with cold expressions, and Andrew's oppressive presence made people step back instinctively. "Susan, if I hadn't paid off the journalists, do you realize you'd be trending again today?"
"I'm marrying your sister in four days. No matter how upset you are, you shouldn't degrade yourself by coming to a place like this."
Sam frowned, clearly disapproving: "Mom, do you really have to steal Aunt Rebecca's spotlight?"
Susan looked at the father and son, a sharp mockery in her eyes. Degrade herself?
She was just trying to find a little happiness.
She smiled brightly at them. "Mr. Feynman, Sam, you're overthinking it. I came here simply because I wanted to have fun. It has nothing to do with either of you."
"Let me offer my congratulations, best wishes to you and my sister on your marriage."
"And best of luck to Sam in finding the mom he really wants."
